I wanted to love this place so bad... I came here three weeks ago and got a pedicure and my nails done. The pedicure was not what you usually expect, just water some lotion and your polish, I'm used to the whole shabang with exfoliating, rocks, wax, you know the typical pedicure. That's not the actual problem tho, it's up to them what steps they add on right. I came back on Sunday to get a fill on my gel x frenchies that were really cute done by Lindsey. She unfortunately was not there so the not so kind young gentleman ended up doing them. When I tell you I have never experienced such a bad service before. The nails themselves had me dumbfounded and the horror was that I had somewhere to be so I couldn't even get them removed or fixed!! Because of my crazy schedule I had to walk around with these horrendous nails for two days! Mind you the polish litterly chipped away on two nails on the 1st day. I finally went back today and at first the guy was offering to fix them but not so nicely, I understand he had a client but I didn't even want him to do my nails I wanted them done by someone who actually knows what they're doing or simply get them removed. After I got left standing there like a dummy, thankfully Lindsey walks in and she fixed my nails. I honestly would have appreciated this set getting completely removed and start fresh because even though she fixed them, they are not to my standards. Im really upset about this whole situation because like I said in the beginning, I wanted to love this place. But for now I don't believe I would return here :( read more

My last pedicure (minus soak time) was truly 15 minutes. 20 with polish. They were busy when I got there, but got slammed while I was there. They didn't turn 1 person away. They just rushed thru the ones they had, and had 'em all lined up. Felt very impersonal this time. read more

Do not let Lindsey do your eyelash extensions. I've been getting eyelash extensions for at least two decades. I paid $160 for a natural classic set. Before starting, she asked me what I wanted. I told her natural. She gave me D curl extensions in a cat-eye shape -- D curls are a dramatic curl type, not appropriate for a natural classic set. I immediately told her that this is not the natural look that I wanted. She then used a pair of scissors and trimmed the lash extensions. This is not an accepted corrective method in the industry -- it creates blunt, unnatural tips. After returning home, my kids looked at me horrified. What happened they asked? It looks like you have caterpillars on your eyelashes. The length was so excessive I couldn't wear my glasses. I asked Lindsey for a redo and she insisted on charging me. I asked for a refund and she refused. read more

I had such a great experience here! I called last minute for a gel manicure and pedicure, and they took me in right away. The staff was so friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. My nails came out perfectly clean, smooth, and exactly how I wanted them. The salon itself was relaxing and spotless, which made the whole visit even better. I'm really happy I stopped by and will definitely be coming back! read more

KB Nails and Spa - Fresh gel mani & pedi - Nail Salons Near Me - Kings Beach, California

I want to love it here, but unfortunately KB Nails is very inconsistent. And it certainly falls on the less than ideal side of consistency. Service can be abrupt and disorganized. On my most recent visit I needed to have my old gel nails removed and a new gel manicure done. The nail tech complained that the removal is hard. Yeah, not my favorite part of the process either... when she removed one of my nails, it chipped to the quick. I was told repeatedly by her that I have very thin nails. Like a dozen times. After the first few times, I stopped responding. We agreed that I should not have a new manicure done. Then she tried to charge me $40 for the removal. Their price is quoted at $15+. She said she gave me a removal and a manicure. No. Just no. I paid and left. Not returning. read more

Excellent experience! Very clean and professional. Looking forward to returning! I had eyebrow wax and pedicure strongly recommended!

Always a pleasant experience when I go in (pedicures, eye brow waxing). Friendly environment, fairly priced, happy I found this spot!

Terrible wait times, be aware!!! Went in at 10:30 am to ask for a 5-10 minute acrylic nail removal. This is not a long procedure- just needed my acrylics taken off. Was told that I'd need to wait EIGHT HOURS until 6:30. I get that this is a tourist town and they are probably busy and short staffed, but that's an unacceptable amount of time to have to wait for a TEN MINUTE SERVICE. read more

Good pedicure and fill! Lindsey does a pretty French and the pedi is nice too! Great that they have parking as it's busy there!

Good service - kind, clean, skilled and efficient. Really good massage during my manicure and pedicure.

The owners are lovely and attentive. They provide beautiful manicures and pedicures and really make you feel comfortable.

Mary did such a great job for my wedding nails! And her partner as well for my pedicure. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and they turned out just perfect. They were also very fast working together on my hands & nails. Thank you!! read more

The service and nail techs here are so sweet but these nails are not worth the money. The acrylic tips that were put on had gaps between them and the nail and were cut crooked. They look and feel like they're going to fall off soon because of how much room is between the nail and the acrylics. The dip I had done was very poorly shaped and the edges of my nails didn't even end up having dip on them, which isn't obvious until they're done doing it. They also had a sign that their credit card machine was temporarily unavailable and maybe it really was temporary but the sign looked old. We called ahead to ask about availability and weren't informed that it would be cash only so we're lucky that we had the cash to cover it. We'll see how these hold up over time but overall, this was not worth the money and time and I don't recommend getting dip done here and I will be avoiding this place for any nail work given the low quality of the work done. read more

Best nail salon in all of Tahoe and Truckee (and even Reno IMO)! I drive 30 mins out of the way to get my nails done here cause they are just that good. Perfect shape every time and the nail art here is incredible! They have SO many options including chrome which I looooove and I can't recommend this place enough. I took my two daughter-in-laws and 3 grandchildren in for manicures and pedicures last Thursday while in Tahoe. I had called for appointments and they were ready for us when all 6 of us walked in...They were so kind to my grandchildren, aged 5-8-11, and I really appreciated it. This nail salon is the best!!! Every time I have to get my acrylics filled I expect it to take two hours because the salons are always running late.... made my appointment at KB nails and she started working on my nails the minute I got there! You usually have to wait for awhile in San Diego where I live. She then polished, did the fill, and freehanded this design in under 40 minutes! It was so fast and so incredible! It's been two weeks and I'm still getting daily compliments on my nails. The best!!! read more

I am very selective and I don't like going to just any salon to get manicure & pedicure. I asked around for a good local place and received a couple referrals for this place. I called ahead and the woman who answered was extremely friendly on the phone. She told me to come on in. The place looked very clean and neat. My feet were horrendous! I have not had a pedicure in ages. If I try to describe my feet, it would sound like a scene of a horror movie. I was mortified and embarrassed taking my shoes off, but I knew I could not procrastinate any longer. The husband and wife were so kind. Both of them worked on my feet. The husband did the pedicure and the wife did the polish. He was meticulous with cutting, filing scrubbing and removing dead skin from my soles. I mentioned I did not like the polish to reach my cuticles, so the wife took over. They did a fantastic job! I will be returning. read more

Less than 48 hours since I got my manicure. The day of I was really happy with the manicure and service was great. I've never had nail polish come off this way before. I just noticed that my pointer fingernail was bare and then about an hour later the thumb nail polish came off. Bummer. read more

I've had pedicures from SF to Manhattan and this is my favorite place. They consistently put a lot of effort into a perfect pedi. Great service, they take their time and, most importantly, the polish lasts a very long time (no chipping)! I recently brought my friend and she was thoroughly impressed by the service as well. Amazing nail place in North Lake Tahoe! KB Nails is such a find. They have so many colors, I can always find the perfect shade to fit the season or mood. Left bleeding. Made us walk across the nail salon barefoot without slippers. Roughest pedicure. Do not recommend.
