Had to wait 2 weeks for visit to find out I had prostate cancer. Dr recommended radiation. Was told about Gleeson score which measures the cancer pattern. It was difficult to understand and I was asking questions as he was walking out of the examining room telling me "you're not as bad as Biden". He spent approximately 4 minutes with me telling me a diagnosis that would change my life. However, the worst part is the Gleeson score was incorrect and considered high risk. I was so unhappy with this Dr.I went to MEMORIAL SLOAN KETTERING IN NYC. They didn't accept Dr. Shahbandi's diagnosis and resent all specimens to their own lab. Lo and behold my GLEESON score was incorrect and came back lower, which means I was now considered low risk. I know you don't have to like a dr's personality but as long as he is an excellent physician. This Dr. not only has no bedside manner, but is an inadequate Dr.

I went in for detox and it took them 10 hours to find me a room. While waiting, I spoke to several…read moredoctors and told them I was nauseous and I couldn't eat anything. It took them 12 hours to get me medication for that. I also complained about pain in my head, in my broken ankle, and in my previously operated knee and hip, as well as nerve damage in my shoulder. They also blew a vein and my hand swole up so much. They did NOTHING about any of that so I AMA'd and they didn't even give me a metrocard to get home. Thankfully I got home well and safe after enduring the heat waiting for the buses. I wouldn't recommend this hospital to anyone. They are incompetent and horrible.
