Wow. If I could give a zero rating I absolutely would have. I never leave reviews, but I feel due to the nature of my experience I have to in this instance. I will be filing a formal grievance with whoever I need to. I want people to know how nutty and unprofessional this man is and I don't want others to go through what I went through. I'm sure there are others out there way worse than I am medically, and it would be highly detrimental to their care if they had to deal with him like I did. I am fortunate enough to be in a good place right now and will hopefully not be injured too greatly by seeking care elsewhere.
First of all, after only 3 or 4 visits, he dropped me as a patient and told me to find a new doctor. This has never happened to me before so I was confused and taken aback. I asked why and his staff told me that he claimed he was "too stressed" to deal with me essentially. I had only seen this guy a few times! What is he talking about? Then they immediately cut to the part about my previous doctor sending them my medical records and trying to somehow make me feel bad for it. Like I did some terrible thing. Just blew my mind. HE is the one who told me to do that! I dont get it! And why would that upset a doctor anyways?? You'd think you'd want to know your patients medical history especially being a new patient with him. I thought there surely is some sort of misunderstanding maybe he confused me with another patient, but nope.
He was always late to the scheduled appointments by SEVERAL HOURS. One time I had an appointment scheduled at 1pm and he called at 7pm. Who does that?
He is not interested in the patients' needs at all. The only reason I had to establish care with him was because I moved counties and my insurance changed as a result. He wouldn't prescribe me the medications I had been on for over 4 years. He told me to get him my previous medical records, so I did. Then the staff called me to complain that they got so many pages for my medical records and why were they receiving it. The staff told me that Dr. Kataria told them to tell me that he was not going to give me disability. I WAS NOT ASKING for disability so I have absolutely no clue whatsoever why he said that. I told them there must be some sort of misunderstanding. I am not requesting that at all. I was only sending over my old records to his office. I asked if they could inform him of his error, but that I would look for a new doctor like they told me because he is obviously quite terrible at his job and probably a person too.
In the same phone call, they told me he didn't want to see me anymore. This is beyond strange and unprofessional. I did exactly as he asked and I had to strongly advocate for myself in order to get basic medication that I have been taking for many years. One time he didn't even put in 1 of 2 of my medications in for refill.
In all of our visits, he would ask inappropriate questions or make snidey and condescending and offensive remarks. Each time I got off a call with him I felt so bad about myself and offended by how he was treating me and what he was saying. In all, he didn't let me speak much. He would talk over you and try to get off the call super fast (even though at this point I have waited several hours to be seen). The only time I saw his attention peak was when he asked me about my "sexual activity," which to me kind of felt inappropriate and out of place. He doesn't make eye contact and doesn't look in your direction. Its like he is running through a script and trying to get you in and out as quickly as possible. I think our visits averaged 15 minutes and I have the records to prove it because they were via Skype during the covid-19 situation. I'm sure he probably charges the visits off as longer than they are.
He will ask you unrelated questions to your visit and he even mentions his yelp page because he wants more positive reviews since its so bad. At the time, I hadn't bothered to check his yelp page because I never thought he would be this bad. I figured a doctor could not possibly be this aggredious, but the sad truth is that he is. I really wish I had checked out his reviews when he mentioned them. What I read here is equal parts despicable and so true. When SO many people are reporting the same things over the course of many years, you should definitely see a red flag.
Since I have to reestablish care with someone else, I hope it is not difficult to get my medical records from him. I read another review on here that he refused to give the patient his records even though its required by law. I'm just so perplexed as to how someone like this is has been allowed to practice like this for so many years. If you get him, don't waste your time giving him the benefit of the doubt like i did. Do yourself a favor, and just go somewhere else. read more
