The owners gave me quite the shock when they informed me that a box of old cameras had one in it that was worth twice what I was asking for the card load I brought in! I admit that I had shopped around to two other vintage stores before visiting this one and , while I was treated very nicely at the other shops, the offers I recieved were less than half of what I first though my mothers items were worth. What I really appreciated about my experience with Everything Old was that they were transparent about what my Mom's things were really worth and ended up buying most of what I brought in for more than what I was asking for everything! I like that they are clear, ethical and humble. I also appreciated the excitement they showed over some of the cameras - so refreshing!

But on my birthday August 2023 I treated myself to a reproduction horse statue that I later realised I was way overcharged for, as in, I paid $250 and the item is all over ebay for as low as $30. I won't go back there and gave the item away as I didn't even want to look at it anymore. I had regrets at the time even for paying so much for an item I couldn't afford, but now realising I can't even sell it and get my money back is a real disapointment.

The staff are competent, professional and kind--I absolutely adore every single person including the owner, and especially Gita. As both a seller and a buyer, the prices are extremely fair and the endless supply of beautiful objects (with high turnover) keep me reinvesting all my earnings back into the store. I highly recommend consigning items here, or browsing the aisles for gorgeous, unique items in lieu of mass produced, lower quality modern equivalents. You will leave happy every time.

Yeah. That's this place. Panache calls itself a home decor consignment shop, and appears to have been in business for about a year. They have no web presence to speak of and seeing as neither their business cards, their signage, or the couple ads I found online actually say what they do it's a wonder that anyone goes there at all. But here's the secret: this little consignment shop? A store full of carefully curated vintage furniture and housewares, at literally thrift store prices. We stumbled on this place by accident - we were hitting every shop in Victoria that might remotely have had anything vintage or antique within its walls, and we just happened to drive by this place and slammed on the breaks for a chair we spotted out front. Walking in I could't believe my eyes when I started to look at prices... two original 1888 upholstered banquet chairs from London in good condition, $140 for the pair (a crazy steal, and they are now around my dining table). Serving dishes with pristine bakelite handles for $5. A cute glass cake stand for $7. I've paid more at Value Village for similar pieces, and this place is full of finds like these. I told the owner that he was underpriced. He told me to tell EVERYONE. The business side of me wants to sit him down and help him to actually be profitable, the rational side of me says he's probably not going to listen to a random girl who walked in off the street so all I really can do if I want to go back is to help ensure he stays in business.
