One of the main…read morereasons I chose to wear a pixie cut (other than the fact that a cute pixie will make you look and feel sexy) was because I have had SEVERAL bad experiences and I didn't trust anyone with my hair. And I was embarrassed of certain areas of my hair. And every time I would try and give a hairstylist a chance, they would say mean things to me or make me feel even more insecure than I was already feeling. And I gave up on going to the salons. I had lost all trust and faith in hairstylist. But during the pandemic I decided to grow my hair out. Not only was I tired of having to maintain the pixie cut, I just wanted something different. During my transition of growing my hair out I decided to wear braids and this was when I met Brittany. I had began to get my hair braided by Ms. Kandy and while I'm the chair Brittany came in and introduced herself and gave me her card and said to come see her when I was ready to wear my hair. Her sister (who is the owner of Amaka's International Hair Salon) was very nice as well. She too came in a talked me and made me feel comfortable and I felt at home. Anyways, once my hair had reached a length I was okay with wearing out, I did just that. I stepped out on faith and made an appointment with Brittany. She and her sister were so welcoming, I had to go back. I have several areas of my hair that needed some love, and Brittany did just that. She nursed my hair back to life. My first appointment she asked a lot of questions and made me feel extremely comfortable. By the time I made my appointment, my hair had grown out and I was now relaxer free and Not once did Brittany make me feel like it was impossible for me to stay natural. But instead She's always giving me good hair tips on how to maintain my natural hair in between appointments. Brittany is always polite, she's ALWAYS on time, and I'm always her priority while I'm in her chair. I absolutely love my hair and Brittany have renewed my faith in hairstylist. I was so stoked when Skyler came back since she's the stylist I like to go to the most. RPS isn't cheap but I treat myself to it and every cut I get is well worth it. I was already on my way when I received the notice. I understand that illness happens, but a 15-minute heads-up is not acceptable. It wasn't until after she stuck me under the dryer for an hr so she could take care of some personal problems, before she told me the store only had 18 in. After 2 twist were installed I immediately told her the hair was to long. She cut the hair but it was still to long. After taking a break and waiting on her to "pop out" she asked if I wanted it shorter only to tell me if she cut it anymore, I would look like a Lion. I told her to take the hair out and I left the salon. I spent my whole Saturday there and got nothing. Then she had the audacity to ask me to pay her. I already paid an $80 deposit and gave her an additional $60 for my wash and condition. I'm so disappointed, this was suppose to be my bday hair and she messed it up. Had she told me in the beginning she couldn't find the 16 or 14 in, we wouldn't have wasted each other's time. Very unprofessional stylist I would not recommend this establishment.

They were nice, gave me a refund and it and promised to fix the software configuration. I wasn't going anywhere for the next couple weeks anyway.
