Glory is by far my favorite boutique in Ktown. If you're looking for one of a kind, unique Korean…read morestyle fashions, these ladies have got you! I happened to stumble across Glory when they first opened, and the owners are a very friendly and warm mom and daughter who have literally the best fashion taste. They have always have a discounted rack outside their store of styles that are 50%+ off. The quality is superb, the garments are mostly a cotton or cotton blend and just so comfortable with special details such as pleats and darts strategically placed to make the most flattering cuts. I really appreciate the ladies offering discounts here and there if you purchase multiple items and they always remember me, so I know they make their customers feel so special. The shopping experience really reminds me of shopping in Tokyo or Hong Kong (sadly I haven't traveled to Korea yet but would love to) and discovering new interesting items on every visit. A real gem is their pants collection. They have simply the most fantastic pieces and most of them have elastic waistbands so it can fit virtually all sizes! I gained some weight so most other boutiques don't offer these types of pants. I purchased some in the past and it's held up extremely well, and I get compliments everywhere I go when wearing it. A bonus is their resusable shopping bags. I LOVE their bags and use it all the time. Be sure to follow them on their IG for the latest clothing they offer https://www.instagram.com/glory__losangeles

A Hidden Gem of Elegance…read more Nestled away in an unassuming Koreatown building, this dress shop is truly a hidden gem. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of traditional sophistication. The walls were lined from floor to ceiling in rolls of silk in every color imaginable. I thought places like this only existed in Korea. The selection of dresses is simply divine, ranging from timeless classics to trendier pieces that still carry traditional charm. Each hanging garment reflects the impeccable taste and skill of the shop's owner. This sophisticated shop isn't like most others in Southern California - the focus is mainly custom work as opposed to selling or renting what's already been made. What truly sets this shop apart is the kindness of the shopowner and her personalized service. She's not just a salesperson; she is a true stylist and designer, dedicated to helping you find and customize the perfect dress for your occasion. Her attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction are unparalleled. The craftmanship of our hanbok left me in awe, each fold and seam added beauty to the traditionally dyed silk fabric. From our first visit to the store, our follow-up phone calls, and our latest visit for our fitting, as well as her promise to continue after-care once our garments become worn, she left me knowing I'd be back in the again with my friends, siblings, and future children. Her pricing is very fair. It cost me several hundred per rental at a neighboring shop for our mothers to have matching hanboks for our wedding. It was the going rate, and all comparable shops quoted the same. For about 3 times the rental cost, I was able to choose my own fabric and color scheme for my custom-tailored one-of-a-kind dress, which came out even more beautifully than I had imagined. In short, if you're looking for a hanbok shop outside of Korea that combines impeccable custom handiwork with personalized service, look no further. This hidden gem is a must-visit for anyone in search of the perfect hanbok.

We…read moreoriginally came here thinking this was only a rental store, but were pleasantly surprised that the owner is also able to make custom work. My fiancé is Korean so he helped to relay what we were looking for. Don't be fooled if you dont initially see a color or style you like on display. The shop is more than capable of delivering on a design and color scheme you want. I am 5'1, 38DD, and a size 12 in wedding dress, so it's pretty hard for me to find pre-made items that fit me well. So I have been shopping around determined to have something custom made for me. Owner was so kind and patient. We showed her pictures of what colors and style we were looking for and she immediately pulled fabric from the shelves to show us what she recommended. For my bridal hanbok, I wanted red and green jewel tones. All of her recommendations were spot on. After we confirmed the colors for my outfit, she pulled matching jewel color tones for my fiancé. We were in literal awe as we had shopped at other hanbok sellers and did not have such a pleasant experience. For styling everything was customizable. We asked for a bell top jeogori and for my chima to have extra slit fabric so that it could flow beautifully as I walk. I found additional fabric in a display case to make a modern style chima where there is a faux tank top. It was a lovely flower embroidery on black fabric. She also selected a floral medallion to match the color of my jeogori, and a matching fabric that could be used for the cuffs of my sleeves. She also showed me books to select what style of gold imprinting I'd like for my hanbok, as well as colors and designs for shoes I could have. Having the floral black fabric as part of the chima really sealed the deal. I love that I can wear the chima on its own as a dress. I opted not to have gilding on the chima so that I can wear it for many occasions. The vision for our wedding look was complete, and the style we selected for me could be styled many ways for different occassions. I was a little nervous about how it would all combine together, but it was truly inspiring to see how our selections and design process came together yesterday at pick up. For time reference, allow about about a month and half to two months for the hanbok to be created especially if you want gilding. The gilding process needs to be done in Korea. We came here late January and picked up our finished hanbok yesterday (March 9th). Price was extremely reasonable for all silk fully customizable hanbok for both man and woman. We purchased a set (including petty coat, purse, shoes, norigae, and hanbok for both bride and groom). We were so happy with how easy it was to get what we envisioned that we bought a second jeogori for myself in white. We let the owner select our norigae colors since we felt she definitely had an eye for things, and we were so happy with her selections. The pickup experience was also smooth. She had us try on our hanbok and also taught us how to tie the ribbons. She felt the white jeogori was a little loose and had the alteration done immediately. For our flight to Korea, she packaged our hanboks carefully in boxes for easy packing. I am so thankful to the shop for creating such beautiful hanbok for us. We look forward to wearing them for our ceremony and hope to come back here for any hanbok needs we have in the future. I can't recommend this store enough. The store name is 한복이야기 which means Hanbok Story in Korean. For anyone curious about the store's history and the owner, I found a really great article here: http://la.koreaportal.com/yp/us9343
