Coming from Vegas, where the plethora and choice of sushi restaurants is mind-blogging, I decided to try this place for a quick meal after a very long day of meetings. Not bad.
1. Ambiance - Very clean about seating for 32-40 people approximately, the place is properly lit, not too bright or too dark. Easy to walk in and then get a table if not already full Tables are typically french, small and tight, that is just the way it is - I give it about a 3 star.
2. Service - The team working here are actually Chinese, so this must be a Chinese owned Japanese restaurant. We tended to struggle to order in French and by pointing as this seemed preferable to using english. Service was adequate at best, a bit more family style vs. professionally focused. I give this about a 2.5 to 3 star.
3 Food - We had Edamame Soy Beans ( soggy), some kind of soup that I would not say was miso soup with some bits in it that seemed to be like tofu. It was adequate, although not special or memorable. They also bring out a type of salad resembling a cole slaw but not a cole slaw. I swallowed it down quickly. Also they brought out shrimp chips. Kinda odd for a Japanese place.... We also had gyoza as an appetizer. My friends ordered the yakitori dinner and I had the sashimi dinner. Overall, the food was satisfying and edible. I would come here again when I want a quick and easy meal, however, I would not come here to entertain or to enjoy a memorable evening. I give this a 2.5-3 star.
4. Price - Not bad at all. They had demiliter of wine for just under 5 Euro, which kind of matched the food, so that worked. The sashimi was about 16 Euro and the yakitori dishes were all between 6-11 Euro. Three of walked out of there spending 55 Euro including tip, so it was definitely reasonable. This I give 4 star!
5. Overall, you have to put into perspective that many places in Paris, if proper, you are going to spend quite some time to order, get the food, and have the courses and etc come out. It is easy to spend 2-3 hours minimally dining and that is great when you want to dine. Tonight, we were just hungry and wanted to eat something and get out. you can get in and out of here in about an hour or less. So that is 4 star in my book! Otherwise, easy to eat at for a meal, just not exactly memorable.
I would recommend this place highly if you are looking for a quick bite of something and want a casual pleasant place. read more
