Dr. John at Prairie View Orthodontics has been helping us out for two years now. We have been more than happy with the office staff as well.

The doctor must not have been in a not so good mood and yelled at my daughter and called me into her private office, and continue to scold me... Not only that after I left, she called my dentist office and continued and then called me while I was driving home to continue on the phone to continue to yell at me... Long story short it was quite an intense experience. I left there with my daughter (quite traumatized) not finishing treatment. I found Prairieview orthodontics, and wow! Its night and day difference in service! Not only does Dr. John and his team welcome questions they take the time no matter how long, even if it set them behind with other appointments, to answer any questions and concerns, and they really went above and beyond finishing off my daughters treatment, leaving her with an absolutely stunning smile. I have to say she was quite scared and timid, going to any doctor after our past experience. But Dr. John is just so good with kids gets on their level super friendly, very reassuring, answered any of her questions even during adjustments was very kind and gentle to her. Unlike the other orthodontist, who burned her nose, chipped her tooth, scratched her and yelled at her for breaking brackets, etc. Dr. John and his team are so friendly and definitely go the extra mile. We love the experience so much here at Prairie view. They have many locations in the area with super flexible scheduling, other orthodontist offices, actually charge more if you need an after school appointment versus during the day... Prairie view does not do that to schedule appointments around your schedule for no added cost!the team is so friendly and customer oriented- its really been a night and day experience! I personally now had my teeth done and have my youngest daughter starting soon!! anyone with children that are a little nervous going to the orthodontist or any doctor or dentist for that matter should definitely go here! The doctors are phenomenal, and the staff is outstanding!

Once the braces were on, my teeth started moving in multiply directions. They looked worst then…read morebefore the braces were put on. When the process was complete, I was still left with gaps between some of my teeth and still had an overbite. Dr. Laguatan was upset that I asked him for a permeant retainer. While putting in the permeant retainer Dr. Laguatan changed the shape of 3 of my top incisor teeth by shaving them without me consenting to him doing so. My front tooth looked like a Chiclet. (During this appointment I witnessed him yelling at his dental assistant while working in my mouth). While putting the permeant retainer in Dr. Laguatan stuck metal rods through my top gum line without numbing the area (this was VERY painful to the point I was shaking in his chair) I was shaking so bad that when he walked out of the room the dental assistant asked me on a scale of 1-10 how bad is my pain. It was so severe" I told her Very Painful. In truth my pain level was beyond a 10. I asked Dr. Laguatan to numb my bottom gums before putting rods through my gums because the process he was using was very painful. He tells me he doesn't want the numbing medicine to affected the cement binding process. He then stuck the metal rods through my bottom teeth (instead of numbing my bottom gums like I asked him to (he chipped my bottom tooth and caused my gum line to be moved downward. He had to remove the permeant retainer because there were still gaps in my teeth. Before he put the 2nd set of permeant retainers in, he attempted to reshape my front incisor tooth that looked like the chiclet. At the bottom corner you can still tell he shaved my tooth because one corner is still pointy. He shaved down a filling he put in on a tooth prior to me getting brace during my brace's appointment for no reason at all and now that tooth is sore and sensitive to cold and hot liquids/food. My new dentist had told me the only way to fix this issue is to get a Crown on the tooth he shaved because is now nerve affected and there is not a cavity on the tooth. When I asked Dr. Laguatan to remove the cement off my gum line he did so then at the end of my appointment Dr. Laguatan proceeded to say, "I don't know why you asked me to remove the cement from your gums because I just added it right back to your gums." Dr. Laguatan referred to me as Humpty Dumpty and home girl. Dr. Laguatan left the bottom permanent retainer and the cemented area on the retainer so uneven and rough that it began slicing the tip of my tongueDuring another appointment Dr. Laguatan pushed the head rest down while my head was laying on it and then asked me if that was more comfortable. Immediately I started feeling pain in my lower neck and upper back. Dr. Laguatan comprised the integrity of my front top and bottom front teeth by grinding a horizontal line across the top and bottom row teeth. Now I feel pain when hot and cold food or liquids touch my front top and bottom row teeth. After telling Dr. Laguatan my top and bottom roll teeth are now so sensitive to hot and cold food and it is even painful for my tongue to touch my teeth he tells me that I should try Sensodyne tooth paste. I let Dr. Laguatan know my pain was so serve that it lasted for days and I am worried that the nerves in my teeth are now exposed he cut me off and stated all we did was put wire and cement in the area. Then he proceeded to ask me questions about teeth that I did not say bothered me in an attempt to question my integrity. When Dr. Laguatan put in my removeable retainers it tasted very funny. My tongue began hurting. By night my tongue was burning. I removed the retainers washed them and soaked them in mouthwash. Instantly the burning on my tongue started to subside. The next 4-5 days my tongue was sore and swollen but not burning as much as it was before. The surrounding of mouth was also sore. The bottom retainer he put in my mouth had been altered or was defective. There were two razor-sharp metal pieces on each side of the retainer that stuck in the top of 2 of my back teeth. Dr. Laguatan didn't put braces on of my top moral teeth now food gets completely stuck between these teeth and it is very uncomfortable when I eat. When I told him food keeps getting stuck in my teeth, he started arguing with me and then took floss and acted as though he was checking the areas in question but never placed the floss in the areas in questioned, he just bypassed those areas. My new dentist has since told me they only way to fix this issue is to get braces again. I wouldn't refer Dr. Laguatan to anyone in this world. Run as far as possible from this dentist as you possibly can. If I could give the Dr. zero stars I would do so.

Came in for a chipped front tooth, it was the end of the day & it couldn't be more clear that the doctor wanted to be done for the day. She filled the chip faster than I've ever had a filling done. I went elsewhere to fix it again & had a much better experience. Don't go here! They also wanted to upcharge another $150 for a night guard. They quoted $650, the dentist I went to after this crappy dentist can do it for $500. Would not recommend this place!

The orthodontist was okay but the office is violating HIPPA laws. My son was a minor when he began…read moretreatment. At age 19 he decided he was happy with the way that the treatment had progressed and wanted his braces off even though treatment was not officially finished. The office demanded that I come to sign something saying the braces could come off. I informed them he was an adult and allowed to make all his own medical decisions. When we did not sign they threatened to drop him their care even through all of his treatment including removal was paid for. I went and signed the paper even though the attorney said that he could sue them for not taking the braces off and make them pay to have another ortho remove them. It wasn't worth the hassle. Then they said that was not good enough and demanded my husband go sign the paper too. My husband was not at the initial meeting to put them on, he never once took our son to the appointments due to his work schedule and actually had to take time off to sign this paper. This is all ridiculous since we didn't have the authority to sign anything for him since he is an adult anyway. They claimed it was for insurance. They are going to get sued for the HIPPA violation.
