I recently contacted Ms Douglas for advice about my credit and how bankruptcy proceedings work…read more She was very empathetic and knowledgeable. Ms.Douglas listened very attentively. She has years of experience in bankruptcy law. I feel confident her counsel was helpful. She has the ability to explain the complicated processes in a manner that is clear and concise. I felt much more informed after our initial consultation. Never once during our meetings did I feel like I was being judged. Ms. Doulas has the experience and compassion to guide anyone thru this very complex process. I found her online to help me with some potential bankruptcy filing. After meeting with her twice…read moreand giving her over $ 500 for filing fees ( for the court) I decided to not go through with filing. I have sent emails to try and receive my money back and yet to receive any response. The moment I let her know I wasn't going to go through with it, I stopped getting any kind of reply's. She's in it for the money and could care a less about her clients and their wellbeing. The best part.... She finally replied to my email after I posted this review and is justifying why she deserves the money for all the " work" she put in. She pulled my credit report and had a conversation with me twice. For someone who works with people who are in a financial situation she doesn't give a crap about you. She demanded I take down the reviews and she would " consider" give me a partial refund. Basically bullying me. Absolutely unprofessional and awful. If you are in a tough situation and need help don't go to this women. She is evil.

I am happy to leave this review, having just finalized my divorce with the help of this fine firm,…read morespecifically, Attorney Melissa Avery. My case was very hard and had been long and drawn-out, but she was able to bring things to a long-awaited close. She, and her staff, were available for my questions, and to make sure I always knew where I was in the process; as I had been with another attorney prior to her that left me in the dark, this was a gift to me. Any court proceedings or dealings with the judicial system are emotional and confusing for someone like me, and she made the process something I could deal with. We were able to get thru the event without going to court, which saved me money and a lot of heartache, and for that I'm grateful. Mediation was the route we took, but, Melissa was ready to go to court if necessary. I feel she fought on my behalf and ultimately that was what I needed in my lawyer. I felt I had lost in the marriage but I did not walk away feeling like a loser thanks to this firm and the whole staff. Nobody wins in a divorce, in my opinion... But, a good lawyer can help you end things as fairly as possible.
