I WISH I WAS JOKING. They didn't offer to comp our lunch bill or take accountability or offer a real apology. Instead they made excuses that the mice sometimes just happen to come in. After we left I asked Google how a good restaurant owner should respond and this is what a hould have happened: This is an incredibly distressing experience, and the restaurant needs to take immediate, significant action to address both the severe hygiene failure and the psychological impact of witnessing that violence in front of your child. To make this right, the restaurant ownership and management should immediately take the following steps: 1. Financial Redress & Immediate Apology Comp the entire meal: Your bill should be completely wiped out. If you already paid, they must issue a full refund immediately. Provide formal compensation: A reputable business should offer additional compensation (such as a substantial gift certificate or direct financial gesture) along with a formal, written apology from the owner acknowledging the severity of the incident. 2. Immediate Health & Safety Measures Voluntary temporary closure: The restaurant should voluntarily close its doors immediately to address the pest issue. Professional pest control: They must hire an emergency extermination service to inspect the premises, seal entry points, and eradicate the infestation. Deep cleaning: The entire front-of-house and kitchen areas must be professionally sanitized. I did attempt to contact the owner, Oscar, numerous times same day to discuss calmly and provide him an opportunity to do the right thing but kept getting the brush off each time I tried to contact him. This is so disappointing in many ways. This was our favorite Mexican restaurant in Englewood and it's been severely tainted, not only by the obvious rodent issues but also by the lack of accountability and willingness to at least attempt to do the right thing.
