We stopped by early on a Thursday evening when it was still quiet, and were blown away. Just as the ambience suggests, the menu is packed with creativity and bold experimentation--and it WORKS. Every specialty cocktail we tried was thoughtfully crafted, beautifully balanced, and genuinely impressive. Service was quick. The bartender was friendly enough without hovering or trying to make conversations, and we were perfectly happy with that. A true highlight in Bywater, and definitely a spot we'd highly recommend.

Front of the house full of different wines and the guy behind the counter was nice enough to suggest a good pairing with what we ordered to eat. My grilled pork chop with balsamic reduction was excellent. The perfect cut for such a dish. My wife loved her orechiette pasta and appetizer plate of olives. Note on the dead rat: a bartender friend told me he found one once in a bar that he worked at on Bourbon. And the good stuff about a dive: cheap cheap cheap drinks. Went in and was immediately seated, no wait time at all. the place isn't very big, so I was surprised by this. After reviewing the menu, we placed our orders for the Brewster Burger (10-ounce sirloin beef) with a loaded baked potato. I decided to try their signature drink the Boom a lache, they have a full service bar so you can order whatever you like though. My drink came out first and it was delicious, very similar to port of calls monsoon drink, and the size was huge. After a short wait the food came and we were thoroughly impressed, great burger and the loaded baked potato was just right. This is a cool event space it looks a little rough, but the movie picture quality and the sound were really good. Very close to the sound of a regular larger theatre. It has chairs and couches pretty comfortable for about 50 people. If you can catch a little small movie here or a band or a play or art exhibit check out that theater we had a good time they have a full bar. They didn't have popcorn that night, but he says they usually do. They also rent the space out for events and parties or a concert that you want play for your friends.
