Buyer Beware!! Now it's my turn to share what really goes on for them to sell a car.
Salesman, he was meh, was a typical used car salesman that will say everything you want to hear to sale you a car. Says their cars are the very best auction cars and they buy an insurance policy where they can send the car back if it isn't up to standard. Said that they have many, many repeat customers because of how good the cars are and that they stand behind them. He also said they have a great service department that can fix anything, even a big job like a bad transmission. Cool...but sounds too good to be true and it is - just didn't know it yet.
During the test drive of the Lexus I saw that the passenger side mirror didn't change position with the button. Salesman saw it too and said he'd have their service dept look at it. Fair enough. So I decided to buy the car and he took it to service while I went to the bank to get the check.
A few hours later I'm there signing the paperwork we get almost done. The "We Owe" paper was next. I asked, oh yeah, what did you find out about the mirror? He said they aren't going to fix it. I said really, that is a safety item and you're going to sell a car with a known safety problem. He said yea, if you don't want the car we can cancel the deal right now.
Wow!
I almost canceled and walked but decided to buy the car anyway since it is a minor thing to fix. It really is incredible that they would trade a simple, inexpensive mirror fix for a negative review but they made the choice and I'm doing my part to tell you to be leery of doing business with Keith Kingan's Classic Cars.
I got home and discovered the trunk won't open. I am utterly surprised at all the lip service but absolutely no action. This is one customer that will never go back to that place. read more
