I used Keels for my wedding in 2007. They were significantly more expensive than the other companies we interviewed, but we (wrongly) went with them because they appeared to produce good photos.
When my husband and I arrived at the studio for our engagement photos, no one was there and our calls went unanswered. We finally got in touch with them later in the day--they had never written down the appointment time. We rescheduled, and the photos turned out okay, but almost all were in front of the white backdrop in their studio--pretty dull. We finally received a CD of the photos in the mail much later, but it was broken. We had to ask them to resend.
They were professional on the day of the pictures, saying several locations would "look great." But when we finally got the actual pictures back I was disappointed--a number we had specifically requested (with family, friends) weren't included in the proofs, and when I asked about them, they provided them, but they were fuzzy and of poor quality. Others (for example, they had taken us aside for "gorgeous" photos during the reception) were boring and uninspiring. There were few candid or interesting shots.
It took 9 months to get the album, after delays. Recently, I requested a high res version of one of the engagement photos and was told the price was $65 for ONE digital image--a cost (considering it would be of no cost to them) that is simply outrageous.
Overall, six years later, I'm still regretting the expensive decision to go with Keels. They don't produce bad photos, but their photos are perfectly generic--not worth the higher price point. read more
