I had an emergency today. I had a rapid development of pain in a tooth and swelling of my face. It was a root canal failure, which hadbeen developing over the last few years, but every time I had it evaluated, nothing definitive was found.
I was in extreme pain. Definitely an abscess.
I was also out of town and nowhere near my own dentist. To make things worse, it was Saturday, and almost no offices were open.
I did find one that was open for a few more hours. I called and a very nice person answered and was immediately sympathetic. She told me she would speak with the dentist and call me back.
A short time later she called back and said the dentist would see me (even though it would be after hours).
I went to the office, was greeted warmly, was seen quickly, and treated expertly.
Dr. Katz explained what he would do, have me options, and took care of the problem virtually painlessly. Excellent communication skills, compassionate interactions.
Alice, his assistant was just as nice.
I am a physician, and can tell you that this was an A+ patient experience.
Dr. Katz is now in my contact list, and will be my dentist away from home. read more
