Appalling service on two separate occasions…read more 1) I couldn't find the parking area in the garage, and when I called, I couldn't get through to a human. I ended up parking a block away on the street! 2) I had shingles, and getting my medicine in a timely manner was crucial. Again, I couldn't get through to a human. I tried to set up a video appointment, but there were too many hoops, so I had to pay extra money I don't have to go to another doctor. This is not a very humane way to treat patients. Extremely frustrating experience. I do not recommend UW Physicians.

My pediatrician was Dr. Hyde, then when my family moved north to Shoreline a couple years later we transferred to the UW Medicine there. The current UW Neighborhood Northgate Clinic is still located at Northgate, however not in the same building as it once was. Currently, it serves as my primary care provider as part of my Medicaid (Amerigroup plan) health insurance with Dr. Roesel as my primary physician. While parking at the current Northgate location is abundant and medical services are varied, it does not have all of the offerings of my previous primary care provider, ICHS Shoreline. Since this clinic is for medical, my current medical pursuits are now separated into medical (here), dental (elsewhere), and optical (different elsewhere).

Appointments are long enough to have a conversation and for your provider to "see the whole picture" - and actually get to know you. I've always been treated as a "whole person" instead of just as a number or as a disease. I appreciate that my provider always provides options and involves me in decisions and encourages autonomy. I see Kara Menzer N.D. (who is wonderful and HAES aligned) related to women's health and Ian McLogan N.D. I see a provider here by the name of Lauren Webb. We first met in December of 2025, when she seemed…read moreto be able to tolerate me pretty well. I thought we had enough chemistry to develop a personable client-patient rapport, but the two follow-ups I've had with her have been snotty. My second appointment with her was very weird. I had my car vandalized by a homophobic coworker, and I had developed awful panic attacks because of it. I described my coworker to her as a radical Afghan Muslim who has used his religion and "culture" as excuses for why he committed a hate crime against me, and Lauren just got weird after that. She wouldn't look at me, she was shaky, jittery, choked up, and she rushed out of the room at the speed of light after prescribing me a bottle of 5 benzodiazepine pills. It was kind of like she was saying, "Here's some pills. Peace out." I'm not going to tell the story like, "A guy slashed my tire." Anyone with a brain would want to know more about a situation like that. Who? Why? C'mon now. Having lived here for about a decade, I knew I must have stricken a political chord of some sort, given everything on social media lately, so I searched her Facebook and saw tons of Planned Parenthood stuff, and then I realized she was a rather politically charged individual. So am I, but I'm not going to omit clarifying and revealing information about a situation or violator just to cater to the political affiliation of a medical provider. My coworker violated me for the reasons I've already mentioned, and so that's kind of a... period, end of story type of situation. I liked Lauren a lot after the first time I met her, and I saw myself with her in the exam room as the safest possible setting for me to find a solution to my panic attacks, so I was really letdown when her attitude went from supportive to transactional so quickly. My last visit with her was catty and faintly impatient. So, the medical assistant asked me what the appointment was for, and I told her it was for a propranolol adjustment, but I also wanted to discuss one other thing with Lauren since it's kind of embarrassing. When Lauren came into the room at 1:45, she said, "So, I thought you were here for leg pain but the medical assistant said you're here for a medication refill, so I'm confused... what do you want to talk about today?" But her tone was straight up trash, so I said, "Well, I just want more propranolol," and then she wrote some referrals and hauled as*s at 1:57. It was a 30-minute appointment that lasted for 12 minutes, and I think it was closer to 10 minutes. By all means, use the remaining duration of my allotted appointment time to catch up on charting, but don't be so obviously intolerant of your patient who needs you. Passive aggressively speaking, she ain't trying to be my provider, and that's cool, but now I have to start all over again, hoping I don't get another woke liberal with no wiggle room. My coworker destroyed my life. I don't understand who else I was supposed to discuss that with, as it affected my mental and physical health to the point where I had to go on benzos and beta blockers. Healthcare in 2026 is very jaded, very dangerous, very disappointing, and quite frankly, I'm disgusted.

Highest recommendation. No caveats…read more I've been a patient of Greenlake Primary Care for 30+ years. Dr Krista Hodne is my current doctor. (Previously, Dr Busch and Dr Starkebaum.) I'm a cancer survivor, among other stuff. Nothing about my care is easy, straightforward. Some of my troubles have taken years to bring under control. Dr Hodne is the best partner, life coach, and caregiver anyone can ask for. She and her team have gone above and beyond for me, time and again. Two strategies are proven to improve patient outcomes. Constructive long-term relationships, obviously. Emphasizing wellness over treating disease. Knowing this, I enthusiastically supported Greenlake's switch to a concierge model. The concierge model is a rejection of our nation's immoral, inefficient, profiteering fee-for-service model. It's a return to our Rockwell-esque notions of the family doctor. It allows doctors to spend as much time as needed with a patient, to do research, to coordinate all the referrals, to do battle with insurers, etc. No one is getting rich in family practice. Or running an independent clinic. Do the math, read the news. The providers at Greenlake Primary Care are making huge sacrifices. Just to keep the lights on. Just to deliver actual healthcare. Yes, concierge requires memberships to make it work. Until our nation adopts Medicare For All, it's the best available option. I chose to be a member, despite living off credit cards (at the time), because I wanted to get better. I chose correctly. You can too.

Each time I've been in to see Dr. Palmer I have waited for a very long time in the exam room, only to be presented with a rushed and unhelpful doctor. When I told her what was happening based on a medication that I take, she simply said, "that shouldn't happen." I replied that it was happening, but her only response was that it shouldn't. She repeated it like a broken record until I finally just dropped it. This is pretty typical. When I've asked for clarification, she always just restates what she said, over and over until I give up. The majority of my appointment with her was filled with her typing on her laptop or looking through my charts. Only a small portion actually involved her interacting with me or even looking at me. When she asked me if I was sexually active, I replied that I was. Later I realized that she assumed I was with a male partner, which was untrue. I thought that this was an assumption that shouldn't be made, especially with a teenager living in liberal Seattle wearing a GSA sweatshirt at the appointment. A better question would be "are you sexually active, and if so what is the gender of your partner(s)?" At least phrase it this way when your patient looks pretty obviously gay, and you already asked what the GSA on the sweatshirt stands for. What this all boils down to is that Dr. Palmer is completely clueless. Every time I've seen her I've left feeling frustrated, and I've never gotten satisfying answers to my questions. Instead, I feel like I've been ignored and given short unhelpful responses that don't actually address what I was asking.
