Old school Dentist. Went in for an extraction and was in and out in less than an hour. The care I…read morereceived was great. The Doctor was personable and professional. The office workers and nurses were wonderful and friendly.

I unintentionally left my x-rays at home and the rude staff expressed their displeasure with eye rolls, stating "What a great start to the day". In the chair, I let the nurse know that I usually required at least two doses of novocaine. She curtly responded "we give you enough". The Doctor shuffled in, didn't introduce himself or even speak to me, just picked up the needle and said this will sting and jabbed me. After a few minutes later I still didn't feel numb and told them the tooth still hurt. Dr. Mellane jabbed me anyway, making me jump and he let out an exasperated sigh. He jabbed me with more novocaine and after a few minutes started working on the tooth. I was still not numb enough. He managed to get half the tooth out while i cried out and writhed in pain. He stopped when I cried out particularly loudly and just stood there looking away from me for at least a minute. It was extremely awkward and I finally asked "what's next?." He responded that i wasnt going to get anymore numb and that I could either wait until I finished the antibiotics I was on or I could "Deal with it". I decided to finish my antibiotics rather than have my tooth dug out of my gum when I wasn't even numb. The attitude of everyone in this office, the receptionist, the nurse and the dentist, was so cold and unsympathetic. I was referred because I have state dental and felt that my treatment was a direct result of that. I will never return to this office and would not recommend them to my worst enemy

Arrowhead Dental Associates - It feels more like a spa than a dentist. First time patients also receive a lovely gift! I'm so happy I switched dentists

If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would... I can't say enough about Arrowhead Dental…read moreAssociates and their entire staff. As a patient since 2017, I could not even imagine going anywhere else for my dental care. This staff genuinely cares about each and every patient. They consistently go above and beyond with their dental care. Doctor Brendan Gouin is just over the top amazing!!! He explains your dental plan precisely and provides informative directive on your care. He makes you feel completely comfortable and is truly a personable soul... and let's not forget about his assistant Jillian. She is the one who preps you before seeing the doctor, does the x-rays, and most importantly puts you at ease... which she has amazing powers to do... especially in stressful situations. Now that's a team!!! There have been numerous emergency procedures over the years, and the staff worked incredible magic to make sure I was seen. Brittney, for one, is a lifesaver. She worked extremely hard in finding me an opening and communicated continually with updates. Every office should have a Brittney!!! I also want to mention my regular dental hygienist Kim S. My gums are extremely sensitive and during cleanings if can be a tough job not to send me to the moon with a wrong move or sharp pain. Her personality is second to none and has an amazing sense of humor... which totally relaxes me and makes me feel comfortable. I live in North Carolina for the most part, but there is no doubt I will continue to travel to Arrowhead Dental for ALL of my dental needs. I could go on and on, but believe me... if you are looking for one of the best dental experiences of your life... Arrowhead will not disappoint. There is a reason that they have all of these great reviews and you will definitely be impressed... You may even enjoy going to the dentist now!!!

I get regular cleanings, which are thorough and I am made as comfortable as I can be. The same is said whenever I have had to have problems addressed by the Dentist (Dr. Brendan in my case). I don't have a fear of the dentist but I do have an aversion to pain. I never have to worry about the team at Arrowhead. They check in and don't rush into the procedure until they are sure you are comfortable. I have had to have a couple of "emergency" appointments, when I lost a filling. They scheduled me quickly (depending on the severity, same/next day) and addressed the issue. Once it was an easy recementing and they didn't even charge me. I am a patient for life!

Called on a Friday afternoon and had an appointment for Monday morning. The staff was so nice. I wasn't nervous at all. From the check in to paying my co pay. Everyone was amazing. I had the woman dentist- forgot her name, her and the 2 assistants were amazing and I felt nothing at all. I hope I don't need to go back but they're awesome I do need to!!!

I knew it would be difficult. I made the appointment and was asked if I wanted two appts - one with a consultation and one with the extraction. Well of course I didn't want TWO appts, I just wanted to get it done. I did not get a consultation, but when I asked the receptionist why it would be needed, she said "You know to discuss what is needed for your tooth." Well they had an Xray from another dentist. Seemed a waste of time to me. I told them about the anxiety when I made the appt ("I have extreme anxiety, so I may need addtl support during this"), I told them when I showed up (I have anxiety, I need whatever you can provide to make this easier). I told the nurse. I told the doctor. I told everyone who would listen I needed as much support as they had. Everyone nodded. There was no nitrous, no offer of sedation, no additional support beyond "we can numb you longer" which, bless them, is not really helpful when you have severe anxiety. I cried while they extracted it, but I held very very still while crying, except for the trembling, because my childhood taught me to be still during traumatic moments when I am being hurt. There were no blankets offered, no headphones available, no tvs, no distraction. Nothing at all really. Just me in a freezing cold room having trauma done to me. Does it make it any better that my insurance paid for it? Not really. I like to think Dr Castaneda would have offered nitrous or additional supports if they were available to the practice. I would have paid for any of it, no question - we could have afforded it. So clearly they just...don't? Which is awful, really. Not even one sad faded poster on the ceiling for me to stare at instead of a bright light. We are full time nomads. I saw a gyno in Austin, TX who had nitrous for the anxious. Too bad they didn't offer dental work. Spent the evening sobbing and being held. Thanks for the trauma. Will bring it to my therapist next time we meet. (three stars were for getting the tooth out, I suppose, which needed to happen, but holy crap is this going to take time to process)
