I believed the new owners were using the extra funds to upgrade the spa, buy new equipment and pay employees better, at least according to their emails. Sadly, there's been a rapid decline in the business. The spa now looks dingy and neglected, and there's a foul odor throughout. The quality of facial and massage services dropped so much due to the constant turnover that I had to stop coming altogether. I had been seeing Chelsea Bowman and the master facialist Ami Sheneman for years. Both left, and no one contacted me to let me know I wouldn't be seeing them for my next appointment. I only found out when I showed up and discovered I'd be seeing someone else. The new girl Kendall, bless her heart--she tried her best, but it just wasn't the same. On top of it when I asked the girls at the desk where Chelsea and Ami went, each time they looked scared and uncomfortable answering. For anyone wondering where Ami went: I found her! She's now at Pier to Point down the street at the other end of Voltaire. I've already been there and signed up for multiple memberships. I highly recommend you do the same. It's such a shame about this spa since it's been part of the community for so long. Edit in response to the owner's comment: Thank you for your response. I want to clarify that my review was written in good faith based solely on my personal experience as a long-time client of your spa. I did not create my account with any intention of coordinating negative reviews or promoting a competitor. I have never had a Yelp account prior to this, which is why it is new. I've also never left a Google review prior to this either. My intention was to share my honest disappointment about the recent changes and lack of transparency when my preferred practitioners left, which significantly impacted my experience. I understand privacy policies, but as a loyal client, I felt it would have been more considerate to inform me prior to my appointment that my practitioners would no longer be there, enabling me to make the decision if I wanted to see someone new or not. This would have allowed me to cancel, so I could continue my services with the professionals I had established trust with. I stand by my original review and hope future communication with clients will be handled with greater openness and respect. Thank you.

It's a very relaxing environment, soothing music, and everyone is very warm and welcoming. I was gifted a massage for my birthday. I got a massage today by Gwen and she was absolutely amazing. She massaged me from head to toe and her hands are magical. I told her my problem areas and she really honed in on them with just the right amount of pressure. Honestly, the combo of the comfy warm bed and Gwen made me nod off for a while, it was so relaxing. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. The massages and other services are quite pricey, but they offer an affordable monthly membership which offers a free service monthly!

I've had a lot of massages over the years, and this was easily one of the top three I've ever experienced! Marian was absolutely amazing. She worked through all the tension in my upper back and neck with the perfect balance of pressure, effective but never painful, while still keeping the entire experience incredibly relaxing. What really stood out to me was how thorough she was. She didn't just focus on one area; she spent meaningful time on my arms, legs, hands, and feet, which often get overlooked. The hot stones on my back felt incredible, and I loved the added touches like the scalp treatment and facial massage, details that truly elevated the whole experience. It honestly felt like she intuitively knew exactly what my body needed. Another thing I really appreciated: she used the full 60 minutes. No rushing, no cutting corners, just a complete, unhurried experience from start to finish. At $110, I found it to be very reasonably priced, especially given how above-and-beyond the service was. I've already made a note to come back the next time I'm in town. Highly recommend Marian if you're looking for an exceptional massage in San Diego!

I spoke with Hulu about my personal health journey, and he invited me to come in the next day for a complimentary healing session using acoustic therapy. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but oh boy, it was a whole body experience I felt completely relaxed and immersed into an acoustic cocoon... we targeted specific parts of my body where I was having issues & I can already feel the difference. I feel like my soul is glowing I came back in later in the week & signed on for regular sessions (so you might see me on your next visit ) Highly recommend and thank you Hulu for your generosity and kindness

The mini-facials were amazing and left my skin glowing. I did not even have to wear foundation to work the day after - which is something I never leave the house without. After I finished the package, I liked Victoria's services so much I booked another full microdermabrasion with a light enzyme peel. I had an event to go to this weekend and felt like my skin looked better than even without much makeup. I'll definitely be going back regularly!

Anyway, I found a convenient appointment in the late afternoon. Parking was easy, as there is a lot of free street parking nearby. When I entered, there was only one person working, as it was a small but cute space. They had a lot of skin care products displayed, and the waiting area looked comfortable. I was a few minutes early, but she was able to get me started right away. I thought the person who provided my service was very nice and acted professionally. Unfortunately, I thought the quality of the service was a bit lacking. She looked at my skin and said that I needed an enzyme mask, which was fine. I go to get facials so that someone else can take care of me and use their expertise. Anyway, she first did extractions. I counted and she did four... only four. I thought is was strange for a spa that states that they specialize in acne, and I had said that I wanted help with oily skin. Then she put the enzyme mask on and left for about 20 minutes. After that, she returned and did an arm and shoulder massage. It was very relaxing However, I really didn't want to come for a massage, I came for a facial. All in all, I felt that the hour -long service did not include a lot of skin treatment. The place was cute and comfortable, the experience was relaxing, but I don't feel I got much in return for the $115 price tag. I was hoping for more of a skin care experience.
