Kebab Baba was hands-down the highlight of our Berlin trip. My girlfriends and I were in the city for just three days and ended up eating here at least three times--that's how good it was. The pita was the perfect balance of soft and crunchy, the sauces were unreal, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. On top of that, the guys working there were genuinely so kind and welcoming. They have all three sauces, crispy döner meat, along with roasted veggies, chicken döner and halloumi (my favorite) options. Be sure to put the sumac and oregano spices on it, too! read more

Amazing place!! Absolutely delicious kebab. Plenty of vegetarian options. Awesome beer selection! And it's all super cheap on the top of all these positives. This would be a place that would make me considering to Berlin. You don't experience such and excellent customer service here on daily bases. Seriously. I'm from Czech Republic and both countries - Germany and Czech are not always the same as US when it comes to the service but in Kebab Baba, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Btw, I would like to react to one of the reviews I saw below - When you come here, don't be close minded and if they try to greet you in different language by assuming your ethnicity, it is only because they are so super friendly that they want to make everyone feel super welcome and home! Embrace it! Teach them your language and share something from your culture. Our kebab artist - Sali was amazing, speaking Spanish to my Mexican boyfriend and practicing some Russian with me! I visited this place today and I don't think it was worth my while. Absolutely disgusting customer service. I spoke slowly to make sure the person understand English but he was assuming he understood but he never did. I ordered something and got something and they wouldn't understand what I want and were talking to me in Kurdish language and I was like "Man I do not understand". They showed aggression when I ordered something and they made a mistake with my order. The food wasn't very tasty yet the bread was crispy which I liked. The attitude of the people serving and language barrier was absolutely disgraceful. If anyone wants to eat food and don't care about the service and the taste of the food this is the place for them. We were skeptical at first because of the three star rating but honestly, it's bomb asf food and it's super cheap. AND it's open til 3AM. If that's not amazing, idk what is. First of all, the food's alright, with a decent variety and spread of different ingredients in their Döner box. In a city filled with Dönergeschäfte, however, the customer service usually decides the top places, or the worst. This place completely fails in that regard. First of all, I should mention I'm a Chinese American who speaks fluent English (obviously) and advanced German, having already resided in Aachen for the last half year. I walked in from the winter cold on a Thursday evening, joining a few other people and a couple of American tourists having a quick dinner. I then place my order (in German) and wait by the cash register while the food is prepped. A few minutes later, a brief stare out the window is interrupted with a shrill and absolutely loud "NII HAOO!" I turn back (the other guests also look up) and the owner is staring wide eyed at me, pointing at the cashier to pay. Then he grins at the (white) American tourists (who themselves had shocked faces) as if he was showing off - hey look, I speak Chinese! I was pretty shocked to really say anything, so I just went and paid - but I'm quite sure that should NOT be considered proper customer service, not by a long shot. To everyone else, I'd say the other complaints here are spot on. Lots of good businesses here in the neighborhood who actually value the international vibe of their city - please support them instead. read more

Worst eating experience in Berlin. The one and only time I sat in that place, the staff was unbelievably rude, insaulting and for some reason (unknown to me) patronising and disrespectful. They were talking in front of me and my partner about us in a language we couldn't understand, which we noticed from the way they were pointing and starring at us. They made me feel unwelcomed and insinuated that they had an issue with my sexual identity. I've never had such an awful experience anywhere else in Berlin, or in any other place I've visited for that matter. The food wasn't cheep either (they sell a portion of kebab for 5.50€ whereas in most places I've had it for 4€ or even less). The quality of the meat isn't good and they use cheap bread instead of the traditional soft buns that are used in other places. I wouldn't recommend anyone going there unless there is no other place open and this is the only source of food left available. But even then, I would personally choose to go on a diet... read more

I'll start by saying the food was decent. Cheap, filled me up, didn't taste bad. Definitely not anything special, although I might have gone back again another night during my trip if I was hungry and looking for something cheap in the neighborhood. Another review stated that the shop owner / main employee (he's pictured in the various costumes here on Yelp) completely ignored non-locals. I had this same experience, but worse: he actually proceeded to mock us (a group of about 8 Americans) and was verbally condescending to us while we attempted to order / receive our food. The guy should have felt lucky that a group of tourists felt comfortable walking into the shop around 8pm on a weeknight, when the shop was completely empty when we arrived. And at first it seemed like he was... until he became incredibly rude and impatient the second he realized we preferred English. He was apparently disgusted by the fact that we didn't speak German or understand how he liked to run his shop (even though he spoke enough English to complete every transaction). Also similar to the other review, the guys behind the counter made food (we're talking several orders) for people that arrived way after us, apparently just because they were locals. Not only that, but the main storekeeper was OBVIOUSLY making jokes about our group's inability to communicate with him in fluent German (some of us at least tried to communicate) with the local customers, which made a couple of them look a bit uncomfortable. Incredibly shocked by his rude behavior, but apparently it wasn't a fluke. This restaurant can say bye to my potential future business, and hopefully that of other tourists, too, until something changes. Notes about the food: the fries ("chips") that came with the plate meals were microwaved. The falafel didn't come out fresh. And the guy will put everything on your wrap/sandwich/plate if he's fed up with communicating with you or just doesn't feel like asking. read more

I live very close by and I noticed that tourists fall for this place. Last night I tried the chicken kebab and regretted it immediately. Living in Berlin for 5 years now, I can confirm that this was the worst kebab I've ever had in the city. The meat was all chewy and smelled like fart (not joking), the letuce was old and the sauce as artificial as possible. Being greeted with assumptions about my ethnicity isn't fun, but in regards to the food itself, the kebab was pretty good. I liked the seasoning here better than most places I've tried, but I've also had better. A small place that doesn't have much seating. Would go again if I were in the area and had kebab cravings. The staff were fun people, even if they made me feel uncomfortable initially with their racist Asian greetings. Of course, that doesn't really make the actions excusable though. They have an amazing chicken kebab wrap. They are incredibly inconsiderate to non German speaking people. I was invisible for 10 minutes standing right in front of them, then finally the employee said to order at the register (I'm German). Then they made everyone else's sandwich before mine. I'm incredibly disappointed in these guys. One of the my all time favorite kebab sandwich though... Very delicious read more
