We had an incredible time!! Our guide Terry Jo was INCREDIBLE (seriously, ask for him - you WON'T…read moreregret it). We recommend the full-day adventure and go with the chicken or vegetarian wrap for lunch and the for dinner I loved the salmon, but Drew was all about the steak and potatoes. Give yourself extra time to stick around for the video viewing after - so much fun to watch with all your rafting buddies :) Here's our post for more tips and awesome photos! http://mrandmrsadventure.com/2015/07/14/nouveau-monde-whitewater-rafting-down-canadas-epic-riviere-rouge/

I give this company a D-minus for their first aid / emergency preparedness and I deduct points for…read moretouching without consent. I was injured going over the "washing machine" rapid. The boat flipped up and I fell from the raft onto a rock. I landed face first but managed to take the brunt of the impact on my shoulder / arm. I was pressed to sign a release form saying "Refused treatment" while I was dripping wet, shivering and in shock. -- Not cool. After I came to my senses, I asked to be taken to a hospital but was told no driver was available. -- Not cool. Later, when my friend was later injured on the same rock (cut to arm resulting in a strong flow of bright red blood), our guide was nowhere to be found. On the shore, it was me, with my injured arm, who administered first aid. Don't be fooled -- you can be seriously hurt while rafting. If you are hurt I would not expect this company to do anything for you in terms of first aid. Last but not least, when doing safety demonstrations, our guide reached straight for the most diminutive woman, out of four, with our group of 20. He then proceeded to show how you would pull someone into the raft, roll them over etc... ie a lot of body contact and touching -- without seeking consent from the woman ("I am going to take hold of your life jacket and pull up. OK?"). This should be an immediate red flag.

He commanded us great and we were the only boat who didn't tip or get anyone who fell off. He made it fun and tbh I twisted my ankle and was so scared and he was kind even when I complained. The place is BEAUTIFUL and the lunch included was delicious and vegetarian/vegan included. Where you go for a snack half way the rocks are steep to climb and it was hard to get up so I recommend making a friendly path to get up, tbh that was probably because I had a twisted ankle tho! Only way it would be even better is if they added zip lining and if the half way point bathrooms actually locked or were actual restrooms instead of outhouse style. Still I give this a 10/10, thank you for your great experience nick and Betty

This was an epic family trip. Full stop. Book it with your kids and fit grandparents…read more 6 of us went on their family tour, Grandpa (a fit 78), Mom, Dad (mid 40's) and 3 kiddos 8, 10, 11. This was perfect adventure trip for our family. From start to finish, it was a great introduction to white water rafting. Our guide, Monte, who was the trip leader was perfect for our group. He did an amazing job at leading both the entire trip and as a guide for our group. He answered questions, made sure we had fun, was encouraging - he read our group perfectly and made sure our adventurous kiddos had a great time and made sure our tentative 8-year-old felt safe and supported through the entire trip. Lucy, a guide on another boat, also helped our 8-year-old with her fears with words of encouragement and helped her by swimming with her on a section where she was able to float through a set of rapids. Safety was a top priority for the trip, water was flowing moderately fast for our trip, once the kids under 90lbs needed to walk down while the adults went through, and ones that all boats skipped, there was never a time where we felt that things were out of control. The trip is definitely in the wilderness, there are a few times where it's expected that you are able to exit the boat and navigate shoreline terrain. Top notch experience, worth the money for sure.

We had a separate guide for us in the kayaks alongside other raft teams. Highly recommend this place, they'll take you down the river safely.

We visited Montreal over the weekend and were looking for a recreational activity. Visiting from…read morethe United States meant we had no first hand knowledge of the area or companies that offered rafting excursions. We used the internet to locate Eau Vive and I'm so glad we did. The rafting was amazing fun and the course was a good mix of both calm and white water sections but more important than that I would like to focus my review on the people. Every single person we came in contact with that works at Eau Vive was great (and you come in contact with a lot of people as you arrive, pick up your gear, take a quick lesson, board the busses, return back, and eat lunch). Every person went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. Our guide was a great guy who gave us a fun day on the water while projecting the confidence that made us feel safe in his hands. (Thank you Luc). Everyone was funny, kind, caring, and most of all put up with us annoying Americans. Everything about the experience was amazing, but the people in my mind are what made it five stars. Thank you for making our day and showing us just how kind Canadians can be. If you're looking for a great day on the river, please give Eau Vive your business. It's about 90 minutes outside of Montreal and was definitely the highlight of our trip. Thank you again to everyone at Eau Vive.
