I strongly believe it was done intentionally by the same employee as retaliation for what happened the day before. On top of that, the police release specifically stated the car was to be released by tow only, yet the company allowed me to drive it off the lot themselves, directly violating the police's instructions. I will be filing a formal complaint with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs regarding both the property damage and the employee's threatening behavior.

October 5, 2026 my car got tapped in the…read moreback on Route 22 and while idling awaiting the police (the car that rear ending me, saying I was backing up in second lane of traffic when he rear ended me) they didn't want to await AAA to come to take my car from the shoulder (in Bound Brook) so they called Somerset Hills Towing (SHT, is their logo but Vanna may I buy a vowel) who knowing AAA was to take my car to my mechanic they took it to an IMPOUND LOT instead of somewhere where AAA could pick it up. I am finding out about this at 4-5 hours after the event when I was called by my mechanic asking where my car was. On the phone they a live person puts you right into their out going message for you to leave a message that they don't reply back. That in itself is rude. After a lot of bickering and arguing with people who have no clue what ethics are (and what kind of facility doing this impound stuff has 9-5 hours; that in its self should be illegal, making an extra day for most people). Well I had to go back on October 6 to be there and sign all kind of waivers so AAA could come and get my car; and for AAA I had to be there in person as it is an IMPOUND lot when my car was just there but not a frank impound. AND after telling me no storage fee, they charge me $55 for storage. Now to tell you what kind of people they are at SHT; I was approached by 3 people telling me to stop walking up and down Central Ave that I am trespassing on private property. I asked them where are the private property and no trespassing signs. This evolved into big arguments and I kept walking about on that Avenue. I called their town police at 1-908-722-4111 and informed them in the office that unless you go to a town meeting to make the street private and then hang no trespassing signs, as per the police, it is a fully PUBLIC road; they didn't seem happy with my reply. Eventually my car got picked up by AAA and I am free of those inappropriate people.

The new dispatcher was very sympathetic and told me she would get someone out there with 30-35 minutes. An hour later the tow truck arrived. But I have to say the Driver was very courteous and helpful. I'm just very disappointed in the way it was handled by the original dispatcher. Sitting for over three hours was definitely not right. I don't think I will use this company again.
