Pad Se Ewe
Jessica C.

I've been trying to find authentic Thai food since moving to Greenville and Kannika's has been the best so far. I always order the Pad Se Ewe to first test the authenticity before deciding on a return trip. The spice level was spot on, great ratio of vegetables to noodles and where other nearby Thai restaurants have a syrup or overly sweet sauce, Kannikas had all the flavor you'd expect with fresh authentic spice. It's a small establishment with fast and friendly wait staff. Parking lot is very small for the amount of diners but the food is worth finding alternate parking and there was another lot in the back of the building.

Food is cooked fresh. Service takes time because the food is fresh. Our server was friendly and ambiance is casual and nice. Feels like home.

Kannika has become our fail safe Thai option. We have our favorites, one of us a stickler for what he likes and the other always trying out new things. Food quality is consistent, service efficient and ambiance such that you can have a conversation and hear yourself talking. This time around, we missed the garnish of finely cut salad and orange slices. I hope they are not gone for good. We enjoyed the crunch just so

This place came highly recommended. They were right. I recommend you bring a friend or two. Order the red snapper. DELICIOUS!!! The Pad Thai was very good. We split the meal and everything was good. The papaya salad was quite spicy but we insisted on eating it. Though we were busting at the seems, we ordered the mango sticky rice. Oh soo good. Friendly staff made ordering easy. The place is quite simple in its decor but you don't eat the decorations. Enjoy

Excellent chicken pad Thai with a broad scope of spice levels. The Thai dumplings I was not a fan of, they were almost like large meatballs wrapped in noodles. I was expecting either a smaller piece of meat or it mixed with vegetables. This restaurant offers dine in or carry out. There also is a small bar area in the back of the restaurant. Please be aware there is a 10% charge on carry outs for servers. I ordered carry out and was told there would be a 25 minute wait and I waited over 40 minutes to get my food. This also happened on a Friday night, so plan accordingly during peak times. Aside from the wait, the chicken pad Thai was fantastic so I definitely will be back.

Massaman curry with chicken and added extra veggies

This is my favorite spot to get Thai curry in Greenville. My usual is the dumplings and Massaman curry with chicken and veggies. Absolutely delicious! Bestie and I love to meet up for dinner here. It's usually crowded in the evenings and for good reason. There is extra parking behind the building. It's always clean and the staff give great customer service. The food comes out relatively quickly, even on busy nights. It has a casual dining vibe. The portions are large, but the curry reheats nicely the next day. I've been coming here for years and highly recommend it.

Wow, what a treat... Greenville, SC seriously has the best restaurants in the South. Thought we were spoiled living in Charleston but we never seem to fail with restaurants here in the upstate. This place "Kannikka's Thai Kitchen" came highly recommended to us. All I'll say is we both left the restaurant with a circus in our mouths. The food, flavours, service and experience just incredible. Another 3 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars from us.

Food was fantastic and very freshly made. Lots of selections and gluten free options which are hard to find. A lovely ambience and family owned restaurant! Service was fast and they were very attentive! Pricing was very reasonable and it's now our new Thai favorite!!

Tom Jood soup and spring rolls home made and delicious

So this is my first ...but not last...long overdue trip to this restaurant.. They are very Covid 19 conscious!. No alcohol on the menu BUT...You can bring your own beer or wine.. every day! No corkage fee! So we started with spring rolls home made and delicious...not overly crispy. I ordered a small bowl of soup---.Tom Jood.. all veggies with a clear broth and white pepper...great for a cool evening or snowy nite. Very hot and spicy ..i suggest to .go down a level on the heat level/spice level. It will warm you! For my main course...I ordered..the panang Curry wiith veggies only... jasmine rice was great..panang was delicious less hot than the soup. My daughter ordered the garlic stir fry Chicken It was gently spicy..with an explosion of flavors. Plenty of veggies and appropriate sizded chicken pieces. She is picky and when gives it the thumbs up...it's tasty and fresh. We will definitely be back and we will bring some beer or wine.

Food and service were ok, not amazing but not bad either. Prices were reasonable given their portions were large.

We stepped into the restaurant the first thing we noticed is it's dimly lit. We waited a few moments before a server came over , she then took us to a booth. The seating wasn't that comfortable. We were given water very quickly. Then a server came to take our order. We had not had time to look at the menu so asked her to come back. Then another server came and asked if we wanted different drinks instead of water. We declined. The first server came back again so we ordered our Appetizers. We both decided on soup. My husband had Lemongrass and chicken and I had the coconut chicken with mushrooms. Yet another server came to take our Entree order. The soup arrived and it was very hot and tasty. The only down side was the chicken in the soup was overcooked and chewy. We were then given Spring rolls and dip. They were hot and crunchy. Our Entrees arrived before we finished the rolls. We both ordered our meals as a medium spice which is pretty spicy so be careful when ordering. Overall the food was good. Service was a little confusing as they all seemed to serve you! I did use the bathroom which again is dimly lit but you could see it was dirty and the floors need a good clean as they are black in some areas and very sticky. Noise level was ok even though the restaurant was busy and music was be played.

Unquestionably, the Roti Canai is the delicious signature dish here. Tip: order an extra "pancake"…read moreor "roti". Roti is a general, broad (Sanskrit) term for any type of bread or flatbread, whereas "roti canai" is a specific, popular type of flaky, layered flat bread from Malaysia. This is served with a curry chicken sauce, but really there is not a lot if chicken, android the pancake is crispy, layered, fluffy, piping hot, and unbelievably good. The curry is like a butter chicken, Indian influenced curry. As mentioned, this is at heart a Malaysian restaurant but also served Chinese and Thai classics. Also unquestionably, the decor could use some serious help by the Restaurant Impossible crew. It feels cramped and like a Halloween costume of a Chinese or Asian restaurant, lacking any character or charm, almost a caricature. The service is attentive, but most likely students from nearby Furman University and less experienced, but nice. It is somewhat amusing to me for some reason when, mid-meal, the waitress arrives to the table with a pitcher of ice water and looks at our empty water glasses to ask "would you like more water?" It was lunchtime. Not very crowded. The roti was superb. The $4.00 "pork egg roll", howevre, was a single, skinny, overcooked, under stuffed appetizer with a thin duck sauce accompanying it and tasting like a commercially premade dish or a frozen selection from the grocer. Never to be ordered again. The main I chose was the chicken bulgogi lettuce wrap, which was served with romaine lettuce (not the classic cold, crunchy iceberg as at most places. The bulgogi was overly ratioed with diced water chestnuts in excess to the chicken pieces and it was also very sweet and nothing like classic bulgogi about it. The ingredients for bulgogi might be in this dish, but the composite wasn't the thinly sliced "fire meat" (what the word bulgogi means) I expected. It had chunky chicken, not slices and the sauce was overly sweet and gloopy (too much corn starch) and no heat spiciness. I really did not care to finish this dish. My wife had a serviceable Tom Yum soup that she said she would never order again. We do eat out frequently at Korean and Thai restaurants and these dishes really are not on the same level. But, the Roti Canai is so good, we will definitely be back to eat again. Five plus stars for Roti Canai.

Unlike a lot of other local Asian spots, everything here tastes incredibly fresh and never overly salty. The ambience is beautiful and the layout (and many windows) ensure that every seat in the restaurant is "the good table". The lovely people who work here are genuine, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant uses a cute server robot to deliver you beverages, and other items. Server staff still come to check on you so it's really just a fun addition and not a replacement for waitstaff. And the portions are GENEROUS! We always end up with enough leftovers for a full second meal or a late-night snack to share. Highly recommend!
