Expensive, but tasty, classic and creative items. Service was impeccable - always the perfect amount of attention.

The experience was incredible and the restaurant has a really beautiful ambiance and outstanding service. Karyna was our server and she was incredible. We felt very welcomed and cared for! The location itself has a soothing ambiance and everything was very clean. The service was also very good. Very kind and attentive. Now the food. I got the oma deluxe and got to try a lot of different things that I wish I remembered the names of. What I do remember is how fresh everything tasted. Not only that but the flavors of their dishes were exceptional. I was so indulged in some pieces that I'd completely forget to take a picture of the next. A must and I mean must try is the king salmon with lemon and salt. I don't know how they do it but it tasted so buttery and delicious, I had to get more after the experience. What was supposed to be a regular dinner quickly turned into discovering one of my new favorite sushi spots. I've been to some fancy spots but their flavors did not stand out like Omakai. I will most definitely be back to try their other dishes and for that king salmon.

It's hidden inside Reunion Kitchen (another restaurant). First you check in with the hostess at Reunion. Then she takes you to the back, in an area you didn't know exists, where there's a dark narrow hallway and a locked door shrouded in the dark on the other end. Your hostess guides you through the dark hallway and then clandestinely punches in the code at the locked door and, voila, the door opens into a cozy serene restaurant (Blind Tiger) with a sushi counter and a few tables that can serve not more than maybe 20 people at a time. It feels small, private, tranquil, special. We were the first to arrive when it opened and we had the restaurant to ourselves for about the first half of our meal which felt amazing, like they'd opened up just for us. Our server Julian was very knowledgeable and helpful, taking good care of us throughout the entire evening. He also gave us the best recommendations on how to most enjoy the Blind Tiger experience, which we all did. The food is excellent. Everything we ate was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Some of us had the Omakase tastings and all of us tried several à la carte dishes. The Trio Crispy Rice is a must eat. The Black Cod Miso was absolutely lovely too--and it's fantastic that you can order either a half or full portion of it. The lychee martinis were crisp, clean and sweet. Definitely recommend this unique spot for a special experience!

The service was exceptional--friendly, attentive, and very prompt. At times it was almost too attentive, as the busser kept trying to clear our plates while we were still talking and eating at our own pace. The food, however, was absolutely outstanding. The Peking duck was amazing. I'm from Asia, so I've had Peking duck countless times, and Toku truly delivered. The duck was tender, the skin was perfectly crispy, and it wasn't gamey at all. Paired with the sauce, every bite was delicious. We also ordered the crispy rice, dumplings, and tuna pizza. Everything was excellent. The tuna pizza was a pleasant surprise--we weren't sure what to expect, but we're so glad we ordered it. To finish, we had the frozen banana dessert, and it was to die for. We left full, happy, and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

The ambiance is always beautiful, especially being located inside Aventura Mall, and the atmosphere is one of the reasons we wanted to return. When we first arrived, the service was attentive while taking our appetizer and sushi orders. However, after placing both our appetizers and entrées, the service noticeably slowed down. We started with the Otoro Nigiri, Shrimp Dumplings, and Lamb Spare Ribs, and they were all delicious, fresh, tender and flavorful. No complaints there at all. The issue came with one of our entrées. The Toku Ramen, Kung Pao Chicken, and Braised Short Ribs all arrived together, aside from my Shrimp Fried Rice. After waiting a few minutes, one server told us it was on its way, while another said it was just being plated. It ended up taking another 20-25 minutes before it finally arrived, making it seem like the order may not have been put in initially. It was disappointing because everyone else at the table had finished their meals before mine even arrived, so I just ended up getting a to-go box. After that, service continued to be slow, and it took quite a while to receive our check. I was especially disappointed because I had recommended Toku to my family based on my previous visit. Although the food continues to be excellent and full of flavor, the service this time unfortunately took away from what could have been another great dining experience.

The restaurant was surprisingly quiet, with just a few occupied tables, and it wasn't busy. Our server was friendly, attentive, and genuinely apologetic throughout our meal. I actually felt bad for her because our food took an unusually long time to come out. It clearly seemed to be an issue in the kitchen rather than with the service. We ordered two specialty rolls: the Navarro Salmon Roll and the White Hot Roll. The White Hot Roll came out first and was excellent. It featured hamachi mixed with a garlic aioli, wrapped in soy paper, topped with tuna and hot red peppers, with a drizzle of wasabi ponzu. It had a nice balance of heat and flavor, and I'd definitely order it again. Unfortunately, the Navarro Salmon Roll finally showed up 30 minutes later. I'm not sure what caused the delay, especially since the restaurant wasn't busy. I was also disappointed that the menu didn't mention the salmon was cooked. I also didn't realize that kanikama is imitation crab. Those ingredients re not for me, so I wouldn't order that roll again. To their credit, our server handled the situation very well. She was kind, kept checking on us, and brought us complimentary guava and passion fruit ice cream to apologize for the wait, which was a nice gesture. Overall, the experience was a bit mixed. I'm not in Aventura enough to make a trip back here, but I will try the Boca location.

Good Flavor but Limited Value…read more The Pad Thai with chicken delivered excellent taste and balanced ingredients. However, the portion size felt modest for the price point, which affects the overall value. The ordering process is done through kiosks - the self‑service model does not align with the tipping prompt that appears at checkout. Pros: * Flavor Quality - The Pad Thai had excellent taste, with well‑seasoned chicken and a consistent texture throughout. * Preparation - Ingredients were fresh and cooked properly, contributing to a reliable dining experience. * Efficiency - The ordering system is straightforward and allows guests to move through the process quickly. Cons: * Value - Portion size was small relative to the $20 price, reducing the overall sense of value and my rating * Service Model - Guests place their own orders, yet the system still prompts for a tip, which may feel mismatched with the level of service provided. Udon delivers great flavor but the portion size, amount of protein and value considerations keep this visit at a 3.5‑star rating.
