It's like someone took all the stress from city life, compressed it into a tiny, unimportant speck, and launched it into a black hole, leaving only paradise in its wake. The flight to Molokai island? Oh, it's not a "flight." It's a 40-minute thrill ride on a single-engine plane where you get low-altitude views of Maui and Lanai that'll make you wonder why you've ever flown in a real airplane. You know, the kind with a professional crew and oxygen masks. Here, you're living on the edge, and I kinda loved it. Once you touch down in Molokai, prepare to have your mind blown by Molokai island's sheer, untouched beauty. Molokai isn't just a place to stay--it's a test of your willpower to not run out into the wild and become one with nature. And the people of Molokai? They're so kind it should be illegal. Honest, hardworking, and so chill, you'll start thinking you've entered an alternate universe where stress is a myth. And then there's the wildlife. If you're into wild deer, boars, and goats--hello! It's like an unsanctioned petting zoo out here. And if you think you're a real adventurer, you might just get lucky and encounter a mongoose, though don't quote me on that. It's the kind of place where even the local wild life look like they're on vacation. Molokai island is the kind of place that makes you want to slap your "busy" lifestyle and tell it to chill the hell out now. Five stars, no questions asked. Just get here before someone figures out how amazing this place really is. Jordan (Room Oahu 125)

But…read morerecently came here on a recent special occasion for a friend's milestone birthday celebration. It was held in the Waialae Ballroom on a Saturday afternoon with lunch being served for all the guests. What a beautiful location where you can see the lush garden just outside, the pacific ocean was a few yards away when you're done eating, you're free to roam the area and see the beautiful architecture and structure of this fabulous hotel. I was not able to play tourist as this party had to end by 2pm and I had commitments thereafter. But for future hotel guests information, they also have dolphins for you to see. The food here was incredible and of good quality. Good for any type of gatherings of any size breakfast, lunch or dinner. Bartenders and service at the bar was even better! The amount of attention every table was receiving was amazing, glasses were never empty and always started with a full pour. Self parking was completely full, although valet parking service was a better idea. Keep in mind this is a full service 5 star property located in Kahala/Waialae. Would love to be a hotel guest one of these days just to say I've stayed at The Kahala Resort.

Lots of photo spots (we saw someone setting up for a proposal on their beach), you can see dolphins here, there was an adorable cat named Natto, and the staff are really friendly and kind. What a gorgeous hotel. It's no wonder why celebrities vacation here at this hotel and resort while on Oahu.

I love that it is in the heart of Waikiki, very walkable to shopping and nightlife should you want to leave the grounds of the resort. The nightly local music with hula under the sky is magical. La Mer is a one of a kind French experience and Orchids is fantastic for any meal of the day. Just outside the hotel is a delightful oceanfront park where the hotel hosted yoga each day. A highlight for me. Great poolside service. The beach is small, so if you are looking to lounge on the beach, that's not really much of an option. This hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. So you know it has the highest standards. That brand has never steered me wrong. And the fact that it is not under a massive hotel chain umbrella means it can maintain its authentic individuality. Pro tip: if you have a late flight, there is a lounge where you can relax and prepare for your departure, as check out is 11am.

The restroom is in the restaurant area. I never once left the restaurant throughout the entire evening. I was simply on my way to pick up my drink from the seating area and then head to the bar to pay. He told me I was "going the wrong way" when the way I was going would have led to me to the bar... The way this team handles tabs in this bar is abysmal. Right when I sat down, I was attempting to give my bartender my credit card to start a tab. They refused to accept my card and said don't worry about it, and that they'll take it after I'm done. I explicitly told the bartender that I was going over to the lawn right next to the bar (still in the restaurant area) to get a better view of the musical performance, drink in hand. They said go ahead. Nobody should be treated like this

Roomy, spacious, on the top floor. Full ocean view, amazing sunsets. The works. This is the best Maui can offer. Spectacular. And I could go on and on with superlatives until I run out. Service was exceptional. Well, people in Hawaii suffer from what they call "Aloha Spirit", which probably means they are always happy and smiling. Surprisingly, it's easy to adapt to this spirit. But at Fairmont Kea Lani, they took it up a notch. All staff, from the breakfast maître d' to the last of the chamber maids, from the reception attendants to the concierge desk - all were courteous, helpful, listening. I am going to stop now before someone tells me that I'm overflowing with praise. Bottom line, this week was the best hotel week we ever experienced. And we have plenty of great hotel experiences to compare to. Fairmont Kea Lani is by far the best.

Although the only other resorts I actually stayed at were Andaz and Wailea Beach Resort Marriott. Reason being that rooms are exceptional (all suites) and I highly recommend upgrading to ocean view if possible. They have prime real estate directly facing the sunset, making each night so memorable. For amenities, pools are more spread out and does not feel as claustrophobic compared to Four Seasons in my opinion. I'd choose Fairmont again for our next trip. Special shout out to the housekeeper going above and beyond who shapes our lei into a heart each time they tidy our place. This person deserves a raise/promotion. Barry the manager at the hotel breakfast buffet also feels like family; just so warm and friendly. Also deserves a raise or promotion.

The communication with Sensei before and during our trip was terrible and pretty much non-existent. We stay at Four Seasons resorts often and never have I had an issue with communication like Sensei. We ended up staying in the Kaiholena Suite, and loved the balcony, bathrooms and living room with the games, very large screen TV, and comfy sitting areas for working and relaxing. I really liked the beautiful chess set which we made use of. The Sensei team was amazingly attentive, addressing all of our needs, and making us feel completely welcomed. Everyone from the front desk, masseuses, transportation, restaurant staff and everyone in between, we greatly appreciated their kindness and service. Special thanks to Elliott who assisted us with a minor thermostat issue in our room which was resolved without issue. Sensei by Nobu was a wonderful dinner with a relaxing ambiance and delicious entrees and desserts. We opted for a custom massage, snorkeling, and some hale time, well worth booking ahead of time, thanks to the wonderful Sensei experience team. Everything was seamless, from the transportation from Lana'i air to the resort, transportation to the snorkeling experience from the lobby, shuttle service to the other resort for dinner, to checking out and departing at the end of our stay. We loved the library and spent some time playing billiards and shuffle board. Some favorite things about Sensei vs the Four Seasons beach resort (based on my observations: -Slower pace overall -Mostly adults, no kids under 16 -Feels geared more towards relaxation and wellness experiences -Still have access to the beach resort via the shuttle that runs every hour -Feels more like a tropical hidden getaway Pros: Exceptional staff, gorgeous well kept garden and grounds, delicious restaurants and food options, beautiful suite, and seamless transportation. Cons: Having to leave.

That was annoying to say the least when you're spending $1000+ per night, check in was at 3 and check out was 11. plenty of parking for the unit, street parking is close by but not the safest.

We arrived at a certain time to collect the keys to our bungalow from the manager onsite; however it would have been nice if there was system in place to retrieve your keys or check-in at any time (similar to a hotel) as we were driving in from over an hour away. I do not recall the name of the particular bungalow I stayed in, but I liked it. It was on the second floor and had a good number of windows which allowed for the ocean breezes to flow thought. This was very much welcomed as the unit did not have A/C and only electric fans were provided.i could see how it would have been very hot or uncomfortable if I was on a ground unit with no A/C. There was also a large covered patio/deck at the front where you can views the beach and watch the sunset. The property for the most part was very private. This was my first time staying at a bungalow so, I was not exactly used to the lack of concierge or housekeeping amenities. Towels and some kitchen items were provided, but make sure to bring extra of whatever you think you might need. There is a grocery store about a 5-7 min drive away so that was helpful at times. Overall, not a bad stay and beautiful sunsets if you are looking to really get away to tranquility in a remote location in North Beach.

On our most recent trip, we stayed for 3 nights, and would've been happy to extend for another night. This is a great spot if you just want to live the resort life and relax by the pool. There are also activities that you can do off site, and a shuttle that goes into the city every hour. The downtown is small, but is worth checking out if you have the time. There's a handful of restaurants, a grocery store, a new retro-themed bowling alley, and movie theater. There are also a couple of hiking trails by the hotel. If you walk towards the beach, towards the left there's a short hike, and on the right is a longer hike along the water. The hike on the right is much harder--I'd describe it as an ankle breaker. It's mostly hiking over a lot of rocks, so you'll want to have the appropriate shoes, plenty of water, and go early in the morning to try to avoid the sun. On site, there are plenty of great views of the water, and five excellent restaurants to eat at: 1. The Break. Great casual spot for coffee, breakfast sammies, musubis, and acai bowls in the morning. Also serves lunch and dinner. 2. Malibu Farm. Nice restaurant by the pool for breakfast or lunch. Fresh, healthy, and local ingredients. This was my favorite spot. We came for lunch our first and last day. 3. Osteria Mozza. Italian restaurant by Nancy Silverton. Tasty pastas and pizza. 4. Views. This spot is a short car ride away, near the golf course. Nice spot for lunch for the scenery, but I prefer Malibu Farm for the food. 5. Nobu. We didn't visit this resaurant. In addition to the food, the rooms were spacious, and the staff was so friendly. We felt like VIPs while staying here.

We are extremely thankful that we had this opportunity to stay. Every resort accommodation was spectacular! From start to finish, let me take you on our exquisite experience. I called to make a room reservation and was delighted to speak with an amazing front desk reservationists, someone actually on Lana'i. While I didn't catch his name, he made it a point to address me by my name. He answered all of my questions and explained many of the perks to our stay. Prior to check in, the Four Seasons Customer Service department emailed me a reasonable amount of times, to ensure that we knew about the group activities available and dinner reservation options. In addition, they did a superb job with handling our flight information in order to coordinate shuttle times to and from the hotel. There is a gracious driver that will pick you up from the Lana'i Airport or Manele Bay harbor. As a result of their helpful emails, we indeed booked a group activity (clay shooting) and dinner reservations (Nobu). We were also contacted before our flight to confirm arrival and departure times for their shuttle service. All correspondence was detailed and professional, warm and welcoming. On the day of our arrival, there was a uniformed shuttle driver waiting for us and I'm not sure how, but he knew my name when he welcomed us to Lana'i. He handled our luggage with care and escorted us onto the shuttle. In a few short minutes, we arrived to the resort and was greeted in true Aloha Spirit, with gorgeous shell leis! The entry greeter then escorted us to the front desk where they also had our room information ready. Smooth and seamless, our front desk agent actually walked us to our ocean view room! Talk about personal attention and quality care! This was such an elegant way to start our luxury vacation. My goodness, our ocean view room! We were speechless! Talk about being pampered! They even brought us chilled fresh pineapple slices dipped in chocolate! Everything in our room was spacious and clean. We really didn't need to leave the comforts of this pampering. We walked the beautiful resort grounds and dipped into their Jacuzzis. We enjoyed delicious lunch and refreshing beverages at their outdoor bar. We took pictures with their friendly and talkative parrots. Thank you also for the complimentary reef safe sun screen at the pool area. In the early morning, we had a safe walk down to the beach to embrace sunrise. The path was well maintained, complete with polinator habitat and plant species signage. We also appreciated the well-coordinated shuttle service to our group activity...clay shooting in the mountains. In the evening, we had lovely dinner at Nobu then did some star gazing on our precious walk back to our ocean view room. After all this pampering, we didn't want to leave. How do you jump back into reality after a dreamy vacation? Needless to say, we had an amazing time. Thank you to all the employees at this luxury resort for making every moment of our vacation, a memorable one!
