It's located on a quite street near the river and is fairly basic inside. It was empty when I arrived there but soon a whole bunch of Indian tourists arrived, as it is the only Indian restaurant in town ;-)) Menu is fairly extensive with a lot of different curries. There was at least three people in the restaurant yet they were super slow to come and ask for drink orders or take food or orders. For this I deduct a star. The guy spoke to me in Hindi and i asked for my Lamb Madras spicy. Most places that speak the language know exactly what that means, except here :-) the curry had a decent flavour but missing the kick that I am used to with this dish. One of my absolute favourite Indian curries and eating it mild is sin :-) the tandoori naan was nice and freshly made and it was an ok meal. Given the choice I probably won't come back here again unless I am desperate. It's ok Indian food in a basic setting and not cheap. For the same money there are other options in town.

My friend and I both ordered the exact same dish, chicken biryani. While I was eating, I noticed that my dish had very little chicken in it. My friend noticed that I wasn't eating and asked why. I told her that there wasn't enough chicken in my dish and that I didn't feel like eating just the rice. She then said that she had more chicken pieces in her dish and asked if I wanted some. I said no because I didn't want to take chicken from her dish. We ordered the exact same dish and paid the same price, so I expected the chicken portion to be reasonably comparable. But as you can see in the photo, her dish visibly had more chicken than mine. Mine was overwhelmingly rice with only a few small pieces of chicken. I don't understand why the portions were so different, but a chicken biryani shouldn't feel like you're paying 27 CHF mainly for rice. A chicken dish should actually have a reasonable amount of chicken in it. The restaurant employees/owner also saw that I wasn't eating and that most of the food was still on my plate. When we asked for the bill, I did mention that my dish only had a few little pieces of chicken and that I didn't want to eat just the rice, which was why I wasn't eating. Even after I explained that, they didn't apologize or offer to make any adjustment to the charge. I honestly wish I had spoken up earlier, when the staff came by and noticed that I wasn't eating, instead being upset and unhappy to be having so much for a chicken biryani that barely had any chicken! I also did not like the mint flavor in the biryani. I have never had biryani with mint in my entire life. I cook biryani myself and eat it often, including Indian, Bengali, and Pakistani versions, and this was the first time I had ever seen someone add mint to biryani. For me, the flavor just didn't feel like it went together. My friend is Vietnamese, and she mentioned that mint is used more commonly in the cuisine she is familiar with, so she didn't mind it. But personally, I did not enjoy the mint in the biryani. The chicken biryani was 27 CHF, and the soda was 4.00 or 4.50 CHF. The total came to exactly $40. I paid $40.36 for a meal that I felt was not properly served, especially when I received only a few pieces of chicken in a chicken biryani dish that cost 27 CHF. I don't think a 27 CHF chicken biryani should feel like you are paying mainly for rice. There was also a misunderstanding when we paid. My friend ended up putting the charge on her card because she thought I hadn't taken out my card, even though I had my e-wallet and card ready on my phone. I honestly wish I had been the one to make the charge on my card because I would have at least had the option to try to dispute the charge. Since the charge was made on my friend's card, I can't do that. I really regret not addressing the portion issue sooner and more directly. I did eventually explain why I wasn't eating when we asked for the bill, but I was disappointed that there was no apology or attempt to make any adjustment to the charge.
