Dr. Maasoumi is a phenomenal dentist. She's very patient and really takes the time to make sure you are comfortable. She's very knowledgeable and explains everything she is doing. Her staff is also fantastic!!!! Over the years I have seen several dentists and I have never had a better experience. Her office is small and cozy. She accommodated my appointments with my busy schedule and her front office staff is always professional and friendly. I never noticed anyone else waiting either. I've always wanted a Hollywood smile, but never thought I could afford it, and was also very scared about the procedure. After visiting with her and her staff a couple of times, it became very clear that she is the dentist for me, and worked with me on pricing based on my needs. She took the time to explain the process to me, and made suggestions based on my smile, jaw, facial structures, and overall look. I now have a beautiful "HOLLYWOOD" smile that I am totally in love with. I couldn't be happier with the results! Typically, I experience a lot of pain and sensitivity post treatment, but following Dr. Maasoumi's services I felt completely fine. She has a very light hand and her injections go unnoticed. Since that location has new management, I'm posting my experience here.** Going to Dr. Maasoumi's practice was a nightmarish experience. Even though I have dental insurance, my 7 fillings and crown cost $1400. Dr. Maasoumi will ask you to upgrade services after you've already been seated and given the novocaine. She is out to get your money no matter how unethical her behavior is. Luckily I filed a grievance with my dental insurance and they verified that she overcharged me $1,175 for all services she provided and I'll be getting a refund. I feel bad for any other patient that has gotten ripped off by her thinking that her rates "normal". If you know what's good for your mouth and wallet, DO NOT see Dr. Kathy Maasoumi. read more

The worst dentist and scammer I've ever been too. She caused me $3000 so far in dental repair after majorly botching a simple filling (which I believe she did one purpose). She literally destroyed 2 neighboring teeth and caused me to get a root canal for the one that she 'fixed'. You're money is better spent elsewhere. read more

Because I left my identification card at the office I called three times left a message first week staff kept calling but not even attempting to be there on the second week when I stopped by and since now the office has not generously mailed it to my address not a good caring business they have contacted me on behalf of the Corona virus for updates when to come in either. read more

I had a very negative experience coming here. One of my fillings I had done somewhere else fell out and I needed to have it replaced. I did not have dental insurance and was in college so I was looking for somewhere inexpensive which led me to Kathy. (Learned my lesson don't go to the cheapest place and expect quality...) The receptionist who greeted us, and also ended up being the dental assistant was an elder man who smelled so strongly of cigarettes that it was difficult to stand next to him. Kathy was very unprofessional and kept insisting I didn't need more litiocane even though I was lightly crying in the chair as she worked on me. She even went so far as to say that she didn't want to open up another vial of it because they were expensive?! She then kept trying to sell me more cleaning services even though I told her I only wanted the filling. I felt trapped in her chair as she kept insisting I stay and using a camera in my mother to show me things that needed to be cleaned. I was completely taken aback from the experience. read more

I also had a bad experience with Dr. Maasoumi when she had an office at the Bonaventure. I had a crown done in 2010 and the next dentist immediately noticed that it was not a good fitting crown. It didn't last long and had to be redone. Would not recommend. read more

I really dislike writing bad reviews but honestly I had the worst experience here. I had a few of my teeth that needed to be refilled done by this dentist and she decided to do them all in one session at the end of the day when she kept telling me how tired she was and wanted to go home. Very unprofessional of someone to say those things when you have a new patient. I was in pain for over two months and had to go to a different dentist and get them all fixed again. Sorry but I cannot recommend this dentist to anyone. read more

I have been going to Kathy Maasoumi for over 10 years. She is an exceptional dentist whom is caring, kind, professional, wonderful, and knowledgeable. Being a curious individual who always wants to learn, I would ask her about my dental care and how to care of my teeth. And she was always patient with me and intelligent/informative in her responses. I learned a great deal about my dental health from her! She was amazing with my teeth regarding orthodontics, fillings, and preparation/post-recovery of my maxillofacial surgeries. She was very supportive when I had braces; and also before/after having maxillofacial surgery for my unequal jaw growth on my face. If it wasn't for her support, honesty, and integrity as my dentist, I don't know how I would have recovered from my major jaw surgery. She was there for me every step of the way during my 1 year recovery period with follow up appointments. I'm blessed with a beautiful smile because of Kathy Maasoumi's competent work and collaborative work with my oral maxillofacial surgeon! Also, she was there for my recovery from extraction of wisdom teeth with another oral maxillofacial surgeon. I'm a lucky girl to have had Kathy Maasoumi as my dentist. I have a lot of respect for her after all the hard work she did for my teeth. Every day when I look at my smile, I remember the time and effort she dedicated to my teeth. I used to have difficulty in speaking, eating, swallowing, and breathing due to my improper teeth alignment and unequal bone growth. Now, I have no difficultly..and words can't describe how fortunate I feel to be able to eat with no pain, speak, swallow, and breathe well for the rest of my life! I think choosing a dentist who is there for you every step of the way..is SO important especially for recovery of surgeries! So choose Kathy Maasoumi! Her work is worthwhile! And I am very appreciative that my mother recommended me to have her my dentist during my awkward developmental stages of life. Wow! I brought my daughter in here today to see a female dentist, possibly some compassion since my daughter has dental anxiety. When someone came out to take us back to begin x-rays, I asked my daughter if she was going to be able to do this. The person there, who later turned out to be Dr. Maasoumi (had never introduced herself), asked why we she wouldn't be able to do this. We attempted to explain the anxiety but the Dr. decided that she wouldn't be able to deal with it and told us to leave and go somewhere else. On our way out the door, Dr. Maasoumi called me an "ass-hole." So much for compassion and understanding with a professional approach. You will not get it here! read more

Dr. Maasoumi is amazing!!! She has been practicing dentistry for over 25 years! She went to one of the best dental schools in the country. USC School of Dentistry is not only profound academically but they are also known for their unique Hands-on Dental Program. She's won Best Dentist in Downtown LA a few years in a row but now has moved to Orange County in Lake Forest. I have been seeing her for 20 years now. She does all mine and my sister's dental work she has even done my braces and I still get compliments on my perfect smile!! I would recommend her to anyone who wants quality dental work. I don't understand why yelp keeps deleting my reviews of Dr. Maasoumi! She's truly a wonderful dentist. Over the years I've had 2 of my wisdom teeth removed, done 3 root canals and a crown and I'm currently having the clear correct done (similar to Invisalign) and Dr. Maasoumi has been nothing but amazing! She always accommodates my busy schedule and personally calls after procedures to make sure I'm doing ok. I absolutely love her and she's taken the dread and stress out of dentist visits. I went to Dr. Maasoumi to get some major dental work done. I was greeted by kind and personable staff. The wait was not long and I was seen at my scheduled appointment time. Her office is clean and everything is organized. Moreover, she is knowledgeable and professional. She constantly asks if you you are doing okay or if you feel any pain. She took time to explain the process to me and was patient with my questions. I thought I would have to pay a good amount of money for the amount of work I was getting done but she was able to give me a good price even though i don't have insurance. I have been in multiple dentist offices so far but she is the best dentist that I have ever seen. First of all , there is no delay in front desk . Second they start their work on time.
