I didn't look past their fishing department but the store is huge and well stocked probably the most well stocked outdoor store in the Twin Cities. In fact you may be overwhelmed. He'll tell you exactly what you need if you want help--sometimes recommending the lower priced items over higher priced items because he's a genuine dude out to make fly anglers vs. make a buck. I've bought countless bugs from him. A rod. A waist pack. I think a t-shirt at some point. I've drank his free beer at the occasional, random store parties he decides to throw on a whim. It's a beautiful store. He even sells American made jeans if you decide that on your way to the river, you not only need bugs but also some raw denim for whatever reason.

Nothing wrong with this except it seems that a better deal always pops up right after one makes a purchase, it's very frustrating. Sometimes, extra unexplained "fees" show up at checkout, sometimes add-ons have been forced and shipped, not always smooth sailing. That being said, they have a decent selection of stuff, OK customer service and decent shipping. Their club subscription pays for itself in one big purchase otherwise, it's straight 10% off their marked price, which might or might not be inflated 20% over MSRP. Bottom line is, decent but not always the best, as always do comparative shopping, and for absolute best service/relationship, nothing beats a good LGS.

I have…read moreshopped with SG and been a buyers club member for almost 25 years until they emailed and called me suddenly saying I owed them over $1,000 for an order 1.5 years ago that they claim was charged back in my credit card. I tried to investigate but credit card companies apparently don't keep statements from that long ago and with more than 15 credit cards it was a process trying to look into all of them in the first places since I don't have a card with the number they referenced anymore. I asked the girl on the phone why they would wait so long and she said they had been busy and didn't get around to it because things were crazy there or something like that. Since I have no way to know if they are telling the truck and don't k is why my card company would have magically refused their charge after they shipped a product or why they would wait a year and a half it is easy to understand why this seems like a scam. Another bad business practice is that they allowed me to place several ammunition orders and for over a year they send back order notices and ask me to accept a new date. I clicked accept and the prices in their website kept rising and rising and it seems they don't honor the back order prices and instead say it's never in stock again so they can sell at inflated prices. Before all this is liked SG for their easy return policy, usually decent prices, easy online ordering, and decent selection of items. It's unfortunate to feel I can no longer buy because they fell apart the last couple years.
