I completely paid off my balance to Kay Jeweler. I was suppose to get a refund in OCT for the overage. It is now DEC. The "check" was suppose to be sent out twice already, and I still have not received it. I am glad that I am not depending on the refund to eat. I would be dead by now. read more

I searched reviews for Augusta GA Kay Jewelers to make this post and was shocked, but vindicated. Under no circumstance should Kay in Augusta be considered competent for watch repair or customer service. I dropped off a family heirloom for analysis. I paid $150 for cleaning and determination if repair was cost effective. I specifically had noted on the receipt that no repair over $150 was to be without authorization. I was given a 5 week verbal commitment. After the 5 weeks I asked for status, and looked at the two page receipt that I hadn't paid attention to when speaking with the Customer Representative, receiving different information. I had given a $500 estimate of value, and low and behold, the estimated repair was the value minus the deposit, and four additional weeks for delivery. At this time Kay was requested to check status, which failed to happen. When the promised delivery date was reached, Kay was contacted and they were unable to give status. An additional week past, at which time the repair amount was exactly the amount on the receipt when dropping off prior to examination. I stated that I had stated no work beyond $150 was to be performed and was told that they couldn't do that, and the balance was on the receipt. I demanded return of the watch. This seemed to be beyond their capability, but insistence to the Kay representative had her contact the out service and agree to my request. It took a week for the return. 10 weeks, the cost they'd calculated without looking at the watch, and it wasn't even cleaned. $150.00. I look over the reviews for Augusta GA Kay Jewelers and wonder how an organization nationally recognized, spending a large budget to advertise, doesn't pay attention to customer feedback. I left Kay with the statement, "I will spend $150 in effort to let others know" KISS OFF KAY JEWELERS. This kiss didn't begin there. read more

I went in to get my necklace cleaned and had a question as to if the store carries "endless hoop earrings". At first I was told by the customer service personnel that she didn't think that was the name of the earring. I disagreed, thanked her and walked away but decided to google it on my phone and returned immediately with a picture and the name to show her. She rudely pointed me to the earring case saying "hoops are over there". I went over to the case and what do I see, a pair of endless hoops. I look back and waited for a minute for her to look up from her phone which she didn't so I say "excuse me" twice. When she finally gets up and walks over I tell her I see a pair and ask too see them. She takes them out the case, hands them to me, I ask what size they are? She says "I don't know, all I know is they are gold". That was it for me, I handed her the earrings, thanked her and left. read more

Should not even have one star. The people there are rude, and make you feel like your a bothersome! My wedding ring diamonds keep falling out EVERY SINGLE TIME I go there for a cleaning, or they " send it out to be fixed ". They NEVER clean it correctly! They blamed me for it being dirty, and told me to now wear my wedding ring all the time. Who does that? It's my wedding ring! I'm going to wear it all the time! read more

Customer service SUCKS terribly. Sent my ring off to be resized after telling them my correct size and they even sized my finger at the store... got the ring back & im not sure what exactly they did with it for the two weeks they had it, but it's the same size as it was when we sent it off. The band was also never resized. Thanks Kays! However; I do love my ring! Would not recommend this jeweler & will never use them again. read more

My husband took my jewelry in today for cleaning and inspection. When he brought it back to me both of my necklace chains were in knots; one was just tossed in the box and tangled up with my bracelet. It was not like that when I sent it in; they were chained around the straps in each box. The jewelry was definitely not cleaned either. Poor customer service for someone who brought in over $2500 worth of jewelry. We'll be shopping elsewhere from now on. read more

The WORST customer service I have ever experience and extremely low quality products. I went to have my rings cleaned and to purchase a bracelet. The employee literally said nothing to me expect "mhmm." Even after she handed me my rings back I said thank you and she said mhmm and walked off....my husband and I seriously could not believe it, especially for people who work on commission! Kay as a whole is like the McDonalds of jewelry, cheaply made & poor quality. In the past year my ring has had to be sent off 5 times because stones were loose and the prongs keep breaking off. Also, last time my ring broke they sent it to get fixed (which they send to Jared, a five minute walk away) I went to pick it up a day AFTER the pick up date and it still wasn't ready...after having it for 16 days!!! The employee called Jared and said they'll bring it up in 45 minutes. I would advise everyone to stay away from Kay! read more

On 19 July, I took a a watch and my wedding ring to Kay's in order to replace one emerald that had fallen out of the gold setting as is wont to happen when it loosens over time but there were no other defects or damages to the ring and all of the prongs and the setting were intact without scratches. On 31 July, I went to pick up my ring only to find that they had attempted to fit an emerald that was too small into the setting, despite the fact that, due to the symmetrical design of the ring, they could have easily compared the size of the replacement emerald to the other remaining opposing emerald in the sunrise configuration. Because this was not a proper fit, not only was the emerald too small and unsymmetrical, but it was lopsided and slanted besides while the other emeralds presented a nice flush line when viewed from any side. These defects were visible to the naked eye and from more than six inches away. Still, only when I asked the assistant manager if we should ask a random person walking by if they didn't see something off about the ring just prove that I wasn't seeing things that she finally agreed that there was something wrong with the ring and she would "take care of it." On 2 August, when I spoke with Tammi the original saleslady I entrusted the ring to, she agreed right away and, with no prompting, described the damage and what the repair should look like. She then told me the ring was ready for pick up but not the watch, but if I came during the week of 12 August, I could get both. On 15 August, I discovered that not only was the watch not ready, my ring's setting was horribly damaged. After waiting patiently for the manager, Benjamin, to finish working with another customer who was placing an order, I explained that the structural integrity of the setting was now compromised to the point that I could not place another emerald in the setting as it was sure to fall out over and over again. After two botched repairs, I no longer trust Kay Jewelers to fix the ring and I wanted to take the ring to another shop in order to replace the setting and, because they were the ones who damaged the setting, they should foot the bill. I reached my hand out for my ring and he actually snatched it away from me until I demanded that he give it back! He said Kay Jewelers wasn't going to pay to replace the setting and I needed to lower my voice (which I had raised so that he could hear me after he took the ring to the other side of the store), because he wasn't going to tolerate my "disrespect" as if he, and Kay Jewelers, weren't disrespecting me by taking my property, damaging it and attempting to pass it off to me as if there was nothing wrong. After all, if I went there and broke one of their pieces, they would likewise demand that I pay them and they wouldn't accept it if I tried to just glue it back together. Which is exactly what it looked like they had done, per the words of a random young lady whose opinion I asked for when Benjamin took the ring over to his microscope and proclaimed that the prong for the missing stone looked just like all the others, despite the fact that the crooked and misshapen welding of the prong was visible to the naked eye. However, this woman, who had just walked in, immediately identified the damaged prong when merely handed the ring and asked if all the prongs looked the same to her. Predictably, when they removed the emerald that was too small, because of the manner in which they had tried to force the setting around it, the prong broke off so they merely welded it back on but so hurriedly that it was scratched and tilted. Each time I asked, if Benjamin did not have the authority to help me, that he call someone who did, he declined, first claiming that this was the first he had ever heard of my ring--as if communication issues within Kay Jewelers were my fault; then instructing me to go look at the ring with him under a microscope--what for? The damage is visible to the naked eye?; and finally offering me the number to corporate--when we all know he'd have more clout with them instead of me. During this time, Benjamin continued to roll and bug his eyes out at me and pass sidelong glances to the security guards and proclaimed that he was still "perturbed by my tone." It got so bad that I finally did start crying and got down on my knees, bowed, begged and pleaded before this man who apparently thought that I wasn't kowtowing to him enough. Still, he couldn't care less, called the police and insisted that I be kicked out of not only the store but the entire mall! When the police officer arrived, he saw what they did to my ring and said that he couldn't make the store pay, advising me to sue but who has money for that? It was only after this that Benjamin apologized for what happened in the store and he said he'd investigate and make sure that the repair shop paid if he found them to be at fault, promising that I'd be happy on Monday. Horrible experience. I went here looking for a birthday gift for myself and was extremely disappointed with the lack of selection. After looking at their entire inventory I finally succumbed to sales pressure and purchased a bracelet and earrings. Once I got home I realized how much I didn't like either item so I decided to return them. When I arrived at the store I was greeted with attitude that only got worse when I told them I wanted to return the items. Then they told me they didn't have enough cash to refund my money. Technically they did but they had to hold on to that cash "just in case" they had to make change. When I told them that wasn't my problem they said they could send me a check in 7-10 days which was not acceptable. I asked for the district manager and they claimed that they never spoke to them by phone only email...yeah right. So now I have to repeatedly call up there to see if they have cash so I can come back and get my money. Completely pathetic. read more
