Erin emphasizes preventative measures over medication, which works well for me. The bottom line on this is that I have a healthier lifestyle, and have remained healthier, as a result of going to NWNP. It's a much easier, less stressful, and more effective relationship than I've had with any other medical professional. Erin's going to be my primary physician forever if possible!

Northwest Nurse Practitioner Associates to me represented everything that a family practice should embody and that is now missing in the health care system : empathy, compassion, knowledge, detailed-oriented, patience, confidence, trust, passion. I found all of the above qualities visiting Erin every years for the past 7 years and that last encounter (over the phone) with the manager was the complete opposite of what I was accustomed to hence my disbelief. I have the utmost respect for her and what she has built over the years and my decision to update my review is solely based on those 7 years. I do not believe that one incident should erase the consistent positive interactions and great care I have received from NWNP over the years. I want to believe that there was a miscommunication between me and the manager and it was not his intend to make me feel unheard. In summary, I prefer going here to going to the GW clinic, using MDs as PCPs. You get more time with the practitioner and better care.

refused to see me for specific Interventional procedures I had been referred to his office by his…read morecolleagues for, simply because I made a passing (less than 10 second) comment in a 30+ minutr appt with his PA about how I hate how central sensitization theory is commonly used to under-investigate or under-treat peripheral sources of women's chronic pain conditions, including my own for several years. His PA told me in her response at the time that she (they?) did not view CS as being an exclusive pain generator and that it was also possible to have peripheral generators that had not healed with chronic pain. That was the end of our discussion and it took maybe 2 min of a 30+ min appt. I was at no time told that she was upset with my comments or that there was a conflict with me being able to continue receiving care at the clinic. While I was told they would try to collect my records and imaging prior to my appointment, they did not have any available at my appointment to review, nor did she physically examine me. I mention these last points because when Dr. Desai sent me the following email, it does not seem possible that he reviewed anything at my chart other than the PA's notes and my own paperwork/condition summaries (which detail my prior injuries and success with the procedure as I was asking him to repeat). His email came as quite a shock as a result, given that I was not combative about CS with his initial PA, nor had he or his staff physically examined me to determine whether this or other treatment was appropriate prior to sending that email. If he had worded his email to explain that he understood that CS could be used inappropriately and that was not the approach in his office, or really anything remotely patient-oriented I would not have minded him letting me know that this is a topic we would need to discuss further before continuing other treatments. However, his email struck me as an attempt to pressure to me to agree 100% within his entire chronic pain philosophy upfront in order to continue to access to care at his clinic in general, and that was a huge turnoff as a patient should be allowed to share their past clinical history without fear of it being used against them. On a separate note, as a trained (phd) researcher with expertise in research DEI and ethics issues, I find it upsetting when medical researchers conduct research -- especially using cross-sectional data -- to try to suggest causational links between conditions like CS and EDS. I am in local support groups for patients with EDS (and related conditions), and had over 20 women express similar frustration over Dr. Desai's email and research conclusions. This of course is a problem in academia and medical research beyond this office, but it would be nice if those conducting research cared enough to listen to the concerns of those they are conducting research on, rather than just shutting down conversation completely.

There is a pharmacy in the building, a coffee shop across the street and a restaurant next door. They have temporary 2 hr parking spaces in the front of the building so it's easy to drop off and pickup as well.

I've had chronic pooper problems for at least half my life. I had a colonoscopy when I was 22 (8…read moreyears ago) at a different hospital in another city, and this one, by far was a far less painful, less torturous and less traumatic experience by far. First off, I had Dr. Collier. In our initial consultation, he listened to my problem and gave a very even-handed assessment of what it might be. With Crohn's running in my family, I feared the worst, but he assessed the symptoms and was optimistic (without sounding fake). The day before a colonoscopy is probably the worst thing ever... but once I got into the Endoscopy center, I felt relatively at ease. The nurses all were fantastic. Warm, caring, and had great attitudes. Also, the nurse who did my IV left no mark at all, and despite the fact she said it'd be a "hard prick" I felt almost nothing. One thing to note: They say that the sedation will keep you conscious, but basically ignorant of what's going on in your body. That isn't what happened to me at least - I fell asleep for the whole thing. In fact, I barely remember anything aside from waking up fully dressed (WTF?) then all of a sudden, I wake up in my own bed at home. While I guess they understated the effects of the sedation, I couldn't be happier of how it went down. I didn't even feel like anything was up my butt after all was said & done! Indeed, a far cry from the one 8 years prior that made me feel like crying in a corner, eventually having Robin Williams come to my house and say, "It's not your fault. It's not your fault." Only thing from keeping it from getting 5 stars? Some of the staff need to be a bit more on the ball with the information they send out to their patients. While I appreciated the mailed reminder for my appointment, the time and place they indicated was wrong. (they put down 10:45 and Suite T-110, when it was actually 10:30 and Suite T-115). However, since I got there early, no logistical catastrophe occurred and they took me back to get prepped completely on time. So if you're looking for a great set of doctors & nurses to get to the bottom of your bottom, this is definitely tops.

I had an appointment with Dr. John Ferrell on September 12, 2024, at the ROSM Washington, DC office…read morebut left before seeing him because I was not seen in a timely manner and left after an inappropriate time to wait. This is the second time I have experienced this problem with ROSM including previously in July with another doctor in the practice. Both times I was taken to an examining room in a timely manner and was left to wait in the room. After over 30 minutes, I left the room and spoke to one of the staff to ask if there was a problem. Both times I was told that the doctor was with another patient and would be in to see me in a while. My first complaint, therefore, is that it is not the patient's responsibility to determine why there is a delay. The doctor should instruct his/her staff to let the patient know that there is a delay and what are the patient's alternatives. Both times the staff person apologized for which I appreciate their apologies. An apology by a staff person, however, does not indicate that there will be any change in how waiting patients are informed of delays. On September 12, 2024, the staff person told me that the doctor was in a room with no clock, which is not an excuse but demonstrates poor planning by the doctor. Therefore, my second complaint is that the ROSM Washington, DC office is poorly managed and fails to properly plan appointment times for patients. I will not be returning to this practice for any reason.

Thorough, friendly, and knowledgeable, I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. I hadn't seen a doctor in three or more years, so I had a lot of questions. Dr. Kimbrough was extremely patient in dealing with any issue or concern I threw at him. One Medical Group is membership-based primary care. It costs $199/year, but is worth every cent (and then some). It's kind of like a medical "start-up" done right. Online scheduling, really long appointments, nice offices. Check 'em out.

When I have had minor issues that did not require an office visit, she is always quick to respond over the phone and call my pharmacy when necessary. Only downside - because she is so thorough with all her patients, you might end up waiting sometimes. If you are looking for a "wham bam in and out" doctors office, this is not the place.
