Great experience w/Owen's Electric. Highly recommended. Great work. Fair prices. Professional,…read morepunctual & polite. All good. DISCLAIMER: Next part is a novella. Enjoy. Long-standing electrical issues came to a head w/sparks flying from main breaker which looked quite dangerous. As a renter I had to inform landlord in NY that I booked Owen's @after hours rates which was warranted as I did not intend to watch the condo burn down while the cheap landlord waited for rates to go down ~ lol. Owen's had an electrician talk to landlord via phone to break down technical reasons repair needed to be done ASAP. Electrician [Monty] arrived within a few hours & was extremely professional & courteous. Total respect for the client's space. Landlord sent his local handyman [who had previously failed miserably in a dozen attempts to solve the electrical issues] to come check on Owen's man to make sure he was not lollygagging & shilly-shallying & working too slow & milking the job. In fact it was the opposite as Monty worked very quickly and explained everything to us as such as his decision to change ancient crusty wiring to copper for safety and longetivity. My landlord is a sleazeball semi-crook himself so expects the same low standards from all. His cohort/handyman was extremely impressed w/Owen's man as well he should be as Monty is not only on point w/electrical knowledge but a great communicator. He insisted however we leave him alone when he worked on "live" wires so he had no distractions & could fully focus on his work during the most dangerous part of the operation. That, folks, is a professional. Owen's electrician also left the burned parts to mail to the landlord. Besides charred parts on a plastic circuit breaker casing, there were melted wire casings and a melted screw that absolutely terrified me. The heat inside that wall must have been insane. LESSON TO BE LEARNED ~ LISTEN UP PEOPLE ~ If you want to cut corners to save a few bucks by hiring a handyman instead of a licensed electrician go right ahead. That's what my landlord did ~ & his property nearly went down in flames. He would have faced numerous lawsuits from other condo owners if their units caught fire due to his cheapa&& negligence. As other people noted, the Owen's guys go the extra mile. They clean up everything and are very polite, friendly, on time, and super professional. Very highly recommended if you want the job done right so you can sleep at night.

I needed a weatherproof switch replaced on my irrigation pump. What sloppy work I found. I…read morenoticed the switch wasn't sealed well. There was a gap increasing in size from the top to the bottom of the switch, this isn't going to keep the weather out. The switch cover plate had a mixture of screws used only 2 of the 4 were proper the others were wood and deck screws. New switches come with the correct new screws for installation. Well I removed them the cover plate and then the switch. What I found was the switch box needed to be replaced. In time the box had corroded at the bottom and there really isn't anything to bolt the switch or the cover to. How was that not noticed? The first switch offered was hardly appropriate for outdoor use it was designed for interior use like in your living room. After rummaging around in his truck the electrician found another switch. He never suggested replacing the switch box it was obvious it was damaged. The new switch was replaced backwards. In the on position it was really off and off was really on. Electric switches are clearly labeled which side is for the line and which for the load, how was this not noticed? Attention to detail is rather important when working with electricity and this man is not detail oriented or just plain careless. Since I had to re-do the work I feel the $85 I paid for his labor was wasted money. Call someone else who cares about your safety, and their quality of work.
