Well, this shop was quite a ways out of my way, but I'd heard it's the best Comic Book shop in the area, so I made the trek. And it was absolutely worth it! I've recently gotten back into Comics because of Netflix (with Arrow, the Flash, etc) and all the big box movies over the past few years (X-men, the Avengers, Batman Begins). And although I'd read some when I was younger, I really haven't read much. So, I'm expanding my horizons! And, also, there's a comic series that covers the time between the old Star Wars and the new movie coming out next month. How do you pass that up? Kapow really was exactly what I'd been looking for, it's good-sized with a great selection. They've got the latest and greatest as well as a lot of the classics, they've got massive "bargain bins" in back where you can get comics for $1 apiece. With a little patience, you can find some great stuff in there! Also, top-marks for their back shelf, one of which is specifically comics written by Arkansans (nice!), another of which is Staff Picks, which are the kinds of things you'll never hear about or find on your own, but were all really, really cool. On a service front, the guy at the counter was very polite and patient. We rolled in at a quarter to closing, and he made no moves to hustle us out. He let us browse, until we brought up questions, and then he was very helpful (as I know so little, his knowledge was a great favor), and he was enthusiastic without being overwhelming, as fans can be. I haven't bought comics in ages, since the mid 90's X-Men. I really wanted to bring up my five year old reading comics and the staff is just amazing!!! We are not originally from the area and have tried a few of the stores; however we try to travel out from Maumelle at least monthly because the customer service is just that awesome. I have been going here for a good minute now and I've been to about 3 or 4 different comic book shops and I will admit, some have better collectibles, toys, etc. But Kapow always holds it down when I need anything new and same applies when I need any back issues. They have a great subscription program where you can hold select comics in your box which comes in handy when I can't make it out every Wednesday. The atmosphere is great, always someone who works there or around to have good conversation with or if you need any help the staff is great. I HIGHLY recommended this place, guys. read more

I've been a customer for, well, forever it seems and the staff is always ready with a suggestion for a new title to try, or answering character related questions or just shootin' the breeze. I've never once felt like I was in a comic store when I come in, it's a great bunch of like minded people who care about their customers, always willing to show folks new to comics around, suggest age appropriate titles and it seems like every time I'm there, they've got even more stuff! They've got a great back issue selection, a great subscription program to make sure you get the comics you want every month, and time seems to slow down when you're looking around, there's a lot to see! read more

When I want comic books, this is the first place that I visit. I could spend days in here looking through their selection. The staff is always friendly, and knowledgeable and not afraid to talk to you about the comic and science fiction worlds. This place has some figures for sale. They usually have good movies or shows on the TV. If you're into comics, this place is a must. read more
