I fell down stairs and hurt my tailbone, I tripped hiking and rolled downhill, hurting my back and hip, and I also had a bad hike- too high, too fast and wrenched my left leg and hip. Needless to say, besides pain, I had difficulty walking, was very stiff and protective of my back, my leg muscles were spasming with restless leg day and night. I couldn't even lift my leg to put my pants on. I went to 2 different chiropractors and 3 different massage therapists until I found Mark. Mark immediately identified and zeroed in on my problem. He focused on the affected muscles with a passion. He has extremely strong hands and no fear. I've never worked with any massage therapist like him before. At present, I felt a (for me) special need to receive massage therapy. I communicated prior in consultation my body's needs, and also early during our session that I needed a deeper, more systemic massage, but my communication did not impact the modality. The response I received was, "We'll see." I was not listened to. I wanted to wait a few days to monitor my biofeedback before formulating an opinion, and as some time has passed, I feel no therapeutic benefit was received. There was no felt toxin release or muscular physiological shift. My body just needs a modality that utilizes deeper pressure for systemic benefit. This would be a fine experience simply within the context of a relaxing afternoon, or if the cost was not aligned with local market rate, which is well above national averages. Unfortunately, I am going to have to continue searching for a massage therapy nearby. I only hope that this was simply an isolated experience, and not representative of the school, otherwise I feel a need to seek external influence in finding a massage therapy of value. I will not be returning to Ashland Institute of Massage, as I received no value for what I paid, which is disheartening coming from the region's education center.

I searched online and found two clinics that seemed like good candidates to try. I made an appointment online with one place and showed up at the other. Phil was working at the desk, and that man has mad ninja customer service skills. Instead of telling me I was an idiot, he apologized! to me and asked more questions about what kind of massage I preferred and what were my problem areas. After we talked a couple minutes, he offered me a slot with an expert in about 45 minutes since they did have an open appointment time. I gladly took it, returned to my car, and listened to the voice mail on my phone from the other place wondering if I needed directions. Walking into Siskiyou Massage was the best mistake I could make. I've seen several practitioners there and highly recommend each of them. I imagine those I haven't seen are terrific as well. I always feel welcome here, and I leave feeling better than I did when I came in. This place is worth your money. It is a little spendy, but not a bad deal if you opt for one of the package deals.

I felt this was more than fair considering the massage was $70, my neck and back pain did not change, and they called me nonstop to change my scheduled time.
