The cafe is connected to the Queens Crafters and Antique Market, but is semi-private. The actual cafe area has quaint seating and is very aesthetically pleasing. Finally...the gelato is incredible. I had the fudgy roman turtle in a waffle cone and it was unlike any gelato I have ever had before. There were lots of nuts and the flavor was extraordinary. My children had fruit flavors and the vanilla bean. All of which were delicious.

Personally, Stella Luna is a bit overrated for me. The hype just isn't matching the price point,…read moreand I expected a lot more considering their reputation. I tried the chocolate cake and the icing just didn't hit the way it should've for a shop that's so well-known, it looked great but the flavour wasn't what I was hoping for. I also tried their cannoli. It wasn't bad at all, but there's definitely room for improvement. The filling was decent, but I found myself wanting a bit more richness and that classic creamy punch you usually get from a great cannoli. The shell had a nice crunch, but overall it just didn't wow me the way I expected. The place itself is cute and the display looks amazing, but for the price, I thought the desserts would stand out more. I'd maybe give it another chance, but it wasn't the mind-blowing experience everyone talks about.

So this ice cream shop just opened July 1, 2020. I can't help but to compare it to Brett's Ice…read moreCream in Kanata, because both ice cream shops are co-located with auto shops and both places sell soft serve ice cream with flavour bursts. The prices are the same too! Although the portion size at Coco's is smaller than Brett's. However, I live much closer to Coco's. I discovered Coco's Cafe and Creamery here on Yelp! I didn't even know that it existed, despite the fact that I live relatively close by. Good thing I was trolling for ice cream shops nearby on my trusty Yelp App! Lol. So they only have soft serve ice cream, no hard/scoop ice cream. They have coffee, affogato, and "Blizzardz" (which are like Dairy Queen Blizzards or McDonald's McFlurries). I had a small vanilla cone with a Pina Colada flavour burst ($2.25+$1=$3.25), and my husband had a medium vanilla cone with a coffee n' cream flavour burst ($3.25+$1=$4.25). I enjoyed my ice cream. The Pina Colada flavour was not intense enough in my opinion. I would have liked a more potent pineapple coconut flavour. My husband enjoyed his cone too. I had a taste of his and found the coffee flavour mild as well. Service was efficient and courteous. The person was wearing a mask, which I appreciated during these Covid Pandemic times. So you can only access this place while going westbound on Carling Ave (there is a median, so you cannot turn into the place while going eastbound. Also when you exit, you have to keep going westbound, which is a bit inconvenient if you want to go eastbound). You need to turn into the parking lot once you see the auto shop (Treff's Auto Centre/Coco Auto Service). If you drive until you actually see the Coco's Cafe and Creamery, it's too late, you've passed it. There is a chalk sandwich board that says "ice cream" to kind of alert you, but it's not too prominent. The ice cream shop is just a window where you order. There's 1 picnic table there where you can eat your ice cream. Or you can eat it in your car in the parking lot, lol. Or I guess you can walk along Carling Ave and eat your ice cream, although Carling is not the prettiest of streets, haha. Anyway, if you like Brett's Ice Cream but live east of Kanata and think driving to Kanata is too far, give Coco's Cafe and Creamery a try! There is free parking in the same lot as the auto centre.

I was wondering what the neon signs in the auto shop was and turns out it's an ice cream shop! $2.5…read morefor a soft serve cone? Yes please! I think this place is family owned. Super nice staff! Good soft serve! They have a much larger menu but it's hard to turn down cheap vanilla or chocolate or twist cones!

The Short Version: Bubble tea meets yogurt. So delicious!…read more The Long Version: Hi Yogurt is a Canadian company that sells yogurt drinks, bubble tea-style. They've been around since 2021 but their first Ottawa store just opened in September 2025. I stumbled across them while looking on Google Maps for new businesses in town. I popped by during their soft opening (September 12, 2025) and they had 3 specials going on: buy one get one half-price, buy 2 get 1 free, or get $2 off a single drink. Since I was only getting one drink, I opted for the $2 off, but the other 2 offers are a better deal. I got the Oat Cereal Yogurt ($6.99) and added Matcha Mochi for an additional $0.69. With the special my drink was only $5.68. I initially wanted to get no added sugar, but the cashier cautioned against it because she said it would be really sour, so I opted for the second lowest sugar amount which is 30% (the other options are half, regular and extra). I am glad that I did because 30% was the perfect amount of sweetness for my tastes. I agree that no sugar would have been too sour. I think if I had ordered a drink with fruit in it like mango or berries, no sugar would have been fine, but the oats are not sweetened and the mochi is not that sweet either. The yogurt was thick, rich and tart. It was so good. The oats gave it a nice chew and the mochi had a fun silky texture (note that the mochi is like liquid mochi in bubble tea drinks and not chewy mochi pieces like in Bingsoo or toppings found at those frozen yogurt places). I thoroughly enjoyed my drink and looking forward to returning to try their other drinks. Service was courteous and helpful. The decor is bright and cheery. There's a stuffed llama in the store. There's a bit of seating on high stools but it's mostly a takeout place. Street parking only. Review #180 (2025)
