    The man and the bag he dumped on the street but said was too heavy to pick back up

    Second time we've had 2 20 pound bags of grass with our trash that they have ignored for weeks. This morning I finally just put the bags in front of the can so they'd have to take them but he just instead got out pushed them over and dumped them all over the road and then got my trash can. I ran out saying "hey can you get those they've been waiting for three weeks" and he goes "they're too heavy" and drove away as fast as he could. After looking for two seconds I realized "why didn't you just put them into the trashcan and dump the can one more time then?" But what do I know I'm just a woman. We just paid for a renewal and will be looking elsewhere in three months. This is the second time this has happened and the first time they flipped me off driving away. I just want to add we are completely good w paying the 3 dollar fee for the bags of grass but at least take them! UPDATE 03/31 You replied to me here asking for me to reach out to solve the issue! I've actually been emailing yall since last week! Requested a phone call anytime before 1pm and you guys call me everyday at 3pm in the middle of my work day. ALSO the bags if grass we requested get picked up is still sitting on my front lawn even more scattered then it was. Thank you for literally nothing!

That was alarming because I had never signed up for an auto draft with his company. but I had drafted money directly to them from my bank as each bill came in. So I had to call my bank and get it blocked and I had to call them and give them my new address in Memphis. So this morning when I called to verify or to see if they were going to take the money out of my account and I explain to the woman on the phone. she told me I SHOULD have called them directly and I could've avoided the whole thing. Are you kidding me? as if it's OK for their phone tree to tell you that they're authorized to remove money from your bank account and leave it at that rather you've ever allowed Evergy access or not. and further, it's super rare that you could ever get anyone to answer the phone you usually are told that the wait line is so long you have to call tomorrow. so if you're looking for reasons not to live in Kansas City. Aside from the fact that the state of Kansas will keep 5% of your income and never refund it should you be so desperate to have to go to work over in that state, I like the football team but everything else is substandard slavery horrible wages and indecent place to live. so glad I finally escaped that place especially the wretched bottom feeding companies on the Kansas side like Evergy. total fascism.

    My house was built in 1912, and when we bought it, it was clear that the exterior side door had…read moreseen heavy use for a long time. In fact, the door was practically falling to pieces, barely opened, didn't have a deadbolt that latched, and was secured by the type of interior flip-over bar that you see in hotel rooms. It certainly wasn't usable! Clearly, this needed to be addressed. We first had a custom wood door made, sized a little bit big to allow for fitting. But of course, it needed to be installed, and the door frame, threshold, etc. were all in rough shape. Now, the husband is a handy guy, but it was pretty obvious that this project was way above his pay grade. I called ten different handyman services and half of them didn't even call me back, but Bill promptly returned my message and made an appointment to come actually look at the job (I didn't trust anyone giving an estimate from a texted photo!). It was clear from that visit that Bill really understood what was involved and was both able and willing to do a quality job, which was very reassuring. He emailed a nicely detailed estimate, and I was able to put a deposit on a credit card online. Bill was also very easy to reach via text message, which was great. It took a month or two to get worked into Bill's schedule (weather didn't help, as this couldn't be done in the rain), but once he got started, he made our job his top priority. All in all, it took something like five days and involved building a new (square) door frame, fitting and hanging the new door, putting in and keying the knob and deadbolt, installing a new threshold, painting the door, frame, and trim, and even filling in the concrete and caulking along the edge of the house to help prevent water from coming in. I can't even begin to describe all the skills it took to make this happen, and the end result is a GORGEOUS, FUNCTIONAL door that I can't wait to actually use. Needless to say, I can't recommend Bill highly enough. If you want something done right and you're willing to pay for quality, give him a call! I've already got another job in mind for Bill, and he will definitely be my go-to handyman in the future. I can't imagine letting anyone else work on my house!

    Our new house had no towel bars, hand towel bars, or toilet paper holders, so we had Bill install…read moreones we bought. He did a great job and all are mounted sturdily and level. He also hung several sets of curtain rods, two door viewers, and built a replacement step/landing for the door that leads into the house from the garage. The one we had was too small and he replaced it with one he built by hand and it is extremely well-built and looks great! Very high quality work, does what he says he will do, and does it when he says he will do it. Might be a slight bit more expensive than your average handyman, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Like most people I'd been avoiding it and putting it off as long as possible. When the time came I visited their website and realized that I could have just made an appointment, but there wasn't anything available now before our temporary tags expired so I just set an alarm to go first thing the next day. When I woke up I realized I had so much more to do that day than I thought and checked their website again for appointments, much to my luck they had a spot for that afternoon open up and I booked it! I arrived right on time later that day, checked in via my phone, and was seen within 10 minutes. The appointment took probably five minutes in total and I was out the door. The big learning here was that it pays to make an appointment and I LOVE that you can do that these days. Another pro tip: bring cash or a checkbook with you as they do charge a processing fee on all credit cards.

I found out yesterday that we have to "get in line" online first! I definitely think this may cut down on physical wait time in the office and allows us to pull up and get help faster. Was it inconvenient? Yes! Was it more efficient? Absolutely! I got here at 10:15, checked in at the podium and my number was called at 10:20. Now the actual process took around 30 minutes, but that's because I decided to be a big girl and get a personalized plate! Shoutout to Kansas for coming up with some cool looking plates, I love the "to the stars" quote and the sunset theme. I've been to 33 states and we definitely have the best sunset so it's spot on representation. Terra was so helpful and thoroughly explained the plate fees because I was set one the new distinctive black plates that are available to the citizens and although it's for a great cause I'm not trying to pay an extra $50 fee every year just to have it. So after talking through it I chose the purple sunset plate and the personalization was included in the one time fee to upgrade. Called Kansas Gas Service and they sent out two techs within the hour and had the whole part replaced. Now we got a brand new valve and our contractor can freely shut it off and turn it back on.     If I could leave zero stars I would. Not surprised they have one star everywhere…read more First let me say, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR FAMILIES! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THEIR POCKETS!! This is the third time I've been disconnected without notice. Time they even admitted to calling incorrect number on the account but not trying my actual phone number. I've been alone for two years for them to take the other phone number off. I never received a door tag, email, voicemail, letter in the mail etc. They said theu tried a "knock to collect" which means someone knocks on your door to notify you of potential disconnect, then the next person I spoke to said they don't do that. I now have paid my bill and they won't turn it on for 5 days because their techs are "completely booked" but on a regular basis you see Kansas gas truck sitting on the side of the road with the tech playing in the phone for an hour or two at a time. I have 4 children and it will be under 35 degrees at night and Kansas Gas fully knows this yet refuses to expedite reconnection even though they admitted fault as to incorrect contact. Everyone in customer support was extremely rude and robotic besides one older lady who got in trouble for siding with me against her supervisor. Not a single executive of Kansas Gas cares about human beings other than themselves and their pockets. A multi billion dollar company that can't call the correct number nor even TRY the other phone number (the correct one) on the account. They like to say "our records show" or "we understand" only when it's convenient to them. I've had entire phonecalls be removed from their logs for their convenience. I'm in a major city in Kansas and claim there is no techs in my area yet as they are saying that I'm watching a Kansas Gas Service truck drive by my house. Their charity is only for tax write offs, not because they care about their community. And it will never change. I've even been mocked when I've asked for assistance and told "you're a man asking for financial assistance?" Nothing will change either. Prices have also gone through the roof which is a whole other issue.
