Amazing food and coffee at this place. The star rating does not do this place justice.

Great Bakery also serves Cuban sandwiches. Come by and grab a few Cuban loaves of breads and take home some pastries.

LOVE THIS PLACE delicious sandwiches, breakfast, amazing pastries and desserts. I always stop in here with my mom when she visits. They have coffee, snacks like papas rellenos and croquetas, savory empanadas.... The pictures speak for themselves! Amazing friendly service as well.

Wonderful bakery! Todo es muy Rico! This place is a gem with a wide variety of delicacies. I was able even to find and customize a Tres Leches birthday cake. Gracias!

First visit. Found this gem. A Cuban bakery with what I crave. A meat pastelito, a guava pastelito with a cafe con leche. Delicious, remind me of the bakeries in Miami. Service was great, friendly and helpful. Everything looks so delicious. Will definitely visit again.

The Hispanic community is growing in Jacksonville, Florida, and I'm happy to say that I am loving because it provides more options for hispanic cuisine! I am from south Florida where the hispanic community is booming so there are plenty of places to go and grab some comfort food or pastries! I am glad to say that I was able to find one here in Jacksonville, Florida, located on Beach Boulevard near Southside. Katy's Bakery has a ton of food options such as sandwiches, pastries and cakes. Sandwiches vary from Cuban sandwich to noche buena. Sweet pastries like dulce de leche, flan or alfajores. Salty pastries such as papa rellena and empanadas. My favorite was the cakes! Oh my the cakes were all mouthwatering. My husband and I walked in and purchased like 10 empanadas because we couldn't help ourselves. The main thing that caught our eyes were the cakes. One in particular was the dulce de leche cake. My birthday was right around the corner so I told my husband he had to get it for me! I was a bit afraid it would be hard or dry but it wasn't! It was soft and sweet on the inside! The dulce de leche was fresh and smooth. On my birthday, my family and I devoured my dulce de leche birthday cake that we purchased here! Ps: My husband added some finishing touches such as my name and bought some birthday candles for me to blow out. I highly recommend, especially their cakes! Enjoy!

    Cakes, bread, cupcakes. Yum.

This. Place. Rocks. We ordered way more food than we needed because, well, because it all looks delicious. We had a jamon y queso sandwich heated up. Absolutely incredible. I haven't even finished eating and I already want more food. 10/10. Hidden gem. This is an absolute must if you're in Jax.

This great bakery is a hidden treasure! I stumbled upon it and stood in awe of the incredible selection of pastries they have. Whether it's a single serving treat for yourself or a cake for that last minute party, stop in and treat yourself!

Bakery with the lights off at 7:07 as you can see by the car clock.

Do they have indoor seating? Thanks

The place is remodeled now. It has 5 tables so you can enjoy your con leche and pastries or Cuban sandwich.

Do they make tres leches cake?

They have tres leches dessert. They make cakes so is very likely that you can order a tres leches cake!

Do they have Boston cream pies?

They have just about anything imaginable there. But, I am not 100% sure.

Everything seemed crisp and clean! My favorite was the Ube cheesecake. It was a uniquely different flavor I wasnt expecting. Not too sweet either. The bischoff caramel crepe was not a fan favorite. I dont know what I was expecting but that wasn't it. It was soggy and not pleasing to my palate or my husband's. The strawberry shortcake was okay. I dont eat a lot of strawberry shortcake so I'm not sure what I was expecting. This shortcake seemed like it had more whipped cream than anything and maybe that's how they are supposed to be....but Im not sure. The vanilla bean cheesecake was also very good. I will be going back for another slice. Not too sweet, not dry. Nice and creamy. The service was good.

I made it my mission to find the and send her fresh mooncakes. I was thankful for this establishment, as they had five different flavors of mooncakes. This was the only place I located, close enough to Callahan, that actually sells mooncakes. They are located inside of R & D International Market. The bakery is well stocked with a very off sweet treats or savory baked goods. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They labeled each mooncake so we knew the flavors, as they are indivvidually wrapped. We shipped them overnight to her. We also bought doubles so we could try them.as well. The flavors were black sesame, green tea, pineapple, red bean and lotus. The black sesame and red bean were very dense. The lotus and green tea were a lighter texture with great flavor. Our favorite was the lotus with the red bean in second place. It is a quiet, quaint spot among the food court with a few tables to enjoy your purchase while you are there.

The next morning, we had the sausage and scallion bun at home. I liked it, maybe more than the pork bun, and would get it again, though it had the advantage of being reheated at home in the microwave. My wife liked the dough, the hot dog less so (and I must admit the hot dog in the croissant we had a while ago at Cruffin & Tea was better). I'd get this again, though probably trying the regular hot dog bun instead of the scallion one next time. I'd asked the server if she could reheat our items when I bought them, but she said no, and didn't seem to understand English well. So far, I've preferred the savory things to the sweets here. Each item was $3-3.25, so a better value than the other bakeries I go to. I will return to this place periodically, but I still prefer places like Cruffin & Tea and Le Petit Paris, so I'm giving Mai Xiang Garden Bakery an average rating, 3 stars: pretty good, but not above average for a bakery, other than the good value.

I got the German chocolate cake (this apparently isn't their normal one) and my husband got the dulce cheesecake. The waitress we had was great, and she recommended lots of tips and favorites to try. Our waiter, Evan, was very proactive & offered suggestions with menu items. We started with some cocktails, the gentlemen with the cider beer & an old fashioned. I chose a glass of bubbly & the birthday girl had the fizz cocktail. It was incredible with a fresh blackberry puree. We started with the fried green tomatoes & the calamari, both were delicious! Calamari was prepared well and not too chewy. We shockingly each chose a salad: the bistro steak, the chop chop Asian, the goat cheese, and the salmon. Each one was incredible. Mine was the chop chop and I absolutely loved it! It was HUGE and you can bet I ate every single bite. Loved it!' We finished with the brownie topped with ice cream for the birthday girl, it was extremely tasty! Thanks again to Evan for making our night! He was a fantastic waiter!
