Portions are generous with chicken and rice with green beans enough for two. So glad to have choices that are not fried and prepared on site. Just moved to the Cleveland area and this is the closest kosher place to home. I've had at least 4 dishes with various sides and I've liked everything I've tried so far. Especially with extra Kantina sauce. Workers are really friendly too. I think price to portion ratio is reasonable too. read more

So disappointing!!! I was looking forward to eating there. I was there a few years ago and the Chef, Nate, I think that was his name made such a wonderful meal. This time everything was bad. The egg on my burger was raw. On my friends Burger when you cut it open he saw that the whole thing was completely uncooked. We like our food medium-rare closer to rare but this was totally Raw. The definite health hazard. For some reason they hired a chef that was supposed to be an amazing chef but he never cooked anything for us. The people in the back cooked everything and they clearly don't know how to cook. When we asked him he just said it's not my food and apologized. The glasses where clean and the people where friendly. It would be nice if the owner took an interest it this restaurant. read more

Absolutely fantastic dinner! The restaurant was clean and well lit. Our server was extremely friendly and had a great personality. I ordered the hummus platter and a vanilla shake. It was delicious. Incompetent. Placed an order via DoorDash, and order was sent completely wrong. Order chicken wings instead got " schnitzel" receipt from DoorDash said chicken wings . Restaurant receipt said schnitzel . Call DoorDash to get the correct item delivered. They sent the wrong item again and charged us for it. Again doordash email said chicken wings and receipt with delivery said schnitzel. HOW DO YOU SCREW UP A SCREW UP?!?? Long story short, charged twice for the wrong item received the wrong item twice. Plus my order was falafel wrap, was given falafel platter. That one I kept and just ate it but it just shows the whole order was wrong.Now we have no lunch and A double charge. We have been waiting for a delicious burger restaurant for a long time. Having lived on the East Coast for a few years and eaten at tons of burger places I have to say that Kantina is great! The Kantina burger was delicious and so was the soup of the day. The HAND MADE burger came with pulled beef on top of the meat and that was DELICIOUS. The meat was seasoned really well and burger assembly was spot on. The bread was super tasty and fresh. The service was good and the staff was friendly. The food came out in a timely fashion and the items are priced appropriately. We're super excited that Kantina has chosen to make Cleveland her home! read more

Thrown off a bit by the online presence of the Kantina as it says no take out, delivery only where I looked, but I was able to walk right in and order food at the counter. It worked. Food was good overall, but didn't quite measure up to online reviews...maybe an off day? I had the chimichurri chicken sandwich with fries and a side of the lentil chili. The sandwich was good, but I've had better., it needed more chimichurri and a bit of char to liven it up. The fries were well done, and tasted great, very crispy. I think I liked them the best. The lentil chili was a bit of a letdown though as it was mostly a cup of rice, with a layer of lentil chili on top. The chili tasted good (needed a bit more seasoning for my taste), but there really wasn't that much of it. Overall a good meal, but seemed a bit expensive for what I actually got. read more

Kantina is an excellent option if you are looking for a nice place to eat. They have a friendly staff and a good selection of food to choose from. I ordered the falafel sandwich and potato crisps. The falafel was well cooked but not dry although the bread on the sandwich could have been toasted a little bit. The potato crisps looked very nice but they could have benefited from some seasoning. I've heard good things and am so glad that I gave it a try. When I think of Kantina, I thought it may be cafeteria or take-out style, which was wrong. You're seated at a table and taken very well care of by a waiter. We ended up ordering the Chef Salad and the Chimichuri Chicken. On the side I got the lentil chili which was honestly, AMAZING! I need to use lentils in my chili -it was phenomenal! The chicken was juicy and well spiced. The bread was just right and smeared with a tasty aoili style sauce. My friend with the salad seemed equally pleased - noting a hint of wasabi and a great flavor profile. Most meals were under or around $10, which I felt was a good price. Great service. Great food. Ate here for Sunday brunch. Food was DELICIOUS. They had a great selection. Had shakshuka for the first time and it was amazing. I will say it was hard to find, we didn't really pay attention that it was a part of the Hillel. We also were expecting a restaurant type atmosphere and it appeared more like a cafeteria. Also, there wasn't a baby changing table in the bathroom, they did not have high chairs and no cups for kids. It was clean and KOSHER which was awesome. OMG!!! We just had Kantina cater our weekend bar-mitzvah for a dinner and a lunch and I cannot even explain how amazing Kantina is!!! From the staff, to the food, to the presentation!!! Seth is beyond incredible. He is kind, and accommodating, professional, and sweet. He made everything PERFECT!!!! He was an absolute dream to work with. My guests (and myself of course) could NOT STOP RAVING about how delicious the food was, how beautiful the setup was, how helpful and sweet the staff were, and how absolutely superhuman Seth is to have done all this and still be the most humble and incredible professional on the planet. We originally went to Kantina just to try out the restaurant several years ago and were blown away by the deliciousness of the food and atmosphere of the restaurant. When we had my daughter's bat-mitzvah party, we reached out to Seth to cater because we loved his food. Holy cow did he do an amazing job. So a few years later, we had him cater our other daughter's bat-mitzvah party....again, blown away by the quality of the food and the service!! We were so incredibly happy with Seth and Kantina that we went back again, this time for a Friday night dinner and a Saturday lunch at our synagogue. We did not think we could be any more impressed, but we were!!!! Everything was seriously PERFECT!!!! We love this place!!! Came with my kids 30 minutes before close and the staff was amazing. They did not rush us out and gave terrific customer service. This place is clean and the greeter and waiter friendly. The BBQ beef sandwich came with coleslaw, fries and pickles. The beef and onion soup is hot and reminiscent of cholent. I would eat here every week if I lived in Cleveland. While, regretfully, I did not order it, a wiser patron than I got a burger topped with a fried egg. This is our family's absolute favorite place to grab a delicious burger. The food is fresh and delicious, the casual atmosphere is fun and friendly. We love the french fries, the fresh bread is amazing, and the salads are unique and innovative. Kantina is one of the only restaurants that satisfies everyone's specific tastes, even our vegetarian. Finally, a nice place to get a good burger in Cleveland that's affordable. Close to Cleveland Heights and for those of us at the hospitals (UH, CCF) or Case a good lunch option. They will cater lunches etc.. Casual atmosphere, the menu is simple but good. The burgers are the way to go.. fresh and handmade, pulled beef was great and the bread fresh, my kids loved the lentil chili. All in all delicious. Table service was a bit challenged (probably better to do take out/ call in advance) but we have to give them time to sort things out.
