Unfortunately, the overall experience was more challenging than we expected, mainly due to communication and scheduling. We were originally told the project would take about 5 weeks, but the process ended up taking approximately 4 months. There were several delays and repeated changes to countertop and plumbing appointments, which made it difficult to plan around our work and personal schedules. The countertops also had to be redone because they were not made correctly the first time. We are only reducing our rating because of the issues with the countertop fabricator and plumber, along with the communication and scheduling surrounding those subcontractors. The cabinets themselves are beautiful, and we are very pleased with the final product. We just wish the communication and coordination had been smoother, as that would have made the experience much more positive.

Because we hadn't closed on the home yet, Carlos gave me a bid based on Zillow pics and the square footage of the house. We agreed on a price and arranged for him to actually come look at the property once we closed. Even after looking at the job, he still remained firm that he he could do the job for the previous quote and agreed on a start date that worked for both of us. He actually even contacted me to say he could start the job earlier than expected but then got nothing but excuse after excuse with delays. I had to delay my carpet install by 2 days and even then, the work wasn't done. Carlos and 4-5 guys came the day after my carpets were installed and partially finished the job. He was supposed to come back to remove his trash from my garage, paint and reinstall can lights and registers. Every time I called or texted, it was "I'll get over there today to finish" and never did. Carlos is very loyal and honest! He noticed additional things in every project I have hired him for that needed to be addressed or fixed to properly do the job or to keep from having to redo portions of the work sometime in the future, such as subflooring in areas that were starting to rot but he identified and informed it should be addressed for everyone's peace of mind (and my pocket book down the road). I wasn't ready to pay more money but he gave a fair price for each addition and it was definitely well worth it!!! It is a piece of mind to know that by addressing each additional problem that arose I will not have future issues. There were many different extra ideas he had also expressed to make each project even better for no more or little more money than the initial contract. He has an eye for detail and saw things that even my detailed eye or my very OCD husband didn't see. He showed when he said he was going to or if running late would communicate with me to keep me informed and he was/is extremely fair!! He always made/makes sure that he and/or his employees would take care of my property and keep the job clean. I was even able to trust him working in my home while I ran a few errands here and there. Very hard to trust anyone these days, but I took a chance and he didn't let me down or take advantage. He is now and will forever be my go to guy for any of my future projects, of which I have more to schedule with him in the next year. HORRIBLE! Aaron told me his company has over 20 yrs…read more experience restoring and building decks. I soon found out he's the only employee and lacks knowledge and skills working on decks. I have weeds growing out of my deck boards that sits 5-6 feet off the ground! My deck frame/support boards measure 3", he put a board 2 1/4" on top leaving a large gap for dirt, debris and water to collect and sit on top of my deck frame/support boards underneath resulting in weeds. This will also cause rotting on my deck frame/support boards. Railing boards were cut short and uneven too. He was cussing throughout the whole project replacing deck floor joists, floor boards and rails. He couldn't lift the joists and had to wait for a friend of his to come help him lift them, it took him 4 days to remove the wood screws in my existing floor boards grinding away at screws using the wrong bits or stripped bits. He said it was due to his battery on his drill being low but this happened everyday. I asked him a few time to make sure he picked up all the wood screws so I wouldn't get a flat on my riding lawn mower. I ended up finding almost 20 screws he left around my deck and yard and had to buy a magnet sweeper to make sure I picked them all up. It took him over 2 weeks to complete, a job that should've only taken 3-4 days. I know because I've had this done twice before. He spent a lot of time on the phone answering calls and returning phone calls to people while he attempted to work on my deck. When I told Aaron about weeds growing out of my deck, his response was it will cost me to come fix it and he sent me an invoice. He expects me to pay for his mistakes??? He proceeded to tell me he was a one man show and he has no retirement (his words). Like this is supposed to make me feel sorry for him and an excuse for shoddy work?

The total lack of follow up and lack of communication is unacceptable when it comes to consumer affairs. The only reason they get 1 star is for the understanding carpenters that did a nice job.
