One of my family members is a photographer and helped me weed through some photographers I had found online. Immediately after seeing Liz's work, they said "go with her!" After that, we scheduled a meeting. Liz is just the best; friendly, fun, and lives a very cool life. She's exactly the kind of person you want to share such an intimate/special day with. Side note: we did not use Liz for our engagement photos, as we had the family member take them, but in retrospect, I would recommend all couples do so. Why? Because it would be another opportunity to get to know Liz better and for her to get to know you. We got married in Wicker Park and knew we wanted some photos around the neighborhood, but other than that we were very vague. The spots she chose and shots in each place went above and beyond anything we had imagined. She made everything feel very fun, but she was also very good at keeping a large group of people on track and on time. Our bridal party and family loved her as much we do, and are still (months later) talking about how awesome she is. We had fun at our engagement shoot and learned a lot to help ourselves the day of the wedding. They're great coaches with a keen eye. These two are imaginative, fun, flexible, and willing to go the distance. Everything was easy with them [ Even though our group may not have been for them! ;) ] Great at managing people for a shot. It's like herding kittens, but they got it! Wedding day, they were happy to be wherever we were going to be. Organized and stayed on target of our timeline and plans that they requested ahead of time. And actually it was all fashioned after the realllllly helpful guides found on their website. So don't tell them, but they practically planned our wedding day. Shhhhhhhhh The results speak for themselves through the many mouths of our friends and family being absolutely stunned by their photography. People thought that things were photoshopped that weren't. They do some touch up photoshop work for you and maybe a special embellishment if you like, but they are able to capture amazing angles and lighting that is all them and their talent. They were accommodating by bringing umbrellas when it rained and took everything as it came with the "no worries' attitude! Even though I didn't personally know the couple in the video, Mark's vision and editing made their story a romantic and fun movie. I immediately contacted Mark. With only a month's notice, Mark was able to make it work. Mark worked around our crazy schedules, took care of all the details, made us feel comfortable (even though we very camera shy) and always responded to our emails and calls immediately. His professionalism and responsiveness made our lives so much easier. Our video was delivered ahead of schedule and it was perfect. We didn't plan to have a wedding videographer at first. After seeing so many demos we were not impressed, all the videos were emotionless and boring. I am so glad I found Cascadian Weddings before it was too late. Originally, I didn't think a videographer was that important but I was SO wrong! Our video represents so much more than just our wedding - it truly captures our entire relationship. Mark was so much fun and he spent time and interviewed both of us before the wedding. He integrated our responses perfectly throughout the video in a way I'd never seen before and it added such a wonderful dynamic. We left all the creative decisions up to Mark as we knew he was the videography expert and he selected perfect music and captured every part of our wedding - from the pre-wedding primping to my father-in-law's hilarious dance moves at the end of the night. I felt like they understood what we wanted from the photos of our event I was excited after our initial meeting, but they far exceeded expectations! They were able to capture amazing candid shots without being an intrusive presence. They thoroughly did their prep work and did a walk through with us weeks before the event to plan the staging of shots and become familiar with the venue. All their initial hard work paled to what they both were doing the day of the wedding. They captured the event from set-up to closing with gorgeous images.
