This store has the best prices on industrial furniture in Montreal. If you are looking for an industrial hint in your decor, this is a very affordable option. There is also Style Labo on St. Laurent, which has wonderful pieces as well, but their prices tend to be 2-3 times as much as Retro Vie. The lady who owns the store, Vanessa, is very kind and helpful. She can deliver as well, for very very reasonable rates. This shop also does restorations and reupholstery of old furniture on site. I don't think they offer this service to the public, but this means that they're always bringing in great new pieces, both very antique and restored as well. Her selection is pretty wide. A lot of her wares are authentic industrial pieces from old factories (very neat), but she also has great art deco pieces as well as shabby chic pieces. She also has some very neat knick-knacks here and there.. last time I was there, she had an old insurance salesman's notebook, it was about 80 years old. Even cute industrial staplers. I love this place.

This Meubles Grand Berger flea market certainly has vintage and retro, with furniture, clothes,…read morehousewares, assorted media, etc. It's run by the Mission du Grand Berger (a.k.a., Mission of the Great Shepherd) that has a food bank and provides meals to people. You'll notice a little musty smell when you enter Meubles Grand Berger's stairs up to the first Lower Level. Don't hesitate to make it to the Upper Level next floor up because there are certainly more varied finds. Used furniture on the whole in Montreal is less expensive than comparable items in New York City, so I've been always impressed by what I've seen. Despite named "Meubles" the organized top floor in particular covers a lot of the non-furniture items. This flea market also groups together Québec related stuff, if that's of interest. It's easy to reach by Montreal's Metro. If flea markets are your thing, Meubles Grand Berger is worth checking out!

The only thing I was slightly disappointed with from here was a rose scented candle which turned out to not be that rose-scented. Stick with the homes goods, I'd say and you'll be golden.

Just the design and layout is the finest I have ever seen of a retail establishment selling whimsical, retro, antiqued item. You will find something here for every budget. All of it is very authentic and industrial, a lot of the pieces are very unique. The only downside is the prices, which can be high. If you are not on a tight budget, you will probably not find more amazing and unique industrial furniture elsewhere in Montreal. I think I spent over 5 minutes actively oogling a drafting table.

She later said it was priced at $175 and she did not remember taking $350 for it. A lot of junk not worth the price she is asking for. Gossiping jealous type. Will ask you questions that do not concern her, i.e., where do you live and how much rent you pay and how large is your apartment. Probably discounts items to her close gossiping friends. In general, a lot of junk highly priced and not worth buying. Something your grandmother would through away. Keep away from this gossiping jealous spinster. Not worth wasting your money or your time in that antique shop. It was nice when her father was alive. Now that he is gone, just a lot of overly priced trash.

Alas! A Flea market free of dust! While we have our favorite Antique store ways from Old Montréal,…read moreEcoDépôt was our answer (about a 30 minute drive from Old Montréal) for items being right up our alley with a bunch of good prices. Plus I also get a kick out of finding as many cool items in Montréal (which somehow seem to look and sound classier than the same shiit I can get back home). Covering lots of square footage, EcoDépôt is what it sounds like located in an industrial area off the highway. The first two things I noticed walking in was their Piano and Bill Withers playing. And by the way, the rest of their 60's R&B playlist was cool to hear in these parts. If it's chairs you're looking for- they have variety. Leather chairs? Several. Lamps? Many- plus so much other things. Actually one of the things hubs noticed is how clean items are and don't have years of dust on them! I'm still adding finishing touches to my vanity room and was hoping I'd find a specific stud chair here- but left empty-handed. But I did find a royal blue, metal utility box for CAN$39-which I'll repurpose for some of my items. Service was super nice from Ilene(?). I made the purchase alright, but I also wanted to close on a sweet deal- and EcoDepot didn't bulge. So just remember...there's no haggling here. Although I didn't find that perfect 'je ne sais quoi' piece that I had to have- I came out with something else.

This is a fun place to spend an afternoon looking around at vintage furniture and household goods…read more I don't understand people who go to IKEA all the time when you can just as easily hit the thrift and vintage shops and score stuff which is A) Much cheaper B) Better made, and not the usual Made in China crap C) Unique and one-of-a-kind. Chances are none of your friends will find the same Rococo-style lamp base that you might find here. I collect vintage enameled cast-iron cookware like Copco, Le Creuset, Desco and I found a few pieces here in excellent condition and at a much cheaper price than I've seen elsewhere for the same thing. I think if you have a certain eye for design and aesthetics, you can easily find some stuff here, from kitchen table sets, to old toasters from the 1940's that with a little elbow-grease and watching how-to videos on Youtube, you can easily bring back to their former glory.
