The food is outstanding, Not the usual late night kebab experience. Kebabs are fresh, well made (doesn't come out looking like it exploded in the bag) and plenty of filling. As for the HSP = The baklava and Turkish delight are handmade and you can taste the love they put into it.

The staff are nice usually pretty quite at getting your wrap together. I always ask for both sour cream and barbeque sauce.... they are great together. The salads seem fresh - the earlier in the day the better and the meats are at a pretty good standard. Worth a try if you in the area on your way down to the bay.

My husband and I order the lamb plate - this comes with greek salad, fresh pita, chips & tzatziki plus I add in a side of haloumi. As a gluten-free diner this sates my yearnings perfectly and the haloumi distracts me from the definitely-not-gluten-free chips. The staff here are so lovely it's ridiculous. Nothing is too much trouble and they put so much care into serving great food. Each time they package the chips separately (due to my gluten allergy). For $22 we always we always end up with far too much food from their generous serving sizes and often have some left over for husbands breakfast the next day. I was disappointed that they didn't accept American Express, but I'm finding that's pretty common in Australia. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $15.50 AUD got me a pretty good sized mixed meat yiro, which was a pretty good deal even though, as you'll see, they skimped on the meat a bit. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? I'll start off by saying that I liked the selection of meats and peripherals at The Yiros Shop, and it was clear that these were some fresh ingredients. The venue itself looks like a daggy old fish and chip shop and they do have some of the usual deep fried food that you would assume to come from a place like this. They sell burgers and fries and other rubbish. But you're an idiot if you go to Kristo's Kebabs and NOT get a kebab. The little old man does all the frying - he'll make your felafels fresh to order and fry them up while you wait. He also makes up the batches of hummus - mixing and stirring from the back of the shop. He shaves the meat, while his lovely wife takes your order and wraps the kebab. They also sell some sweets on the counter, traditional Arabic sweets like baklava.

I have ordered using menu log, over the phone and in person. The kebabs are so good here and they have a kebab plate option without the bread. These are also great with a huge serving and tasty rice instead. The lady that usually serves us is so lovely and is always very accommodating. She has great customer service and always makes it a pleasant experience. If you are looking for a kebab that's tasty with fresh salad, this is the place to go!
