Keck Parking was running the valet service last night for the Michael Blaustein show at Hoyt Sherman Place. The valet had just driven off with my car and as we walked up to the building I saw them wanding people. "Oh crap..." Until right then I'd forgotten I had a pocket knife in my pocket. I'm 55, grew up in rural Iowa, and was taught at a young age... If you have a pocket you need a pocket knife. You'd be surprised how often you use one. Even just a standard old grandfather's type knife... I let Security know and they said I'd have to take it to my car...which the valet had just driven off in. And at that point I had no idea where my car was. Lol I spoke to the valet managing the keys and explained my situation. He asked for my ticket. My keys weren't back yet, but he said he'd take care of it for me. It was just a Smith and Wesson buffalo horn Trapper style knife. Probably worth about $80 new or could be replaced with a used one off eBay for $25-$40. Not expensive, but I'm bought it for more than that on a charity auction for a friend of mine who had cancer and has since passed. So monetary value really wasn't as important as the sentimental value... Like the TSA...door security would have just discarded it so I thought... What have I got to lose? If it doesn't make it to my car it would have been gone anyway. We had a good time at the show and honestly I didn't really think about the knife until we walked outside and were waiting for the car. I opened the passenger side door for my friend and then got into the car and sat down in the driver's seat. The knife was tucked in the change compartment just below my driver's side window. I'll check my pockets next time before getting out of the car... Kudos to the Keck Parking staff working the event for going above and beyond! It was much appreciated! read more

Will was amazing at getting parking set up and situated for me during the winter when my apartment complex failed to utilize snow plowing companies during a huge winter storm. He was fast, responsive and made it happen. I couldn't be happy with the services offered. read more

At midnight in March, driver stopped in area marked LIMO to pick up passengers and was too full to take passengers standing in the PARKING SHUTTLE area TWICE!!!! I waited for over 40 minutes to get a shuttle to my car. I will never again use KECK as my parking service in Des Moines. I will use JET from now on. read more

Above and beyond the call of service!! I forgot to leave my Swiss Army knife in my car, and I had no checked baggage. I ran back to the Keck bus and the driver gladly held it in their office for me with my 4 bottles of wine they already had due to the prediction of -20°F temps!!!! ALSO, they have 110v charging for your EV. They even helped me troubleshoot a charging problem in my car while I was in San Diego! read more

I called a week ago to make sure my 19 year old college student daughter would be in safe hands when parking her car at this location, as this was her first experience. I explained this to Rhonda when I called. When my daughter went in to park, she said the ticket Machine was broken and the arm was up. So she drove in and parked. BOY Oh boy. Did she ever learn a lesson from that!!! Last week, I was told the charge was $8/day, which would make it $56. My daughter has a two hour drive to Macon City (it is 11pm by the way...flight was late) and although probably unorganized and bit too eager to get out of the parking lot in a hurry, was charged $120. She called me crying...not just for this...but for more. But she also told me that Rhonda seemed very upset with my daughter for not having the ticket ready and available...lol. But there was not a ticket. (Like I said this is her first experience at this.). My daughter felt pressured to give a credit card and get out of line. I did call back and after beginning to explain the situation and now her bank might be in the negative for the overcharge (we are talking college student here), Rhonda began interrupting me over the phone. I had to get louder and articulate my message She said she "had a lot of other things going on". But the thing is...she is the one that could have made this experience good for my daughter, but she failed! She was aggressive and anxious and failed to see that she herself needed to take the extra time with my young daughter. She went on to say that she herself had the ticket. Either this is super disorganized or a scam. She has told me to give her the cc # and she will put the overs back on to my daughters card. I hope she sticks to her promise. I have since given her the cc# and she has told me my daughters bank would be credited $56. She apologized for the inconvenience. But honestly. I think it is a scam. I will be looking for the credit!!! read more

I have had many unsatisfactory experiences with Keck and their staff. More often than not their incoming ticket machines are out of tickets or broken, forcing employees to badge in cars. This led me to be stuck in the Nationwide parking lot for 15 minutes while I tried to call Keck using the HELP button. The help line was BS and ended up ignoring the calls. Ended up paying for a lost ticket even though I parked after 6pm (should be FREE). Keck's after hours 'customer service' is a sham. read more

Great service! The parking is across the street from the airport. Once u arrive to park they come pick you up in the shuttle from your car. Then take you directly to the airport. They also offer you a free newspaper and sudoku book. The driver was really friendly. They have a schedule of when flights arrive so we waited maybe 2 mins once we arrived back in Des Moines for the shuttle to pick us up. Again the driver was super friendly and dropped us off directly at our car. The prices are also much cheaper than airport parking. Also we did not make a reservation. I highly recommend. read more
