Two Saturdays ago, I was in the area and needed a drugstore. I did a search and found this Shoppers…read moreDrug Mart (SDM). It was a six-minute drive from where I was. This SDM is in a busy plaza anchored by Sobeys across from it. I found a parking spot fairly close to the main doors. I backed into it and headed inside. The layout is similar to most SDMs. It was easy to figure out which aisles I needed. I hit the vitamin aisle first. I was pleased that there was a vitamin sale going on. Two other shoppers, both men, were looking at vitamins, too. I got what I needed and continued exploring. This store had a decent selection of plushies. There were a couple of massive teddy bears. I know that they'd fit in my car, but where would I put them at home? Maybe one could be a guard by the door? I got some pop. I forgot to get a carton of eggs. The best price for a dozen is at SDM and Rexall on the weekend these days. A carton goes for $3.49. I hit the self-checkout area and scanned my items. I then loaded them into my reusable bag. I scanned my PC Optimum card and then paid with a credit card. Easy peasy! I placed my items in my car and started to leave. You do need to drive with caution in this lot. There are some drivers who enjoy driving in the middle of a roadway and aren't considerate. I witnessed it first-hand trying to leave. I couldn't because this person was hogging the road and holding up everyone around him. Other than this jerk, I enjoyed shopping here. Maybe it's more relaxed when it's not a weekend. (26)

He apologized when I asked him why he wasn't wearing his mask properly. I thought masks were compulsory. This Shoppers pharmacy gets consistently bad ratings, I have found the staff rude, and ignoring customers or simply walking away in mid sentence. I'm actually thinking of changing pharmacies - no mask was the last straw and it is against the law.

Though the sign says 'Shoppers Drug Mart', this store really is all about beauty. It houses a…read morereally large Beauty Boutique that competes with The Bay and Sephora for beauty brands. This particular store is large, clean, and has brands like Dior, Clarins, Lancome, Guerlain, and all sorts of pharmaceutical skincare from around the globe. Though the actual footprint of the store isn't as big as their outside ones, the beauty boutique is quite large. At least half the store is dedicated to beauty. I love it personally as the Optimum point reward plan is amazing and I can get high end beauty products at 20x points or free here. The service is always friendly though at times they can be busy and it maybe hard to find someone. I love how they have everything from high end Guerlain to low end Cover Girl. It really meets everyone's needs. They also have a constant stream of sales on their mid to low end skincare. This store also has a Canada Post office in the back and it's really darn convenient and quick. I've never had to wait to mail something and their service is very quick. The food section is tiny but this store isn't geared towards it other than quick gourmet snacks. There's not a lot of granola or low end food products here. Most things here are sugary high end brands like Brookside dark covered blueberries, Lindt Bars, or Godiva bars. I even spotted some Green & Black here too. Their vitamin section is fairly sizeable and perfect for me to grab something to reach the Optimum point limit. The check out service is really good here and stands out. Their front staff is always aware of any line ups and do not hesitate to ask for help to open up another till. They're efficient and fast! It's one of the better Shoppers Drug Marts I've been to... it's clean, well organized, and well stocked.

I immediately went into planning mode to send her off on a cheerful note. Setting up where we were going to eat for her farewell was easy. I had bought the perfect greeting card while I was in the Twin Cities. She is an avid reader. I had pooled funds from our department towards an Indigo gift card. I needed to get the gift card. I was flying back to Toronto from Minneapolis. Had my flight been on time, it would have arrived at 7 pm in Mississauga. By the time I fetched my car from my workplace's parking lot and headed to the nearest Indigo, I would have made it before it closed at 9 pm. My flight was delayed by 1.5 hours. I tossed out plan. Thanks, Air Canada! I always have at least one backup plan. You truly do, especially when Air Canada is a part of it. Plan B was to hit the nearest Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) and get a gift card. From my workplace, I am fortunate that I have three SDM stores to choose from. However, considering that it was nearly 10 pm, the choice was obvious. I drove over to this one in Rockwood Mall. Why do I love this store already? It's open till midnight. My usual SDM that I frequent closes a lot earlier. I had no problem heading over here. It's roughly a five-minute drive from my workplace. There was plenty of parking available and it was fairly busy on a Tuesday evening. I backed into a parking spot and walked into the store. This store is designed like most SDMs. You walk in and the beauty boutique is right in front of you. I didn't need to focus on my beauty after having travelled back. Okay, maybe I did and I chose not to. I needed a gift card. Luckily, I found the gift cards immediately. They tend to be by the greeting cards. I picked up one and then browsed around the store a bit. I was happy to see Squishmallows. There weren't a lot of them. However, they were so cute that it didn't matter. I looked at vitamins, shampoo, and the food aisles. This store has a nice selection of bread. Maybe the folks in this neighbourhood love carbs. The bread varieties were definitely better than what I get at my local SDM. I lined up to pay. There was only one cashier. Another female staffer came over and said that I could use the self-checkout kiosk. I said that I had a gift card. Could I activate it at a kiosk? She said yes. Cool! In the past, I was always told that a cashier could only specify the amount on a gift card and activate it. This woman was awesome. She stepped me through everything. I loaded $150 on the card and paid with a debit card. Done! I thanked the nice woman. She was great. I headed to my car and drove to a hotel nearby work. It was so late that I opted to say in Mississauga. It would make my commute to the office the next day easier. The gift card worked without a hitch. My friend was ecstatic to get it. All ends that ends well, as the saying goes. I appreciate that this SDM was open. It played a huge part of my planning my friend's parting gift. I'd return when I'm back in the area and need something at this store. The hours and staff are awesome. (365)

I know that Rexall does because I am such a fan of this brand. I did a quick search and found this Rexall at Cloverdale Mall. I haven't been to this mall in ages. I used to go often after work (old office) when I needed a map or cheap Disney tickets at the CAA Store across the street. Afterwards, I'd hit the mall. Ah, memories! This store is near the old Zellers-Target store, which is now a vaccination centre. There was plenty of parking. I pulled into a rather close spot to the entrance and walked in. I love that Rexall has its own entrance when it's a part of a mall. I don't have to go through the mall entrance and spend more money than needed. What was interesting was that the mall entrance from this store was blocked off. I found my gummies. Mission accomplished! This store has a DAVIDs Tea section. I was so happy to see a decent selection of teas. It has a store at Sherway Gardens, but it's nice that you can grab some tea here. The clearance section is in the middle of the store. I was happy to see it, but didn't snag any deals that I needed. The umbrella section stands out at this store. There are automatic and stick umbrellas to choose from. I played with one of the former ones. It works well and the price is decent for what you get if you are trapped in a rainstorm. There's a relaxed vibe at this store that I like. A woman asked the cashier where a couple of items were located in the store. I liked how friendly and helpful she was with her answers. I got this same woman when I was ready to pay for my items. I got my rewards barcode scanned from my app. I paid with a debit card. Tap. Paid. Yay! I had a great experience here. When I'm in this area again and need a Rexall, I'm here! (387)
