I don't recommend this store at all. The entire time neither of the two women working there said hello, can we help you, or thanks for stopping in. They didn't once acknowledge me. I find this rude and unprofessional and would've purchased items otherwise. Take your money elsewhere. This is a terrible store, everyone we came in contact with was extremely unprofessional and too caught up in their conversation to bat an eye in our direction. I was shopping with a friend of mine in Karma last week, we went in the back where the clothing was. The employee was a man and he was sporting a gun in a holster on his belt. This made me so uncomfortable that I immediately walked out and will never step foot in this place again. I can never imagine why an employee would need to carry a gun to work in a clothing store, I know that South Dakota is an open carry state but what is he going to do, shoot a teenage shoplifter, or any shoplifter for that matter. My only take away from this is the man must be over compensating for other inadequately endowed parts and a gun makes him feel like a big, tough guy. If you want to risk your life to look for a pair of jeans then karma is the place for you, otherwise, run for your life, no pun intended. read more

It's a little like Anthropologie. But affordable and the staff is actually nice. Karma has a great spot across from Rapid City's Main Street Plaza. It is a very wise idea to pop over here if you are downtown. The selection of clothing, footwear and accessories is to die for. I would love to spend a few good hours pouring over everything in the store. It's obvious a lot of care has been put into the buying process. I was vacationing when I stopped in so I only bought a few things. When I got back home I couldn't stopped obsessing over a unique fragrance I spritzed on my wrist. I took a gamble and called them hoping they might know what the hell I was looking for. Lucky for me, they knew exactly what I wanted, and helped me figure out the slight nuances of searching for the same thing online. Stopped in on Sunday. None of the three employees who were sitting at the register could be bothered to acknowledge my presence or say hello. Disappointing since they had cute stuff. Was looking at a $295 leather jacket but since it seemed no one cared to assist, decided to move on. read more

If you are looking for a store with great merchandise yet you are invisible to the sales staff and they are repeatedly confused that you ask for help, this is your place! There were no other customers when my daughter and I walked in the store, yet the salespeople were too engrossed in conversation to say hello, smile or make eye contact. Even though my daughter was walking through the store carrying several items of clothing, they didn't ask if we needed help or if they could start a dressing room for her. After we gave them some items we were going to buy and they knew we were going to spend over $300, they still were not quite motivated to help us. I continually had to interrupt their conversation to get assistance or have a question answered. I owned a women's clothing store and would have been irate if anyone treated my customers the way I was treated here. read more

I received a Christmas gift from and friend and it didn't quite work for me, so I took it back to the store and asked if I could exchange for something different. I was told that I could not exchange or return the item, because I didn't have a gift receipt. I told them again it was a gift with no gift receipt, but that didn't matter. Now in order to exchange it I would have to call my friend to get a receipt. How uncomfortable for me. I was also going to look for something different for my Holiday Party, so I would have spent some money at the store. However now I will never shop there again. read more
