The workers varied from really nice and helpful to grumpy and appearing to hate their jobs. The place in general is a money pit, but I think you know that going into it. We happened to get in on a BOGO special. Otherwise the price seems crazy high. The roller coaster was one activity that seemed to be running very inefficient. It took forever for them to load the carts. They did jump workers around to different activities so everything isn't always open and the times posted didn't actually match up to when they were open.

That's when we found out that for $30 you could get one hour of free play on non ticketed games. We bought one card and were able to play the Walking Dead rail shooter, the entire campaign of the Halo rail shooter, and some Cruisin' to wrap up the night. It was a Friday night, so they were pretty busy but it's such a huge arcade that it really never is a problem. The staff were all super nice and made me feel welcomed. There is a pretty great selection of games at Tom Foolery. I do wish they had an NBA Jam style arcade machine or more "mature" games like Halo and Walking Dead, but beggars can't be choosers. If you've ever wanted to just be a guy and run through full arcade game campaigns, the Tom's Power Hour deal is absolutely worth it. I will be back one day to beat the Jurassic Park campaign. We had a dedicated area with two picnic tables. Lots of kids there that day. Lots of chloramines in the air. My biggest complaint. Chloramines are chlorine that has bonded with organic matter and chloramine gas is released. It does not indicate cleanliness. That cannot be judged by smell but smell does indicate no free chlorine is available to sanitize. The odor was intense. It burned your eyes. It stayed on your clothes and hair afterward. The entire drive back home to DFW I was smelling chloramine and I never got wet. Anyway. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Birthday boy loved it. His friends loved it. We didn't get in the water. We were being checked on frequently by staff. The water wasn't deep anywhere that I saw. You could see the kids easily. Slides and lots of typical splash pad things. It was a nice little place. The only complaint was the strong smell. We didn't buy food there so I can't speak to that. Overall it was a nice indoor splash park so despite the intense smell, I'm giving 3 stars.

Not a big deal. We got there and they wouldn't honor it. Ok, they've definitely done it before for us because I remember. Both of the employee stories didn't match up, okay - no big deal. Our kids wanted to play - we still paid. First irritating thing. Next? The lifeguards are selective (and not really paying attention to your kids so BE AWARE, THERE ARE TONS OF PLACES THEY CAN STILL DROWN HERE!!!!!! ) with who they want to yell at, also they don't really know what they're yelling at for because telling my child's father that he couldn't go down the small slide, even though it did not say no adults on that particular slide and our son is small/was scared to go without his Dad waiting first at the bottom. I guess because he was on the heavyset side of things she was trying to suggest he was too heavy when in fact, he was not, and there were bigger people going down it. So yeah the teenager "life guards" will body shame you. Watch out. Lastly.... The place has BLACK MOLD absolutely everywhere... as well as green mold/algae growing on steps, TONS of anti slip treads ripped off causing kids to slip (not to mention all the broken pieces of equipment), get hurt....even though they're in a rush to push customers out right at 6 o'clock sharp, if not before if they get the chance. Because they half ssa squeegee the floors so make sure you don't leave your shoes on the floor otherwise they'll end up in a puddle of water where they push all of it around from trying to hurry up and leave instead of doing their job properly and waiting for everyone to leave before they start cleaning/closing. It's a shame that the owners have let this place go downhill so much considering how much they still charge and the water was definitely not 82°! We saw one little boy with his lips blue and shivering. Save your money go elsewhere, this place is not what it's cracked out to be. Oh, and then charging like $20-$25 for an eight dollar pizza from Domino's is pretty diabolical too.

Cat Hollow Pool is like the San Antonio Spurs of neighborhood pools. It's not the newest or the flashiest pool. It's just a damn good pool. Cat Hollow Pool has clean cool water. It's not dirty or over-chemed. It is seldom over-crowded. The grounds are well-maintained. Open hours are very generous (open until 9 pm almost every night), and the pool is well-staffed with a crew of lifeguards. My toddler enjoys the shaded kiddie area, and my little guys enjoy the deeper sections and small water slides. The annual pass for a family is a bargain, Perhaps it would be nice if Cat Hollow had a bigger, windier water slide or a zero-entry pool for the kids. Maybe a few more splash pad features or a reliable snack and drink machine would be cool. That said, as far as water-filled holes in the ground go, this one is pretty darn good.

Also, we usually have an issue with crowds but we really didn't notice that here. The two slides they have are awesome, the kids love it here. I love the fact that they have a shallow area for the little ones. Unfortunately, arm floaties are not allowed but they have life vests available which is AWESOME!

Its a bit hidden right by a playground and dog park. This summer we had her taking lessons for the Preschool class early on in the summer and a couple of weeks ago completed the Advanced Preschool. Swimming lessons were through the Rec Center schedule. If you or any family members are thinking of doing swimming lessons, I highly recommend taking the courses as they take place here. The instructors were friendly with all ages and took such great time and patience especially with the preschoolers. There are two pools at the Lake Creek Pool. One large one...I'm not quite sure the depth but there is also a kiddie pool off to the side which has a cover over it from the sun..which was maybe a little over a foot in depth. Off to the side there are a handful of picnic type tables and several lounge chairs off to the side. There is a huge tent over the picnic tables but other than that, there is no shade. For just playing in the water and to swim, this place isn't too bad if you aren't looking for water slides or anything. Just a place to swim, hang out and cool off.

You can bring in your own food and drinks (no alcohol-boo!) which is great since they don't have food items or snacks for sale. It's only $2 to get in which seems like a steal for any activity whatsoever these days, being that everything ever to do is hella expensive. This pool is nothing exciting. It's great for swimming and has a nice big deep end of diving without the board. It also has a nice shaded kiddie pool for my little one. There's no trees or grass to relax in if you're looking for that. The bathrooms are usually pretty gross. Fortunately, I don't have to use them often. They could pick up the TP off the ground- that'd be cool.

There's also a pretty cool slide and one of those "walk on floats across the water" things. My kids stayed for almost 2 hours and the only reason we left then is because they were starting to turn red from their sunscreen wearing off. The lifeguards were also great. We have gotten so used to overbearing lifeguards this summer who blow their whistles and yell nonstop and this was a nice change of pace. They were very patient with everyone, using normal speaking voices and only using whistles if someone was doing something dangerous. It made for a very relaxing and fun experience. The entry for kids is about standard ($3 each) and a bit higher than usual for adults ($6 each) but one of the benefits of this is that the place wasn't very crowded so we were able to have a good time without feeling cramped. We'll definitely be coming back again, kids and adults had a great time.
