I want to love it here, but unfortunately KB Nails is very inconsistent. And it certainly falls on the less than ideal side of consistency. Service can be abrupt and disorganized. On my most recent visit I needed to have my old gel nails removed and a new gel manicure done. The nail tech complained that the removal is hard. Yeah, not my favorite part of the process either... when she removed one of my nails, it chipped to the quick. I was told repeatedly by her that I have very thin nails. Like a dozen times. After the first few times, I stopped responding. We agreed that I should not have a new manicure done. Then she tried to charge me $40 for the removal. Their price is quoted at $15+. She said she gave me a removal and a manicure. No. Just no. I paid and left. Not returning. read more

Terrible wait times, be aware!!! Went in at 10:30 am to ask for a 5-10 minute acrylic nail removal. This is not a long procedure- just needed my acrylics taken off. Was told that I'd need to wait EIGHT HOURS until 6:30. I get that this is a tourist town and they are probably busy and short staffed, but that's an unacceptable amount of time to have to wait for a TEN MINUTE SERVICE. read more

The service and nail techs here are so sweet but these nails are not worth the money. The acrylic tips that were put on had gaps between them and the nail and were cut crooked. They look and feel like they're going to fall off soon because of how much room is between the nail and the acrylics. The dip I had done was very poorly shaped and the edges of my nails didn't even end up having dip on them, which isn't obvious until they're done doing it. They also had a sign that their credit card machine was temporarily unavailable and maybe it really was temporary but the sign looked old. We called ahead to ask about availability and weren't informed that it would be cash only so we're lucky that we had the cash to cover it. We'll see how these hold up over time but overall, this was not worth the money and time and I don't recommend getting dip done here and I will be avoiding this place for any nail work given the low quality of the work done. read more

Every time I have to get my acrylics filled I expect it to take two hours because the salons are always running late.... made my appointment at KB nails and she started working on my nails the minute I got there! You usually have to wait for awhile in San Diego where I live. She then polished, did the fill, and freehanded this design in under 40 minutes! It was so fast and so incredible! I am very selective and I don't like going to just any salon to get manicure & pedicure. I asked around for a good local place and received a couple referrals for this place. I called ahead and the woman who answered was extremely friendly on the phone. She told me to come on in. The place looked very clean and neat. My feet were horrendous! I have not had a pedicure in ages. If I try to describe my feet, it would sound like a scene of a horror movie. I was mortified and embarrassed taking my shoes off, but I knew I could not procrastinate any longer. The husband and wife were so kind. Both of them worked on my feet. The husband did the pedicure and the wife did the polish. He was meticulous with cutting, filing scrubbing and removing dead skin from my soles. I mentioned I did not like the polish to reach my cuticles, so the wife took over. They did a fantastic job! I will be returning. read more

Pros: Friendly staff. Fast service. Like really fast. Cons: So fast my nails came out looking like I did them. That is not a complement at all. The bigger issue, though, is that the nail tech did not appear to have cleaned his instruments before doing my nails. Or at least not so I could tell. The day after getting service one of my cuticles is painful in an "infection feel like it's coming" kind of way. Ugh. read more

The younger male who painted my nails gave a great calf/foot massage. FYI, most nail techs clean their instruments after use, so when you walk in they are ready for you to enjoy your mani/pedi (responding to the recent one-star reviewer).
