First, a disclaimer...I do not have any social media accounts. However, despite this cyber…read moreobstacle, I had to find a way to leave a review for Rita with Sort My Space Estate Sales. What began as the overwhelming loss of two parents in 2024, suddenly became a clearer path forward when Rita quickly answered my request for help. It has been a whirlwind of an estate sale, ending on March 1st, and with a "SOLD OUT" notification on the estate's page. Without question, this is the result of Rita's dedication to her business model, and her personable approach to her clients. She is professional, incredibly organized, patient, kind, trustworthy, and very knowledgeable about all of those little (and not so little) treasures that can be discovered in each home. Rita's virtual estate sales are well-known and followed events in WV; they generate a tremendous amount of interest, and the chance for so many sentimental items to find new homes. Thank you, does not begin to describe my appreciation for what Rita was able to do in a short period of time not only for me, but for the estate that I am administering as the Executrix, and as the daughter who continues to miss her parents. Please do not hesitate to contact Rita if you ready to begin the estate sales process. You will truly be amazed at what Rita and her team at Sort My Space are able to accomplish. Highly Recommend! When my close friend died in January 2021, she left a three story house in Lawrenceville crammed to…read morethe rafters with a mix of antiques, ordinary household stuff, and junk. Her only relatives are in Arkansas, so my son ended up taking care of the clean up. She was 80 when she passed and during the last decade, she had increasing mental and emotional problems, and became a hoarder, in addition to never cleaning. My son spent weeks throwing out the worst of the debris, but when we contacted Sue Baumgart at Before You Move the place was still a disaster. My first impulse was an embarrassment to have people see how bad it was, but Sue was quite reassuring and told us she's used to dealing with hoarders and messes. Sue and her team spent two or three days organizing, cleaning, pricing, and staging the sale. When I saw the photos and video tour on her website, I was absolutely stunned. Of course they couldn't do anything about cracked walls and peeling paint, but they hauled out trash and cleaned up the sale items. Before, I was worried that no one would even want to touch the things because they were covered with years of dust and cat hair. The video tour and photos made everything look great, which took a miracle, believe me. Before You Move did a wonderful job advertising the sale, and they really knew how to manage pricing and security. Many of the large antique furniture pieces didn't sell and my son has to dispose of them, but you can't force people to buy stuff. I've read several articles with titles like, "Nobody Wants Your Grandma's Dining Room Set" pointing out that big, bulky, antique furniture is simply not wanted by younger people today who mainly want lighter, airier, minimalist decor. I don't blame Sue because they didn't sell, I'm only adding this for the purpose of keeping expectations reasonable. Since my son and I aren't the owners of all this stuff the actual contract and financial dealings involved the relatives in Arkansas, but they were very pleased when they saw the set up online. If you find yourself in a similar situation of liquidating a home's contents, I would recommend Before You Move.

ROCK STARS in the region for Estate Sales/liquidation that is Sue Baumgart and her" Before You…read moreMove" crew!! If you are in need of the BEST Estate Sales' Liquidation Team in the region, who know the value of items, are extremely professional, can pull off a large estate sale in one week's time (prepping and the actual sale) and have phenomenal contacts in the antique and collectible industry..."Before You Move" is it!! Our parents' hobby for over 25 years was buying and selling antiques and collectibles. We began cleaning out our family house (of 55 years) in Reserve Township to sell this summer and were concerned about finding the right estate sales' team who would know how to sort through and price the 250+ boxes of antiques and collectibles. We hired Sue and her team from Before You Move after having four different estate sale liquidators come through our house for quotes. Before you Move was actually recommended by one of the estate sale liquidators who felt they could not accommodate how large our sale would be. Sue and her team were amazing! Sue has a large crew (6 to 7 staff) and an appraiser in the group as well. Grace, the appraiser, is a key part of the rock star team. The first morning of our sale there were over 70 people lined up around the block by 7:30 am and we didn't open the doors until 8:00 am. We even had someone come in from West Virginia that night before and sleep in their van overnight. Grace worked the crowd that first morning before the doors opened and I could see that she and Sue have a loyal following. Sue and her team did a phenomenal job at setting up in three days' time for a two day sale (our house looked like an antique store!) and their pricing was accurate. They know the value of items and know how to price them right to sell. They made a big dent in the amount of items we had through this sale. We were thrilled with the results of our sale (monetarily as well) and everything Sue said that she and her crew would do for us, they did. Her contacts are priceless! Thank you Sue, Grace and the whole Before You Move Team!

My wife had a conference at Stonewall Resort so I tagged along and looked for an auction to attend…read more I found an estate auction held by Joe Pyle. There were a couple things I noticed from attending the auction. First is that this auction company is honest. Items were described well and when there were flaws the auctioneer pointed them out. Some auctioneers will not do this. Of course items are sold as is, where is, etc but it is nice to know that the auctioneer is looking out for the buyers as well as the seller. The auctioneer was also knowledgeable about the items they were selling. Another thing I noticed, one of the helper staff went out of his way to correct an error by one of the bidders. The staff member just took it upon himself to quickly rectify the situation with no interruption to the selling. The auctioneer never knew there was a problem. It is nice to know that the auctioneer and his team have that kind of relationship so that everyone is working to provide excellent customer service. I wish I did not live 4 hours away from this auctioneer!

I won several lots at an auction. I was not able to do the pick up day due to work. My husband…read morestepped in to go pick up my items. I sent him with my invoice from the auction service. When he arrived to the scheduled pick up appointment time there were already several people there for pick up. Online it says 5-6 people are scheduled at a time. There were a lot more. That wouldn't be a problem except the workers were very overwhelmed by customers. They helped him load some things, and erroneously checked off the inventory list. When I started doing inventory, I realized several lots were missing. Some of the lots that I did get had items missing from them. I called the next morning and was directed to Colton who was in charge of the auction. The First Lady I spoke to said it was possible that the missing items were being held by the staff so she transferred me over to Colton. I will admit my attitude was probably not pleasant. I will assure neither was his. He told me that I was responsible for finding the lots I had won. He said if something was not picked up from an auction he does not have access to it any longer. (That's not what the First Lady said) He told me that I should have sent pictures with my husband to make sure that each item was in the lot. He stated that the invoice was not enough to identify what was in the lot. I spoke to him about organization and customer service. He maintained that it was my fault I did not get what I paid for. He states that they do not have enough time to check and see what everyone is picking up. He also stated that some of the pictures may have had other lots in the corner of the picture. I told him the lots were very specific in the pictures. He told me that he would refund me. He told me that he does not agree with me, and that our conversation was not going anywhere, but he would refund me.It's been 24 hours and I have not seen a refund as of yet. I paid online, I have not been refunded online. Maybe they will mail a check. Probably not. It's funny that the items of more worth in my are missing--and that is my fault. Why were the lots not organized and together? It's also funny that I found one of the exact sets of dishes on Facebook marketplace within 24 hours of the auction...exact set that I was missing. It even has the few mis matched pieces that were in the set. I have the rest of the set if that person sees this. I'll sell it to them. lol! I've typed all this to say...my first experience with Joe Pyle auction was not a good one. I got some things yes. Maybe Colton is new,I don't know. He seems like it. The auction pick up he was in charge of was chaotic. Hopefully it was just a one time thing and not how he runs things. I've been attending auctions a while. I have bought several items At a time at auctions and I have never had this happen. Not on this scale. It's no big deal, it's just stuff....but I promised Colton I'd leave an honest review and here it is! I almost forgot to add. After our first conversation he called me back to tell me that the workers seen the rest of my items at the end of the day and they wondered why no one came back for them. They checked off each lot that was loaded---well they checked it off....but I guess they didn't check it. They also told my husband that all the lots were loaded and ready according to the invoice. Colton told me that they aren't allowed to load anything, but guess what, they did. If what the workers said is true.....they didn't make one phone call, no contact....nothing. I call bull!! They had all my information. I know this sounds like I'm being a "Karen" but Colton says I'm wrong and I want everyone to know how this business operates. I don't have to be right. I just wanted him to be decent. I wish you could trust a business but you can't, not this one. I'll be keeping an eye out on the resale market for the rest of the items. I'd like to suggest a specific check out station at your auctions. This would ensure that the lots are accurate and that people aren't taking stuff. Thanks for listening.
