The first couple of locksmiths I called said they would charge $250(!) just to come out to my place because I'm on the Northshore. Tom is not based on the Northshore either, but he charged me a very fair price. The second time I called him, I had a mini-emergency involving a closet door that I really needed to access and could not open. The man who answers the phone is super rude. I asked him when and how much it would cost to simply get a new key for my very basic front door. When he told me he was slammed, I asked him when his next available date was. He said, " I don't know you may want to call someone else. " I had told him I called another couple of locksmiths and they were booked for two weeks. He said "maybe I could help you mid week." I said, "ok....Wednesday?" He said, "I don't know. I can't give you an exact time." I said, " I'm just trying to figure out what works for your schedule. You said mid week, and I suggested Wednesday." He was so rude and said "I don't think I can accommodate you, you seem to be wanting something that's impossible for me." WHAAAAT? They came out late into the night and created our replacement key ON SITE! They even created a replacement wireless FOB. These guys are wizards, absolutely recommend their services.
