I called Kaiser and I was randomly assigned to Judy Adler, NP. I was nervous because trying to find somebody who you can trust with your life and your baby's life is not easy. I am so glad that fate brought us together. Judy is the BEST! Judy took really good care of me. Since it was my first pregnancy, I was nervous and anxious about everything. What I like about her is that she tells you exactly what you need to know about your body and your baby. She made me feel so comfortable. She creates a more personal relationship. With her, I felt like I didn't just have a doctor but a friend who really cares. Every time I have a question or unsure about my symptoms, I will send her a message through the online patient portal and instead of responding to my email she calls me right away. She made special accommodations, she would do additional ultrasound just so we can see the baby even if it's not indicated at the time of the visit. She never rushes to get out of the room ( unlike other docs that I saw when Judy was on vacation). She even emails or calls just to check up on me. I love Judy's quirky personality! Then suddenly, my hair started falling out and I was developing rashes on my face. It was frightening, to say the least. Although, before I went to Dr. Matluck, I had sought out a random ND in Southern California who was unable to help my condition after I had spent nearly $1000 out of pocket. I was extremely blessed to have found Erica. Erica, being trained in both western and alternative medicine, patiently worked with me for months to help alleviate my symptoms while finding the root cause of my rapid decline in health. I'm writing this review because they refused to give me a pap smear (yes, this is an OB-GYN…read moreclinic). The nurse practitioner I saw didn't want to perform one on me because I had already had one done two years ago. Apparently, they are only willing to do one every three years. I explained my concerns and made it very clear that I still wanted it done. The nurse practitioner actually left the room and brought in her supervisor, who gave me a lengthy "explanation" as to why I didn't need one. (This after waiting almost an hour for the appointment, which I was on time for.) I was disgusted. I get that this is a clinic, but medical professionals shouldn't brush aside a patient's concerns like this. In the time they spent lecturing me about why I didn't need a pap smear, they could have just done a fucking pap smear. It is totally reasonable for me to want one as a woman in my thirties. Later that week, I went to UCSF, and they performed one on me with no attitude whatsoever. It came back abnormal, so now I am seeking further treatment. I have been in and out of the Women's Community Clinic for over a decade. Something I am regularly struck by is not only their lack of organization, but their complete lack of regard for patient concerns. Don't get me wrong - most staff members are nice and genuinely want to create the illusion of "community" among women. Their actual care, however, is inadequate. They spend more time trying to "erase the stigma" of health issues, rather than actually attempting to treat the problem. I regret the money I have given them. I won't be visiting this clinic ever again.
