I guess we could have called; but exploring the island is part of the fun being there. You can dine in or carry out. Be careful getting to the place, as it's easy to get tangled up with the line to the ferry. The kid who waited on us was smiling and pleasant. The pie took about 15 minutes and we got it piping hot. We went back to the Hotel Washington and sat at a front yard table and enjoyed our pizza listening to red eyed vireos. Made our car smell like pizza for two days. The pizza itself was okay. A lot of cheese and toppings. They certainly don't scrimp. Washington Island is a nice place to spend a few days. Sometimes you just want a pizza. You can get a decent one here.

In fact, they're all quite worth the wait. I get it; it's the island. You may be hangry because you tried other places, but they just didn't cut it, maybe. This place does, though there may be a bit of a wait. It's normal to have to wait a bit when there are visitors on the island, so if you can endure, I think you'll enjoy what you get. Outdoor seating is spacious, and there's a bar area if you need a drink while you wait. I grabbed the Dagwood because I was in the mood for a big ole sammich. It was great, and washing it down with a refreshing IPA hit the spot. The weather was a bit warm out there, so the combination was really a win. There's an assortment of outdoor games, or you can stroll around the various places nearby, like Jackson Harbor, the Maritime Museum, or hop on a boat and go to Rock Island afterwards and take a hike to the lighthouse. They have Wi-Fi, but in most places on the island, your connection is going to be hit-or-miss.

After realizing the tables in the back were moved together, I very politely approached the young man along with a second older man (longer mixed grey hair, who was feverishly writing something down). I politely said, "excuse me, do you mind if we put together the tables like the one on the back?" Before I even finished the sentence the older man quickly turned around and literally screamed as loud as he could "NO WE DONT DO THAT!" Then turned right around and started writing. I was so taken aback - that I walked back to our table and sat. The young man came over clearly embarrassed by what happened and apologized saying the other man was having a bad day.
