There is a huge Indian Restaurant in our area near Murphy Road and 59, starts with an A and ends with an a, where they really pack the crowds in, and I can say unequivocably that Bonsouth's butter chicken is better (more flavorful). My partner ordered spicy chicken tikka masala, which he said was excellent. We had buttered naan and garlic naan, and both were fresh and delicious. Complementary basket of a very thin fried batter (?) (I forgot to ask what it was) was provided for the table when we sat down, which was tasty and a nice touch I've never seen at the other Indian restaurants we've been to in our area or Houston. They didn't have iced tea, which my partner orders when we eat out, so we ordered the (hot) chai tea, which our waiter explained is boiled with cardamom and ginger and finished with the addition of a little milk, and it was so good we had to order a second. We also tried the gulab jamun (fried dumpling served in rosewater syrup). It was hot and fresh and so very delectable. My partner had never had it before and he loved it so much that, even though he's not normally a sweet eater, he ate more than his share, LOL. It's a small restaurant but comfortable, with padded booths and soothing music overhead, just loud enough to be a pleasant backdrop to conversation and not at all obtrusive. The staff were friendly and very attentive and happy to interact and tell us all about their dishes. We noticed several takeout orders being picked up while we were there. We will definitely go back soon and highly recommend it.

They were so kind and accommodating to anything and everything we needed. The owners were also so accommodating with our reservations as we had two unforeseeable conflicts that came up on the same days we had planned the party. We ended up having to switch from a Saturday to Sunday which reduced our overall number, but y'all were so understanding and accommodating. My family and I truly appreciate everything. My parents had such a wonderful time and thank you. If you're looking for amazing food or a place to celebrate an event, this is a great spot for any occasion!

The Thali is a platter that comes with 3 different curries or stews, 3 types of breads, rice, dessert, and a samosa. While I am not very knowledgeable about Indian cuisine and have no basis of comparison, the three curries and breads were delicious. Of the three curries, the paneer masala was my favorite and I enjoyed all three breads. The vegetable curry and lentil stew were both equally delicious and offered a change of pace from the paneer masala. The samosa was a bit of a miss for me due to the shell being a bit on the thick side, but the spices and tamarind chutney were good, but not outstanding. The benefit of ordering the Thali is that it is an affordable way to sample a very good variety of foods with the option or order more of whatever included curry, bread, samosa, rice, dessert completely free as a part of the Thali set. Would I go back? Yes, I would go back to have the Thali again but I'm unsure if I would be adventurous enough to order a full portion of a single curry or dish simply out of unfamiliarity with Indian cuisine.
