Argue till the cows come home. It's Iranian. It's Persian. How about a beautiful representation of both? I honestly come here for the hummus. Easily the best in London, possibly the best in Ontario. I also recommend the Shishlik and the kebabs. Everything is plated so beautifully you almost hate digging in. The servers are friendly and efficient. I'm not a fan of the decor or the atmosphere. As my cousin Jarvis says "Your not eating the decor." Which I find to be a stupid saying, but message received. Thursday evenings are very slow so we copped a lot of attention. Food is great but the customer service is absolutely terrible. Was offered a free lambshank platter for my next visit because the one I was given had barely any meat on it. Fine. Called in today to claim my free one.. Manager fussed about it being 6 weeks ago. I wasn't told there would a time limit. I only wanted what was offered to me, but he just made me feel like a needy person. I don't care how busy you are, if you want returning customers you better treat them a little better than beggars. Inconspicuous little place, hidden behind the trees, easily missed while looking @ the Enterprise Car Rental next to it. Went there with a couple friends who had an awesome experience the day before. Ambiance. Simple, nothing extravagant. Items kept on the tables not cleaned for a while. Service: Super super slow. Took close to 30 min before I got the orders for the shawarma. This was when the restaurant had two more customers besides us. The gentleman asked me what I'd like in the shawarma and being as big as I am I could look down and see into the hidden items they had. For a shawarma, the size of the chopped tomatoes was way too big, same with the other veggies. It was more akin to a sub. Not a shawarma. The shawarma itself. Small, dry chicken, dry shawarma, barely any sauce. Did I mention small? It wasn't even wrapped tight, then again being all empty inside pretty much made it so you have more bread than anything else. I also had the Koobideh Kabab sandwich. Which was even smaller than the chicken. I will admit the taste wasn't all the bad, it was just barely alright. Also their homemade hot sauce which was basically ground up green chillies and possibly a few herbs was delicious. Made the rest of the stuff palpable. My buddies who'd brought me there felt that it was great the day before but today was pretty bad. That would imply that it's not constant which isn't all that nice. We love this restaurant. There are a couple of items that are outstanding and we always order them, so we haven't sampled extensively from the menu. We typically order the dark meat chicken skewers, and the ground beef skewers. Both are excellent. Neither of us are rice people, so we always get all salad instead of the rice/fries. We order the greek salad and it is amazing! I don't know what they put in the dressing, but it is delicious. read more

This place has been constantly deteriorating since the new management has taken over. the rice is unlike an good persian you try anywhere else, the lamb is frozen, and the chicken is always burnt! the beef is sometimes ok. I've given it many chances since its the only one in London, but I'd never go again, it's worth a trip to Toronto to experience the amazing true persian. The last straw was the remarkable deterioration in service, they have become very rude, and today I found out that they would serve their friends before people who are waiting ! had to leave today without eating after waiting for an hour and 10 minutes and seing people they know being served in 5 minutes. When complained to server she said: are you in a bad mood today? when complaining to the girl who claims to be the owner she was of no help! Spare yourself the humility, terrible service for below average food. Oh, and the atmosphere sucks too ! read more

I'm surprised by the negative review. Karoon has had consistently good food when I've ordered or eaten in. The platter for 4 is a great platter to share and has a good selection of meats. Their ground beef kebab is a great menu item that I fully recommend. read more

After passing this restaurant many times on Oxford, thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did and learned my lesson; won't be ordering from here again, as there are several other Middle Eastern restaurants in London where the flavours, prices and portions are far more satisfactory. Definitely did not get my money's worth. Ordered takeout (chicken kebobs, with sides of hummus and garlic sauce). Portion size was small. If I hadn't ordered the sides, I would have gotten two small kebobs on a limp pita-- that's all, for over $10. Service was prompt (takeout ready in less than 15 minutes) and friendly. Barakat's portions and bang for your buck (i.e. same price, and comes WITH cabbage, garlic, hummus, etc.) are much more substantial. read more

I love the food here but there is an angry lady out there who tends to misbehave with the customers. I asked for two kids meal but she refused to give that because we only had one kid with us. That is so mean in every aspect. The owner is a very pleasant personality but we decided we would not go there anymore because of that arrogant woman. read more

This restaurant was recommended to me by several London friends for take away schwarma, but I had never had a sit down meal till recently. A very pleasurable experience for inexpensive dining- the lentil soup alone should put them on the map- the best I've ever tasted and it came with generous portions of pita bread and lemon. A lunch in itself. Great lamb shanks and chicken kebob. Convenient small mall parking so beats downtown traffic- the kind of place that could become a 'regular' for sure- and easy on the pocket. read more
