About two weeks ago they called and said that the person scheduled to do the job quit and they would be back in touch. So today they called my friend and said the insurance company told them they couldn't do the "rebuild" (yes that's correct because the insurance company has suspended them from further insurance work which KTHS/PDR failed to say but the insurance company did say). I've heard really good things about KTHS/PDR but actions speak volumes and in this case they are saying NEVER USE THEM IF YOU NEED WORK DONE.

Before hiring, I relied on the independent positive on line reviews on Mainely Foundations to confirm my choice. Burns/Mainely Foundations received total of $22,400 on a $26,800 contract. After causing damage and abandonment of this contracted job in September 2018, we sought a judgement against him and were awarded $31K in damages and unearned income. It will be likely unrecoverable since the man has no assets and the liability insurance policy, while valid, will not comply unless he acknowledges the claim. Which he wont. As a result, we have had to put out over $56K to repair damages and complete the work of this bogus foundation expert. Burns has several relatives in the area of Bangor Maine, and while he may not be using the name Mainely Foundations any longer because of all recent bad reviews, he may be using family business names. Steer clear of Jeff or Jeffrey or J. Burns from around the Bangor Maine area. BEWARE: Homeadvisor does NOT (despite their claim to the contrary) verify any information, background, license or bonding, etc., on the contractors or services they supply.

I signed three contracts with him and put half the amount down, a little over $18k. I know now never to put money down on a contract until it's finished but I am new to this and did not know. I had a very scary medical event (I'm a single woman) that caused me to go into the hospital for 14 days. Someone drugged my well without my knowledge, and hacked into my network and got into many of my accounts almost wiping me out. I almost lost my life. All my animals suffered along with me as well. My dog went blind right after and has had kidney issues since. He walked away from the job after and has not been back since. He took advantage of my situation and slandered me to other people tarnishing my name. So now I still have a front door I cannot close and lock and a house still in desperate repair with three projects started and just sitting there and I cannot afford to hire anyone else to finish what he started. It's been more than a year since he walked away. He said he was coming back at one point but then ghosted me after. I guess I'm out a whole lot of money now, and stuck with a house still in need.
